Location

This hotel is located is the centre of the village, on the edge of the main square, Plaza Ramón Pelayo. It lies 2 km from the Altamira Museum and the Santillana Zoo, 2.4 km from Santander, 4 km from Santa Justa beach and 8 km from Torrelavega railway station. Soplao Cave is 60 km from the hotel.

    beautiful building in a perfect setting but slow service and a very poor cup of coffee. the internal decor of the parador were sopt on but unable to provide a decent cup of coffee. as i say, disapointed.

    Interesting building in perfect location. Generous food portions. It sometimes took quite a while to be served in the bar and some staff were a little sullen but Vanesa Noriega was very pleasant, helpful and smiling. We would recommend this parador, as indeed we would others. Very convenient car park. It would have been helpful if clear, precise driving instructions were made available prior to arrival. Perhaps sent out at the time of booking? Non Spanish drivers need a little bit more help as the road are unfamiliar.

    This Parador is in lovely medieval village - warm stone buildings, lovely cobbled streets and some great bars and restaurants. Be warned it can get very busy in the summer...The Parador is very friendly and very covid compliant. Rooms are good and well equipped with strong safety measures. The restaurant is in the Gil Blas Parador 20 metres away and its delight. We sat outside and had an excellent meal with local cheese, vegetarian salad and steak - it was very good. Service was efficient.In the morning breakfast was slower than normal due to the pressure on staff but they managed this well. There was the usual excellent selection of cheese, fruit and meats. The only advice I would offer is to make it clear that you can order hot food such as fried eggs or bacon but this wasn't clear.This was another great stay...     Warm welcome, staff helped us with maps of the city, proposed restaurants and best way to go there. Room was great, lots of space and a fine bed. Elevator seemed a bit old but was working... Fine address.
