Super nice hotel with lovely workers at the reception behind the bar en the women who cleans the room we had a very good week with al lot of smiles thanks for all Felix and emmy

A great hotel for a budget break

This was a last minute cheeky week . The hotel was well placed to explore Pineda and the local area . It was wellLocated to access the train and travel to Barcelona and Girona . Lots of restaurants and small bars nearby . The reception staff were not very friendly and at times we did feel like an inconvenience , however this was made up by the bar staff on the roof top bar , who were lovely ! Breakfast was good and the hotel room was clean and comfortable ! A good budget stay !

We arrived and had to wait as our rooms were not ready which was fine. However when entering our room which was a good size for two of us, the wardrobe was filthy inside, the shelves were black so had to use tissue to clean them before putting clothes on them. There was the previous guests bag left inside the wardrobe and inside the safe we found another bag with items inside. The balcony table was dirty. The rooms were made up when we put sign on our door as in beds were made but towels were not changed as they just folded our used towels and tidy up, I had to ask the cleaner for clean towels. Floor in bathroom could not have been washed as I saw the previous guests false nails behind the bin and they were still there when we checked out earlier than we should have. The staff were so unfriendly on reception apart from one young girl. The staff in the restaurant were unfriendly, leaning over us when removing plates not saying excuse me, just very rude. the food was terrible it was like eating slops and the same everyday. We paid half board and did try the food but couldn’t face it so ate out, there is some nice restaurants around. The rooftop bar is ok for a coffee but the beer is terrible, no toilets you have to go back to your room or go down 4 floors to reception if you need the toilet. The hotel has no life, no pool table, no entertainment, one singer on a Friday who mined. If your using as a base to explore then I guess it’s ok. If your looking for a bit of life or entertainment then this is definitely not the place to holiday, and yes I should of done more research but I was expecting it to have a bit more than just cafes. Pineda De Mar is not somewhere I would return to.

We stayed at Hotel Merce for 11 nights on a bed & breakfast package.Firstly the positives:- The Reception staff, bar staff & Cleaners were all very friendly & the Reception staff were also very helpful.- The location was perfect. With the hotel being situated in the old town it was very peaceful, yet within a 5 minute walk you were on the main strip full of shops & restaurants. The beach & train station were only a 15 minute walk away. - Breakfast was varied and plentiful, a good choice of everything from cereals, fresh fruits, meats and cheeses to various sweet pastries and cooked food….. bacon, eggs, sausages & beans. There were 2 drinks machines, one for hot drinks & the other for various juices & water. - The room was just the right size for 2 of us, with a decent size balcony and a great air conditioning system which was appreciated after a day in the hot weather. Our shower room had recently been refurbished & the shower was great. - Sun beds were readily available, even in August.Now the negatives:- The pool was on the small side so you couldn’t really swim in it as it didn’t take having many people in the pool for it to be busy.- If you want to swim to cool off you need to do so in the morning because by the afternoon the pool was so warm it was like getting into a bath. (This will only apply in the hot summer months)- our room had not been deep cleaned on arrival as there were hairs on the shelves- There is no fridge in the room so no way of keeping drinks cool and there is no kettle in the room. We took our own travel kettle, mugs and tea bags & just bought longlife milk from the supermarket.- bare in mind that this hotel accepts dogs & for our last 4 days there, the family in the room next door would go out all day & leave the little dog yapping all day. Overall the positives did outweigh the negatives…….. would we stay here again…… yes we would!

Lovely rooms and pool area, but let down by noisy surroundings, unfriendly staff, and average food.

The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped, and the pool and bar area is spacious and very enjoyable. However, the staff, especially at reception, were not very welcoming, and the hotel is quite noisy. There aren't enough elevators, and the food was average in a rather dated dining room
