  My experience in this hotel has not been good because after agreeing with the owners that we could use a smart box and that we did not have to pay any supplement because our box included a massage which we were not going to give, my surprise when it comes to paying is that the owner tells me that he does not take it, after that it is because you have to pay a supplement ... which I do not refuse to pay, after that you can not and that I try to do it, which I am angry enough and decided to pay the room , the truth I do not like people with little word. Otherwise the rooms well, normal, only you hear everything a lot. When we arrived nobody welcomed us, they left us the keys behind the counter. The normal simple breakfast, I agreed to the price of the room , which if I think it is necessary is another toaster since it takes a long time to make a toast and lines up despite being tiny.   Three night stay to visit the sights surrounding and Santillana Del Mar. It is an absolutely very clean hotel and room. Room is basic and the wifi and hot water for shower really good. Very quiet area so slept well. Breakfast a basic continental with bread, cheese meat and lots of sweet cakes. Make sure to get a confirmation email returned to you re check in time for someone to meet you there, as we had to wait for approx 40 mins for someone to arrive to let us in, when phoning it goes to office which is inside and no one on site. No heating on in rooms and it was very cold weekend with storms and hail and wind. The room was cold and first two nights we had one blanket on our bed then I asked for a second which we were given. At this time of year for overseas visitors not use to the Europe cold ,then they should be accessible to a few blankets in the room, if heating not on and maybe a small carpet next to bed to take chill off the tiled floor. would have been better if there was a kettle or even hot water available for a cuppa. quiet area and you need a car.V

  Lovely staff and accommodation in a semi rural location but a car is esseential to explore the areaCoffee making facilities either in the lounge or in the rooms would make a big difference as the local provision is poor and there are no shops without a half hour walk.Lovely walk though to the heart of Santillana and to Altamira.Will definitely go back but with a car and a kettle.
