Location

This appealing hotel is located about 15 minutes from Santillana and its impressive caves, as well as just a little over a hour from the Picos de Europa Mountains and the Guggenheim Museum. The inlands nearby are also worthy of a visit. Countless bars, nightclubs and restaurants are to be found in the vicinity (100 m away). Links to the public transport network can easily be reached on foot, located around 100 m from the hotel. The nearest sandy beach is approximately 700 m away. The hotel is 30 km from Santander Airport.

Facility

5 suites, 4 single rooms and 21 double rooms are located on 6 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities available at the hostel include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Additional amenities include a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Rooms

Rooms are equipped with central heating and a fan. The rooms have a double bed and a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Sport

The outdoor pool complex is ideal for exercise and relaxation. A hot tub invites guests to soothe their muscles, and a poolside snack bar will take care of any hungry bellies. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The hostel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, beach volleyball, golf, fishing and horse riding. With water skiing, windsurfing, jet skiing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, banana boat rides, canoeing, sailing, catamaraning and diving available, fans of water sports will have plenty to choose from. Sport and leisure facilities at the hostel include a gym, squash and yoga. A spa, steam bath and massage treatments are available in the wellness area.

Meals

Various dining options are available, including a restaurant (with high chairs), a café and a bar. Catering options include half board and full board. A delicious and varied buffet is prepared for breakfast every day, and a set menu can be ordered at lunch and dinner. The menu also offers diet meals, gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes and children's meals. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available.

    Great place for a large family group, with very helpful staff

    We have had a week's holiday in Suances for our family of 14 including keen teenage swimmers and surfers. The Hotel Marazulysurf had ample space for us all, with its large terrace and mini-swimming pool and underground car park. Well placed within easy walk of both main beaches and the tennis and padel club. We had two mass dinners specially organised for us in the hotel which gave us creative food, good service and were notably less expensive than equivalent restaurants in town.     There is no air conditioning so you have to keep the window opened to be able to sleep, what you’ll hardly do since it is too noisy outside.The swimming pool is very small, just a pool 3 m long! The lift doesn’t work properly.In summery, not to recommend.

    Not a good experience at all which is a shame as Suances is a great place. The staff were short and rude and really not at all helpful. The rooms were small, smelt of damp and were dirty. However, worst of all is the constant noise outside which continues through the night. The parking is payable and is fine if you have a bicycle.

    Streetnoise of drunk people until 7 in the morning. Familyroom small with 1 mini window.No mointain view. No choise of food in the restaurant. Too small pool. Smell in the elevator. 600€ for 4 night is scandal! We only staid one night and change the booking!We had to pay cost of 1 night extra Carmen M, Director General at Hotel Mar Azul y Surf, responded to this review I'm really sorry for streetnoise and drunk people arround .We have written a complaint to the city hall in order to avoid this situation another time.Usually Suances is a relaxing town.

    Lovely family hotel in great location

    Stayed at this hotel for one night after arriving in Santander, approximately 20 mile journey. The rooms were bright and we enjoyed a lovely dinner and breakfast. There are some great views of the countryside and the hotel is easy walking distance to the town, albeit up hill. Would definitely visit again.
