    Hotel is not 3 stars ,barely 1. Really outdated, balcony door had no lock, tv not working, water not flashing had flood after each shower. Food very limited, cold. Restaurant smells weird. Beds were changed once only after my argument with a cleaner. Floors never cleaned under beds. Very nice location

    We came as part of a large group to take part in a basketball tournament taking place in the area. I honestly think this hotel is only still open due to hosting people for these kinds of events!To give it credit, the hotel was clean, our room was tidied daily, staff were nice.Unfortunately I have way more to moan about.Having read reviews before coming, I wasn't expecting much so at least my expectations were managed. The hotel is an 80s throwback. It's SO dated it's comical. As I anticipated, it was loud at night. Any noise from the corridors echoed loudly, you could hear everything going on in the rooms around you and outside. I was up until 2am one night listening to a couple arguing in Spanish outside the hotel. I was surprised there was no one 'policing' to keep the noise down and reign in the more unruly kids who were climbing across their balconies to get into each others rooms! There's no hair dryer or fridge in the room and the floor gets slippery if wet.Food was limited, not labelled and repetitive. Salad was often dry. You can't have tea/coffee for lunch or dinner, only breakfast. After 3 days of poor choice, and my daughter only eating bread and ice cream for lunch, I cracked and insisted we eat out that evening. There's decent food easily found around the hotel.There's no alcohol, and you're only allowed to buy some to drink in your room, not in communal areas.The outside pool was the highlight and the kids had the best time with their friends there. However several sunbeds are broken and I pinched the skin on the back of my leg in one and still have the bruise to prove it. The grounds are poorly maintained with lots of weeds etc. The indoor pool smelt awful and looked murky. We weren't actually sure if it was suitable for use!I didn't choose to stay here, it was organised by the basketball tour. If you're in a similar situation, bring ear plugs, an eye mask, and be prepared to eat out!

    Well the hotel is clean my room was dated but was clean and tidy , towels changed every day . I paid for half board, breakfast was ok standard, the evening meal the first night was not for me poor choice plus been seating there for a while. Didn't eat a evening meal again. For the hotel was quite and that sorted me , the shops and restaurants are close cheap to eat out . Beach close by . More like a star

    One word sums it up AWFUL i read reviews and didn’t listen its like a homeless hotel , people running around banging doors screaming and shouting till 3 am people lying in the corridors talking , restaurant is the worst ever , cold food and i have never tasted scrambled egg like it !!! Not in a good way , none of the food is labelled so im a veggie and makes life extremely difficult , no water or drinks with dinner its buy your own , kids running around like its a play school , Bed sheets filty on arrival says cleaners come every day well we are on day 4 (where are they ) if you do one thing in your life listen to this reviewOnly truthful thing love holiday said about hotelLocation was extremely good Blanes is a lovely placeGo anywhere but Esplendid

    Awful experience, breakfast very bland, stains on pillow cases, so loud at night we had 3-4 hrs sleep due to the noise of people running up and down the hotel and the staff didn't care.The pool side was okay, water nice temp and clean Outside the hotel covered in cigarette butt's looked untidy.No reps at all, no staff (bar one who was a receptionist and I only saw once!) understood English If you was Spanish or French you were well looked after
