    We booked a two-bedroom apartment for an overnight stay in December. Apartment was spacious and clean, fairly well equipped although with only a 2 ring hob you might quickly run out of cooking options. Although it was quite a cold night, the apartment felt warm as the staff had turned on the heating prior to our arrival. The apartment blocks are set in beautiful grounds with citrus trees and small dipping pools which I am sure are lovely in summer. It is in a residential rather than a tourist area, you will need a car to get to the beach, and there are no real views from the apartments. But there are supermarkets nearby and a few local restaurants. All in all we were pleased with our stay.

    Unspoilt Costa Brava

    L’Escala is a lovely and very unspoilt area of the Costa Brava. There are several beaches, pretty little bays, Roman and Greek excavations to visit, excellent restaurants specialising in seafood, boat trips and so much more. It is not a place to visit if you want non stop night life but for those who want to see authentic Catalonia - this is it. The visitors are mainly Spanish or French as the border to France is close by. The bay has been described correctly by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful in the world.

    The appartment was very comfortable and luxurious. Everything was clean and decently. The Belgian lady from the reception was also very kind. The only points of improvement for the owner(s) are better wifi connection inside and the bathroom could get a little makeover. Otherwise very satisfied with our week at l’Escala Resort!i

    Loved this place 4 years ago. This time was disappointing as they didn’t even provide water or coffee. The receptionist was cold and borderline rude. There are many places with friendlier service around the area.

    Basic accommodation,lots of traffic noise

    Would suggest a top floor apartment (large private patio) also reduce noise from above neighbors. Adequate heating, air conditioning, comfortable bed, plenty of toiletries, basic cooking amenities (two electric rings +microwave, washing machine. Plenty of hot water and a pleasant walk in shower. Internet provided but it was slow and erratic.Gardens are well maintained and the swimming pools must be very tempting in the warmer months, (we stayed November) ample parking in side road.Located within 5 min walk to Aldi, 10 min walk to Carrefour (cheap petrol) nearby is Ca L'Enric Restaurant a must is you like local Spanish food, served by great staff at very affordable prices. Located quite a distance from the sea front and marina area's (say 20 min walk) so a car is viable.Only downside was traffic noise which in summer months must be horrendous, also the apartment (though very clean) is needing TLC as its a little dated.
