    Pretty good

    rating21 May 2026

If you travel on budget look no further. Hotel has a great location, well it’s really close to a railway, but is not too noisy and there are no trains late at night. Plenty of restaurants, fast food, souvenirs and ice cream shops around. Tourist info centre is just few mins walk away. Malgrat de mar beautiful town, with train to Barcelona going every 30min all day long. Hotel it self maybe not a superior, bet decent for money. Very welcoming touch was plates with snacks ready as we checked in after restaurant gets closed. Pool are is tidy, small pool-jacuzzi has nice warm water so you can jump in it even is not a very warm or sunny day. Our room was spacious enough, downside that is no double bed in quadruple room, just four separate small beds pushed together. We didn’t like beddings as there no regular duvet, just blankets with extra sheet under. Room cleaning service wasn’t particularly good, as there was some dust behind door and under beds all week. It’s getting cleaned only in between beds. We got fresh towels everyday, so it’s somewhat acceptable. Don’t know do they offer pool towels, didn’t see any. Took towels from the room. Staff is friendly, live music events every evening. Barman passing around the pool from time to time. No queues at the bar. Easy to get drinks quick. Just wondering why drinks being serving in glass wear at the pool and why there is allowed to smoke on sun-beds while there is a lot of children around? Food in restaurant is fine. Maybe being served not very hot, but had no problem with selection. Food is tasty. Our 4y old son always found something to eat. Deserts, fruits everything is great. Little complain about breakfast serving time. It could be longer, as 1.5h is not long enough for all guests and it usually very crowdy, sometimes you have to wait for a table. Another little complain about wifi, in 2026 it could and should be free everywhere in hotel not only at the bar. As we got room in a corner where mobile signal wasn’t great to use mobile data. Same with a fridge. Extra charge for it? Sounds bit like a joke. There was big students groups like 30-40 people from Poland, what causes a lot of noise in corridors, rooms and restaurant as these young people have no respect to anybody. Other than that, stay was nice. Everything from hotel side was acceptable. Our family vacation of 4 persons was really well worth the money. For those who are looking for affordable accommodation in a town on a coast line, grab this one.

    So noisy at night

    rating09 May 2026

Clean room and hotel But if you want sleep don’t go here. At night time it is so loud from guests, music, doors banging, every noise you can hear.

Average 3 ⭐ Hotel with some caveats.

    rating24 Apr 2026

Hotel Reymar Playa is an average 3 ⭐ Hotel located a stones throw away from the beach. The Pros:✅The hotel was relatively cheap. ✅The staff were polite and helpful. ✅The rooms were clean and to a good standard (although basic).✅The pool area was kept clean and you could always find a seat or sun lounger. The Cons:❌The AC in the room was mediocre, and I mean that in the sense that it blew air but it in no way cooled down the room even at the highest fan speed and Lowest temperature, we had to leave the balcony door open to allow cooper air inside. ❌The rooms lacked a hairdryer (this can be rented from the hotel reception for €5 refundable deposit)❌There was no tea coffee making facilities in the room such as a kettle. ❌Our double bed was just two single beds pushed together. ❌The hotel advertises free WiFi however this only applies to the Pool/Bar area, if you want WiFi in your room then it's an additional €5 per day. ❌The alcohol prices in the hotel while you expect to be a bit more expensive than the local bars was quite a bit more. For example the price of a pint of Amstel in the local bars was €3.80/3.90 whereas the local Spanish Beer San Miguel that can be bought significantly cheaper elsewhere was €5.50 a Pint at the hotel bar. A Pink Gin with Sprite and a Pint of San Miguel will set you back roughly €14.40 whereas this is around €11.50 in the local bars in the area. (Just be warned that if you're paying by card to make sure they don't try and charge you in your local currency opposed to Euros as it happened to myself twice before I realised and I ended up paying closer to €15.50 due to exchange fees even though the card I was using was a Euro Account so they had told the card terminal to pay in Pounds which was then converted back to Euros again. ❌We stayed room only and we're glad we did. On our 1st night we paid to go to the Hotels Buffet Dinner (€15 per person) and we regret doing that, the dining area is quite dark and a bit depressing to be in not to mention the food selection is very limited especially if you're a picky eater. We felt that we wasted €30 when the restaurants locally do much higher quality food at the same or even cheaper prices in some cases so I would recommend just going room only or bed and breakfast. Overall for the price I paid I can't complain as the hotel was grand but just be warned about what I highlighted above for anyone travelling to Margaret De Mar as I've stayed in much better 3 ⭐ Spanish Hotels but it's far from terrible.

pricing model that feels similar to budget airlines

    rating02 Oct 2025

👍 What I Liked:• The hotel grounds were clean and well-maintained.• The food was consistently good, with a decent variety and fresh ingredients.• The TV offered a number of English channels, which was a nice touch for international guests.• The beach itself was great—clean, spacious, and lively. It even came with some added entertainment courtesy of the “looky looky” men, which added a quirky charm to the experience.👎 What Needs Improvement:Location Issues:The hotel is situated less than 20 meters from a mainline train track, which is highly visible from the swimming pool area and can be disruptive. Access to the beach is only possible via an underground subway tunnel, which may not be ideal for everyone. The surrounding aera is overpopulated with souvenir shops, most of which sell identical items. There’s also a noticeable lack of daytime entertainment, which makes the area feel a bit dull during the day.Misleading Wi-Fi Access:The hotel advertises free Wi-Fi, but this is only available in a limited area near the bar. If you want access in your room, you’ll need to pay extra—per device. This falls far short of the “premier service” the hotel claims to offer.Excessive Charges:The hotel operates on a pricing model that feels similar to budget airlines—everything comes with an extra fee:• Safe box rental was €25 for 7 days, whereas other hotels I’ve stayed at offered this for free or at a lower cost (e.g., €15 in Benidorm).• Fridge access in the room came with an additional charge—something I’ve never encountered before.• Even hairdryers and extra pillows were not included unless paid for. These hidden costs made the stay feel less budget-friendly than advertised. In hindsight, it might be more cost-effective to book a higher-end hotel where these amenities are included upfront. Please note depending on what website you are looking on these are shown as features in the roomVery early check out The hotel operates a very early check out policay of 10AM the earliest I have expreciced in other hotel is 11am Overall Verdict:While the hotel has its strengths in cleanliness, food quality, and beach access, the combination of location drawbacks, misleading service claims, and excessive charges made the experience less enjoyable. I’d recommend this hotel only if you're fully aware of the extra costs and are okay with the limited daytime entertainment options in the area
