  Cant Complain but i wouldnt recommend

  This hotel is advertised as frontline and three star. It is neither. It is 2/3 line, as for star i would give it a one. My bed was clean the bathroom was clean but the whole experience was the very very basic as you could get. I got this Hotel at a good price (£259 full board for a week). Food was very repetative and basic but for the price i paid i couldnt complain. If I had paid more then I certainly would be. My Holiday was good. I would return to Santa Susanna it was lovely but i would not recommend this hotel. It is sandwiched in between hotels so your view from the balcony is someone elses balcony from the hotel next door and they are close. However if you have booked it and cant change dont worry to much. Apart from it being basic it is fine.

  Disappointing Stay – Cleanliness and Breakfast Let It Down”

  Unfortunately, this hotel was a real disappointment.When we first arrived, the room we were given was not clean and we were unhappy enough that we asked to be moved. We were given a larger family room, which was better in terms of space, but the overall standard still wasn’t what I would expect, even from a 3-star hotel.The beds were not particularly comfortable and the general condition and cleanliness of the room could definitely be improved. Some areas just felt tired and poorly maintained.Breakfast was also very disappointing. We had paid for breakfast as part of our stay, but the food was poor quality and we ended up not wanting to eat there. Even basic items such as the eggs were unpleasant.The entrance and communal areas of the hotel actually give quite a nice first impression, and the second room was spacious, so there are some positives. The location was also useful for getting around the area.However, cleanliness is one of the most important things for me when staying somewhere, and unfortunately this hotel fell well below what I expected. I spent part of the holiday feeling uncomfortable in the room rather than being able to properly relax.I appreciate that this is a 3-star hotel and I wasn't expecting luxury, but I do expect a clean room, reasonable beds and edible breakfast. Sadly, I wouldn't choose to stay here again.If you want, I can also make it more savage for TripAdvisor/Google ?? or a bit more measured so it looks especially credible if On the Beach sees it.

  I chose half-board which was better value than all-inclusive, given that the bar area is quiet and there are plenty of shops nearby, including a great supermarket/gift shop just next to the hotel. The beach is not far away but with the hotel being on the main road, there was noise from bars. I didn’t hear this once I closed the windows and turned on the air con.Rooms are cleaned daily with towel change. The shower is powerful and warm. Reception staff are very friendly. There is a safe in the room but it is quite expensive to hire at e38 for eight nights. The balcony could do with more furniture than a plastic chair – a bistro table and chairs would be ideal. My room also did not have a chair so I used a plastic one from the balcony. There’s a large TV with some English channels (BBC1 & 2, Channels 4 and 5).There was a good variety of food at breakfast and dinner: dinner was different each night. It was almost always possible to find a free table and the waiters cleared the tables regularly. Free carafes of water are available at dinner. I was surprised that the floor of the restaurant (in the basement) was not cleaned during my stay when it clearly needed to be.The hotel has no garden but has a pool which is quite deep and has a refreshing waterfall feature. Too many sunbeds blocked with towels: something which needs to be addressed in many places.Other guests were fine other than a large group of English schoolchildren. I drew a line when they began to bang on my door then run away. A complaint to reception did seem to work. The teachers eventually got a grip. The beach is large and shelves quickly, which is fine for a confident swimmer. Malgrat de Mar is a lovely historic town: a walk there takes you to the tourist office where they provide a map and very good advice. Santa Susanna is not far inland on foot and is also worth a visit. The local road train starts from near the hotel and is good value for e5.20 for an hour’s journey. It avoids the tourist areas and travels into the hills, which give great views of the coast.
