  Nice hotel with great facilities

  Love staying at Paradors. This one is a little more modern that some weve been to, built on the sirte of an old monastery. All rooms seem to have balconies overlooking the city and down below are gardens, tennis courts and a large swimming pool. Lots of parking.Getting to the historic areas will mean getting a taxi, yet that cost only 10 Euros and was arranged by reception. The room on the 5th floor was spacious and clean with a good sized balcony and comfortable bed.We had dinner there and enjoyed the food, the menu is much like many of the other paradors with a few tweeks for local food.All the staff were very helpful, we very much enjoyed the stay Parador de Cordoba Cordoba, Otros at Parador de Cordoba, responded to this review Dear Sir or Madam Stravinsky1975Thank you for choosing our hotel and for sharing such encouraging feedback.   Paradise at the Parador!

  Staying at a Parador has been on our Spanish travel wish list for some time. Paradores are Spain’s state-owned collection of luxury hotels, often occupying historic buildings or enjoying spectacular settings, so we were particularly looking forward to experiencing one for ourselves. The Parador de Córdoba certainly didn’t disappoint.The hotel enjoys a fantastic elevated position overlooking Córdoba, with impressive views across the city. The setting is one of its greatest strengths, with beautifully maintained private gardens providing a peaceful contrast to the intense heat and bustle of the city below. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and well maintained, while the staff were friendly, welcoming and accommodating throughout our 3-night stay.The star attraction for us was undoubtedly the swimming pool. It is exceptionally large and set within the attractive gardens at the front of the hotel. Having a lifeguard on duty was an added reassurance, while the plentiful sun loungers meant there was never a problem finding somewhere to relax. The hotel even provides a dedicated changing, toilet and shower block alongside the pool, as well as complimentary beach towels. With Córdoba temperatures exceeding 40°C during our stay, the pool was an absolute godsend and somewhere we spent a considerable amount of time!Our fourth-floor room was large, quiet and very comfortable, with the elevated position adding to the feeling of peace and privacy. The room was spotless and provided everything we needed for our stay. Our only reservation was the bathroom. The bath/shower arrangement was perfectly functional, but we would have preferred a modern walk-in shower, as getting in and out of the bath to use the shower was a little awkward.We also enjoyed dinner in the hotel’s impressive, spacious restaurant on our first evening. It was a very pleasant way to end the day without having to venture back into the city, particularly given the extreme temperatures.There were only a couple of things we felt could have been improved. The main one was the absence of complimentary bottled water in the room. With temperatures above 40°C, having chilled drinking water readily available would have been greatly appreciated. We have also found that similarly rated hotels elsewhere in Europe often provide a water cooler or dispenser in reception, which would have been a particularly welcome facility here.The hotel’s location does mean that walking into central Córdoba isn’t especially practical in the summer heat, but this wasn’t a problem for us. We didn’t use our car at all during the stay, leaving it safely in the hotel’s free car park. Taxis into the city centre were generally under €10, and there are also bus stops reasonably close to the hotel.Overall, the Parador de Córdoba was a memorable and enjoyable experience and lived up to our expectations of what staying in a Parador should be. The spectacular setting, beautiful gardens, superb swimming pool, spacious room, friendly staff and free parking all combined to make it an excellent base for exploring Córdoba.If, like us, you’ve always fancied experiencing the Paradores concept, the Parador de Córdoba is certainly a very good place to start. Just make sure you allow plenty of time to enjoy that magnificent pool!

  We had a lovely junior suite which was at the corner of the building facing the gardens and Cordoba.The room was fine with a nice balcony.Only issues were there being no English language news station on the TV which was strange given so many English speakers stay and there was no printed information in the room about hotel facilities. Reception can provide a map of the town but you have to ask.Breakfast wasn’t great. Given the hotel is out of the town, we has two evening meals as we opted for half board - meals were very good although with the menu is limited but for two nights it was fine.Pool and sun bed area were excellent but for some strange reason it closes at 18;00 on Mon - Thurs and 20:00 at the weekend.   Good hotel. Staff were very helpful both on the front desk and in the restaurant. All the staff had a smile and were clearly happy in their work. Good views from the rooms and about €10 taxi to centre of town.   Nice hotel, but not near the main tourist sites

  This Parador’s location is good if you’ve been to Córdoba before and the main tourist sites are not a priority since it is a few miles from the historic center. If visiting for the first time a hotel closer in might be better. Taking the local bus from a stop close to the Parador to Plaza Colón worked well. From it one can walk to the Mezquita in about 15 minutes.Check in was easy and there was plenty of parking. There was a Tesla charging point. Our room was larger than other Paradors we’ve stayed at and overlooked a wooded area and parking places. While some Paradors provide complimentary bottle of water in the rooms, this one didn’t. It wasn’t an issue as the tap water was fine.The hotel seemed well maintained and the staff were friendly and helpful. The last two mornings of our visit the breakfast staff seemed overwhelmed for a short while as one breakfast service was ending and another beginning. During that period service was slower, the food was slower to be restocked, and it took longer for tables to be cleared. Overall, the staff managed the rush as well as possible.One negative was the shower’s water temperature kept fluctuating. On our third morning there was a shower water flow/pressure issue where the water almost completely stopped flowing for a couple minutes. Fortunately it flowed enough to wash off the soap.
