    Amazing South American waiters! Rude arrogant local waitresses and receptionists.They lied to us. We ordered a window table overlooking the sea they said yes on the phone. When we arrived they denied it very aggressively. My Spanish wife had spoken on the phone so no language problem

    Fantastic view from our room, overlooking the pool and the sea. We had a balcony, spacious room and en-suite, great big fluffy towels- it felt luxurious. Neither the hotel entrance nor the parking were very obvious, there are apartments and gym adjacent. The restaurant was very good but we had to ask for the menu del dia,

    Just had 10 days 30th June here travelling solo. Very nice hotel, food average. We were taken for coach trips 4-5 times with my new found friend (Bob Vickers). Well worth a trip Avista Holiday Chesterfield.

    Last 2 Nights in Northern Spain

    We were so impressed with the hotel, the room & views the whole package really. Every thing was great until our 2nd day & last night before the ferry, After our breakfast we toured the remote & rural area's for 3 or 4 hours only having coffee whilst out. On arriving back to the hotel we had some sharing dishes mid afternoon, I had tuna & scallops, my partner has a small bite of my tuna sandwich.In less than 2 hours I was very sick, during the night I had projectile vomiting & diarrhea & laid out in the bathroom for several hours.My partner did not feel great during this period but was not ill until some 24 hours later when she was also vomiting.On our last day we only ate in the hotel so it cant have been elsewhere else. It was a real anticlimax as we loved the hotel and everything about it.

    We enjoyed a couple of good coffees...…..after we were treated to a visit to see the lobster "farm" situated below the Hotel Astuy on a visit from its "sister" hotel (Juan de la Cosa). This was an excellent experience if you are lucky enough to ever be included in such a trip
