  Lovely stay

  We had a lovely stay at Meliá Lloret De Mar. We flew to Girona Airport, and a taxi took approx. 30 mins for €60. The room was lovely, and we had a sea view, which we weren't expecting! The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean. We went all-inclusive and were surprised to see the named brands included, which was a nice touch (Bombay Saphire/Jim Beam). The all-inclusive food was ok; like any all-inclusive resort, it's not amazing but perfectly acceptable to us. The desserts were even better than other all-inclusive hotels we have stayed at in the past. The pool area was quite big, and we never struggled for sun loungers! The bar staff were lovely and accommodating (poolside and inside the hotel). The snack bar around the pool was also great for mid-afternoon! There were only a couple of points where I think the hotel could improve. The tea and coffee weren't great; if we were to return in the future, we would definitely bring our own. We need a decent cuppa to start the day! What we had been supplied with didn't taste great. Even the tea/coffee machines that were at breakfast weren't much good. Also, there are water machines in the restaurant and at the side of the pool. Once these areas were shut at night, there seemed to be nowhere else to refill our water bottles. It would be nice if there were a water machine somewhere in reception. We had come back late one night and asked reception if there was anywhere we could refill our bottles, but we were told no. So we had to use a bottle from the minibar. The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from the beach. Walking down the side streets to the beach, there are plenty of shops to explore! There are bars on the beach which were lovely to sit in, and there are restaurants outside near the beachfront too. We had a lovely steak on the last night (I think it was at 12 Lounge and Restaurant). We would definitely come back and stay here again! We had a lovely time here and it was very relaxing.

  Worst Melia hotel i have ever been to. Room, comfortable bed and pillows, but terrible smell from bathroom, waited 5 hours to be fixed (maybe?) Given a bleach bottle to spray with! , shower slippery in bath (you may need a hip replacement! ), no thermostat so varies from cold to scalding hot. Food awful, meat so dry it must have been cooked days ago, chips limp and cold even though just out of the kitchen, pizza like cardboard, desserts same for 4 meals in a row, slow to replenish empty dishes, fresh whole fruit either as hard as nails or mouldy or rotten, on the plus side some staff were very attentive. Won't be ever going back there.   Had great fun at the wine & paint activity. Sofia & Putho were very welcoming & brought great energy.   A relaxing and enjoyable stay

  We had a great stay overall. The hotel is in a good location, with plenty of food and drinks (we had all inclusive package). Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, and our room was clean, quiet and had a lovely balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens.Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, and housekeeping attended daily when we left the sign on the door. The beach and town promenade are around a 10–15 minute walk away, with a beautiful sea and some lovely walks around the town.The pool was clean and relaxing, with plenty of sunbeds. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and enjoyed the hotel bar in the evenings, with friendly staff and good selection of drinks.One thing we would have liked was a little more choice of food at the pool bar. We also booked a double room but were given two single beds.   Our room dd not have a balcony which was a shock to us when booking check to make sure u have a balcony. The room was small otherwise nice. The staff were lovely. Pool lovely. Food shocking, often cold, very little variety in regards to meat. We have stayed in sol palmanova in mallorca, which is a sister hotel 3 star, but food there is excellent. Unreal variety every day and nighton food, Melia could learn a lot from them in regards to food. Public toilet in the hotel are horrendous the smell as no ventilation enough to make you gag. Location excellent, lovely hotel, drinks top brands for all inclusive. Would stay again but not all inclusive as have to eat out as food is poor.
