    Wouldn’t really recommend this hotel

    rating12 Oct 2026

We have just returned from our 4 day holiday at this hotel. Start with the positives - staff were friendly and most spoke some English. There were plenty of restaurants & shops near by, located right across from the beach and a lovely walk around the area. As well as a train:tram every half an hour which took you all over. The cons - The food was bland, lukewarm and repetitive. The hotel was somewhat clean but is definitely in need of a revamp in some areas. There were fire alarms hanging from the ceiling, our shower was poorly fitted & the lifts sounded a bit strange! The drinks included in the all inclusive package was very very limited. They were disgusting and gave me and my partner terrible heart burn. And soft drinks - only thing on tap was coca-cola. When I asked for a lemonade, I was given juice from a bottle (as if it was orange juice)The pool was freezing cold! (I know pools aren’t meant to be hot but it was like ice water) Says a lot when nobody was in the pool all day! Not sure if this was the time of year we went? The all-inclusive was not worth it at all. The “snack-bar” is non existent and if you wanted a snack you’d have to go all the way back down to the restaurant where cold food was on the side. The restaurant was basically a free for all, it was crazy! We much preferred going out to the local bars (they were incredible- highly recommend Ginger just down the pathway from the hotel). Another con, it is far from the airport. We stupidly did not arrange a transfer so ended up having to pay €150 to get to the hotel at 1am!! If and when we return to Santa Susanna we will definitely book transfers. Overall, our stay was lovely. Would we return to the hotel - NO. Would we return to the area - yes absolutely! Value for money - Definitely not!

    Basic Hotel, No Frills

    rating19 Sept 2026

I am at the Alegria Caprici Verd currently, arrived 20/9, leaving 26/9. My room was not ready when I arrived, so I had to wait around for 2 hours after a long journey, in my jeans until I could get to shower and change. It is a fairly large hotel with a large dated reception area. The staff are friendly. The 3 lifts take forever to go to floor 5 where my room is. They do not feel very well maintained. The rooms are clean, but small, basic and dated. There is air conditioning in your room and the free wi-fi works well with throughout the hotel. The room safe is at extra cost, which is disappointing for a 4 star hotel. I could not find any English programs on the TV. The food is probably average for this type of busy package deal type set up. Meal times are total chaos, it’s a free for all. Some polite people queue in turn. Food is not replenished before items run out, so you have to wait ages or keep going back, for example, there have been no fried eggs for ages at breakfast time, and no grilled meat or fish for ages at dinner time. The hotel attracts a mix of people, including young families. It’s really noisy with people. It can be difficult to sleep because of doors slamming in the early hours. There is nothing to do in the evening, as the hotel entertainment is virtually non existent, and when someone appears and says “it’s disco time”, it absolutely diabolical. The location of the hotel is good for the beach and the railway station, but there is virtually nothing else here apart from a few kiosks and shops selling absolute rubbish and very expensive bottles of drink, confectionary and crisps. I have not used the pool yet, it’s not the cleanest looking pool I’ve seen. I’m half board, which has worked out well, after breakfast I travel to other areas all day and then come back for dinner. I could not spend all day at this hotel, it would be incredibly boring. I would not book here again, there are many much nicer places for the same money

    Loved it

?????????? Fantastic stay at Alegria Caprici Verd, Santa SusannaWe had a fantastic stay at the Alegria Caprici Verd in Santa Susanna, Costa Brava. What a beautiful hotel! The staff were so friendly and welcoming, which really made our holiday even more enjoyable. The food was lovely, but we chose bed and breakfast as there are so many beautiful restaurants along the strip that we wanted to try. There’s plenty of choice nearby, so this worked perfectly for us.The cleaning staff deserve a special mention too. They were lovely, friendly and did a great job, while also giving you your privacy and never constantly disturbing or harassing you.The location was fabulous, right across the road from the beach, and the amazing pools at the hotel were another big highlight. ????? The whole place had a lovely holiday atmosphere and was perfect for relaxing. The only little niggle was that the lifts broke down a couple of times during our stay, but they were repaired very quickly, so it really didn’t affect our holiday.Overall, we absolutely loved our stay and would definitely recommend the Alegria Caprici Verd. We would happily come back! ????

    Things you need to know

    rating24 Aug 2026

Currently on holiday here and a few things I wish I had knew before coming. All inclusive. Breakfast 8-10.30am - the usual breakfast but most of the hot food is lukewarm warm. Good selection of fruits, pastries, cereal with milk at room temp. Lunch: 1-3.30 and dinner 7.30-9pm usual stuff, rice dish, meats, quite nice, kids corner (very average) but it’s AI and there’s always something to find that’s there for everyone’s tasteRooms: clean which is a big thumbs up. Be cautious here. we had to DEMAND a room change. We got allocated a pool view and if you are wanting to relax or have children and want to be in bed at a sensible time avoid these at all costs. The first 3 night we had music blasting until nearly 1am and residents chanting on. With doors closed and pillows over heads it was unbearable!!!! If I bc old upload the video of how loud I would but staff agreed when it was played back to them. We got reallocated with a back room which has been really peaceful with Mountain View’s. ONE LAST ONE: tea or coffee. No facilities in room for a morning brew which is a massive downer for me. Nothing nicer than just enjoying that morning brew on your balcony. Pool: ok here we go for this family hotel. Pool opens 10am. No reservation of sunbeds (I agree with this because people who claim beds then leave them empty until afternoon are clearly arrogant and this stops this.) you can put towels down but you are required to stay with your towel or it will be removed. No floating aids, rings, pool noodles or balls or anything. So save your money in advance it’s a simple NO. A bit of a downer for a family based hotel. Also I’ve never seen pool cleaned since arriving. Lots of gravel on bottom, found grapes, bottle tops but no number 2s so it could be worse! Pool snacks: back to all inclusive no snacks available at pool bar no fries, no ice cream, you have to get dressed and go down to the restaurant. The snacks unfortunately are left over stuff from previous meal. Very disappointing. We went to a supermarket next door for some crisps for the children but were quickly approached and told if we want to eat these you have to do so in your room. Also until 11am all inclusive is unavailable so any drinks you have to purchase with them. Staff: staff are friendly and very helpful. They have a good kids club team although I think the program is still just ok. Life guards, kitchen staff, reception all happy to help and again cleaning service is very good! The location is nice. Santa Susanna is chilled, right next to station if you want day trip. Beach opposite nice but drops deep very quick! Nice shops and near by restaurants at tourist prices. Would I stay at this hotel again. No. It’s just not family based enough for me. The all inclusive package is very poor compared to other hotels I have visited in past. Evening entertainment has been poor but if you’re easily pleased and enjoy listening to the macerana every night you will be fine! 5/10
