  Nice little boutique hotel, well located in Santander

  I enjoyed my stay at this small boutique hotel.I had short wait for checkin as the hotel receptionist was busy dealing with someone else. However during checkin I think I got the most informative and lengthy explanation of the hotel and its facilities that I have ever had at a hotel anywhere, as well as recommendations for local eating places, all in Spanish which I appreciated (and understood!) as I’m learning and these interactions help. The receptionist then showed me to my room and gave another informative explanation of the room facilities. At reception I was also offered a glass of cava which I declined as I was hot having just walked with my suitcase from Santander train station.I booked a premier room (without balcony) and stayed in Room 11 near reception on the ground floor. As the hotel is small it was quiet with no noise disturbance from other guests. At the rear the room is at first floor level with a view over the garden and small pool. Room was not large but sufficient for me with a double bed (comfortable for me), smart TV, mini fridge, capsule coffee maker, central heating and very effective air conditioning. The hotel provides some small breakfast items in the room that were sufficient for me - sabao’s (local cake), fruit, yogurt and hand-made biscuits. Bathroom was very large with sink, toilet and walk-in shower. Hotel is located in a quiet street in the Puertochico area of Santander, so is a short walk down to the port promenade where you can get buses to other parts of Santander such as the Sardiniero beaches and the ferries to Somo. Overall, a good stay and well done to the staff for providing excellent customer service.

  Disappointing!

  This hotel was very disappointing. The room was tired and required some TLC, particularly the bathroom, shower missing a door, rust on radiator, long dark hairs behind the door. The balcony was very, very small with no privacy from neighbouring room. The swimming pool is more an ornamental pool. There was no flexibility on timings even if you arrive 10 minutes before 3pm! Definitely would not recommend this hotel.

  It is very dishonest to charge almost 150 euros a night for such a small and terrible room! Before entering the room it smells a bit like sewer, despite some deodorant sticks trying to cover the bad smell. The bed base is smaller than the already small French mattress...so if you sit on the edge of the bed, you fall to the floor! (see photo) When you sleep, you have to be careful not to charge your head as well as your phone, since the outlet is virtually on the pillow! (see photo) Incredibly there’s only one sink and it’s outside the bathroom, with the soap dispenser over a meter away from the sink! (see photo) The sliding door of the bathroom is smaller than the opening (so from the outside you can see everything...pure poetry!) and has no handles and no track at the bottom, so every time you go to the bathroom and close the door, it feels like the door is falling on your head! (see photo) Finally, there's practically no parking, as the hotel has very few spaces, and it's extremely difficult to park in the street.The only two good things were that the room was clean and close to the city center...nothing else!   Hotel is on quite a steep hill. We were driving and the car parking is a bit tight. However the staff were fantastic and helped every step of the way. We had a room which was very close to reception but was very quiet. The room was bright and comfortable with very comfortable beds. There were nice touches like fruit and tea/coffee making facilities and also a fridge.I would recommend this hotel if staying in Santander but it is a bit of a climb up the hill (or steps) from the town.   Brilliant small and friendly hotel in great location.

  Brilliant little hotel in a great location with very welcoming staff. Lovely room with welcome air conditioning, lovely shower and super comfortable bed. About a 20 minute walk to the various beaches with plenty of bars and restaurants about a 5 minute walk away. Parking for 6 vehicles so need to pre book if parking essential, but on street parking not too far away. Nice little private pool and outside shower with comfy loungers to the rear of the hotel if you fancy a chilled out day.
