  Definitely not a 4-star hotel in our experienceUnfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. We’re not particularly demanding when it comes to luxury and we can overlook many small things, but there were simply too many problems here.The first unpleasant surprise came immediately after arriving. When we pulled back the covers on what was supposed to be a clean, freshly prepared bed, we found someone else’s hair and even nail clippings in it. For us, this is no longer about outdated facilities – it’s about basic hygiene.After complaining, we were given another room. Unfortunately, we found hair in the bed there as well, although not as much. On top of that, I slept on a bed whose leg kept falling off, so we had to keep putting it back in place.The biggest disappointment, however, was the food. We had booked full board, but after our first experiences we ended up eating outside the hotel and paying for meals elsewhere.The selection was quite limited, much of the food was fried or seemed to be made from frozen convenience products, and some of the meat had a very strange taste and texture. The ham and cheese were often dried out after sitting uncovered for a long time, and some of the fruit was rotten or even mouldy. We reported the condition of the food on our very first day, but unfortunately we didn’t notice any improvement during the rest of our stay.Breakfast was the only meal we found reasonably acceptable. It was okay, but the quality and selection were more what I would expect from an average guesthouse, definitely not a 4-star hotel.There were also several maintenance issues. During our first shower, part of the shower fixture came off. The air conditioning made loud banging noises when running, so we preferred not to use it. We also experienced problems with the electricity during our stay.Another disappointment was the gym. A fitness centre was listed in the holiday description and it was actually one of the reasons we chose this hotel. When we arrived, we discovered that there was no gym at all.Overall, the hotel felt outdated and, more importantly, poorly maintained. We wouldn’t have minded older furniture or a less modern hotel. But dirty beds with someone else’s hair and nail clippings, a bed with a leg that kept falling off, maintenance issues, and food that made us prefer eating elsewhere despite having paid for full board are not minor issues.Based on our experience, this hotel does not meet the standard we would expect from a 4-star property, and we definitely wouldn’t choose it again. What disappointed us most was paying for full board and then spending a significant part of our holiday trying to find somewhere else to get a decent meal.

  Rude staff, no helpful information lies on what they got food is terrible I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog. Drinks were awful had to constantly go out for a decent drink even though we were all inclusive, no entertainment, no space at all, one pool …. Very small. Doesn’t do pool snacks, not very clean, definitely not a 4 star hotel more like a 1 star hotel. Everything that good about this hotel is the shops and beach is close by

  They show 4 * but it is far from 4 Rooms poor , very dated , not to clean either.No English tv , only Spanish .No kettle no iron in the room .The only good thing it is location- close to shops restaurants and beach Would back to callers but to different hotel

  Please, if you are considering booking Summer Hotel Calella, save yourself the stress and disappointment and look elsewhere. This place is an absolute disaster.From the moment we arrived, our room was crawling with ants. Not just a few – they were everywhere: on the bed, under the pillows, on the walls. After what felt like a battle with the staff, we were finally moved to another room, but things only got worse.The “new” room had no electricity. Every time we came back, the power was off. When we complained, we were told to “flick the switch” on the circuit board ourselves – completely unsafe and unacceptable. I refused, and instead my partner had to go downstairs constantly so staff could switch it back on. Can you imagine wasting part of your holiday every single day just to beg for electricity?The food… honestly, I have no words. Stone cold, covered in flies, and barely any variety. We were all-inclusive and couldn’t even bring ourselves to eat there more than once. That should say it all.The pool was never cleaned. A piece of paper floated in it from the day we arrived until the day we left – untouched, like everything else in this hotel.The noise was unbearable. I suffer from epilepsy, and sleep is absolutely vital for me. Yet it was impossible to rest. Every night there were people screaming, fighting, and running up and down the corridors until the early hours. Staff made no effort to step in – instead, they just kept pouring out alcohol with zero limits, fueling the chaos.We complained through Love Holidays, only for the hotel to respond with lies, claiming they had sent an electrician to fix the issue. They hadn’t. Nothing was ever resolvedThis hotel ruined our holiday. It is unsafe, dirty, noisy, and completely mismanaged. Please, avoid this place at all costs – it is nothing but a nightmare and certainly not 4*

  Amazing Stay!

  We came here for 6 days and it was amazing! The food was delicious and a good range of food. Santiago the bar man was so lovely and made you feel welcome. All the staff were very nice. Andrea was so helpful.The rooms were very clean, cleaned everyday and very spacious. We don’t have any bad things to say about this hotel. We were uncertain due to other reviews but i cannot agree with the bad reviews at all. Would recommend and would definitely return!!
