    What an elegant and enormous room! Great view of the water, and perfect location for exploring. Very quiet too. Our stay was way too short. Want to come back and stay here again!

    Hotel Bahia Santander – cannot wait to go back!

    April 30, 2026 ThuMy wife and I went to visit our dear family in Santander and we booked through the hotel’s website 9 nights in Hotel Bahia Santander from Sat. Apr. 4 – Sun. April 12, 2026. We stayed in room 621 overlooking the Cathedral and we loved it!Location: Excellent. Walking distance to the city center, public transportation, and to the train station where rental car companies are located (including Enterprise Car Rental where we got an excellent deal.)Atmosphere: Excellent. Welcoming and inviting – and without dogs! which we love and have had but do not believe they should occupy a seat in a restaurant or in an airplane especially when they become a private or public nuisance.Room: Excellent. Spacious, clean, comfortable bed, pillows, bathroom. Value: Excellent. We did not find a better deal!Cleanliness: Excellent. Everything spotless.Noise level: Excellent. Our room was facing the Cathedral where there is construction next to it but we did not hear any noise during our stay.Service: Excellent. The entire staff, without exception, very pleasant, polite, and always ready to help.Amenities: Excellent. Wonderful buffet breakfast (additional €14. a day), parking available and ‘quite interesting’ (additional €15. day – we chose to use it instead of the daily €7. public parking about a block away), on-site restaurant/cafeteria. And a note just for those who love hot chocolate and churros: Here we found the most delicious hot chocolate and churros that we have tried anywhere in the world including (with all due respect) the famous Chocolateria San Gines in Madrid. This Hotel, without a doubt, is where we will stay next time we go to Santander.     A lovely, friendly hotel sandwiched between the Ferry Port and the Cathedral in Santander

    I booked this hotel while in the Emergency Department at Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital, following a motorcycle accident as I was boarding the Brittany Ferries ship to Portsmouth. i stayed three nights until the next Santander-Portsmouth crossing.I arrived at the hotel by taxi with no belongings other than a backpack with my laptop. The hotel is about 200m from the Brittany Ferries check-in terminal for foot passengers, which I had just become, next door to an impressive cathedral, and in the shopping district so I was able to quickly buy a flight bag and changes of clothes.The rooms are lovely and spacious, the staff friendly and multilingual, and the bars and restaurants welcoming and good value. I particularly appreciated the friendliness of the staff, as I had a badly cut hand and broken collar bone (on different sides) so I needed help each morning to re-bandage my hand and put on my watch, jacket, etc. A particular shout-out to Maria on the reception desk and Robbi on the room service team for their invaluable help.I was pleased to finally board the Brittany Ferries ship and head home, but I would strongly recommend this hotel if you are going to Santander. Be sure to book directly with the hotel's website for the best price (in my case, €404 for three nights without breakfast).     We were approached by a professional conman in the reception who mimicked the hotel procedures not knowing he wasnt really staff as he wore a hotel badge. He pretended to be maintenance to check smoke alarms and said there had been smoking on the floor.     Stayed here for a night and was pleasntly surprised when i got to my room where i had a view overlooking the Cathedral. It was pretty impressive. The hotel is very central an easy walking distance to everything. Its a large hotel, checkin was quick and staff all polite. Room itself was big and comfortable. No problems at all during my stay.
