Location

This hotel is located in Puente Viesgo, Cantabria, and is set in natural surroundings. Nestled in amidst the area's luxuriant vegetation, 1.5 km from the hotel, lie the caves of Monte Castillo, home to ancient rock paintings.     Large hotel, very nice and comfortable. Very nice buffet lunch and breakfast. Free parking right outside. Staff were very welcoming. Nicely sited in the centre of Puente Viesgo. Only 25 minutes from Santander so a great stop off point for the ferry.     Wonderful weekend getaway

    Very nice spa hotel in scenic town. Great for a getaway. We went overnight to ride the via Verde del pas. Arrived too late to go to the cave. Enjoyed 2 hours in the Templo de Agua (which was included in our room rate). Forgot to make a reservation for dinner but ate ate the cafeteria across the street and the food was surprisingly good and reasonably priced. Beautiful views, clean, excellent service. Only slight negative was the breakfast buffet (also included in our room rate!) … they had all the typical European items but most things were mediocre (notably breads/pastries).     Excellent Spa Hotel

    The setting is a beautiful spa village with friendly and hospitable residents. Our hotel experience was exceptional. The rooms new and very clean. The staff always there to help with any questions one may have. The Templo del Agua is a perfect spot for relaxing and recharging. I highly recommend seeing Santander, and riding the hour Ferry all around the city. We also had a chance to see the Natural Park nearby. In regards to the hotel, excellent breakfast buffet and the areas inside are beautiful and cozy. This hotel´s location is ideal if you have a car, lots of nearby places to visit.     Super Spa Hotel

    The setting is in a pretty Spa village. The hotel is quite a big hotel and modern with lots of marble flooring. The Reception staff spoke some English and were friendly and helpful. Our room was a Junior Suite on the third floor. It was spacious with a large bed which was a relief after the cramped uncomfortable cabin we had on our trip over on Brittany Ferries. The decor is on the bland side but the view from the windows more than made up for this. We were the only English staying in the hotel but this was fine as we managed with a very helpful Restaurant Manager to work our way through the menu in Spanish. He also advised us to go in the Restaurant as the buffet room was going to be very busy. The food was good and reasonably priced. Breakfast was good too and had a plentiful selection. On our second night we ate across the road at their large cafe which has a nice outdoor terrace. The attraction for us was that we were able to eat earlier than the 8.30pm dinner service time that operates throughout Northern Spain. No English was spoken but we managed with helpful waiters and Google translate! The hotel is well known for its Thermal Spa Complex. We decided to try it despite no English spoken but again we managed with helpful staff and Google translate and managed to understand what we were supposed to do. This included wearing a swim cap provided by the hotel! It was a great experience and thoroughly therapeutic and relaxing. We had a good overall experience at the hotel and slept well. We would definitely stay here again even if it was only for a night passing through on our way south.     Charmingly naive for well-traveled visitors

    This isn’t an international place, there were no non Spanish people here that I heard. This brings a local flavour to the place and a charming naïveté. The main pool, Templo de Aqua smells strongly of chlorine do don’t think that you are bathing in unadulterated thermal waters. Plenty of interesting showers, steam room, sauna.For pure thermal waters, try one of the treatments. I did baño de burbujas (bubbles) you are on your own in a small room with sunken bath. They ask you to be nude and if not, they give you a plastic bag for wet swimsuit and paper underwear to change into afterwards. The dinner was really poor. Horrible wet risotto, very salty food. Nice desserts. Breakfast very busy with queues for the coffee machines. Try the food on the bridge in town, really good. The church is very interesting with a brilliant echo.
