Very nice hotel, good location,, excellent service. Swimming pool, enough sunbeds, food in restaurant very good, clean and cosy.I had the rooftop room with shower and large terrace. Really enjoyed the large loungebedBeach and train station nearby

Excellent experience at Sumus hotel

We have just returned from a lovely week away in Sumus hotel. Here is my honest review:Location- very good location in the middle of town, with restaurants, bars and shops on the door step. The yellow sand beach is 10- 15 min walk away. There is also a lovely walk along the beach on the public path. The train station is around 5 min away, where you can travel to Barcelona and Girona, which are around 1 hour away by train.Trips- we visited Montserrat church and monastery by the organised trip, which we arranged through the hotel reception. The beautiful church is in the mountains. This is a holy place, which is breath takingly spectacular! The church is so beautiful. You can see the Madonna in the church, who is the patron of the church. I would highly recommend the visit. Food - excellent. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are of excellent quality and varied. My compliments to the chef! Bar- very good. We were all inclusive. You have to show your room card every time you order drinks. Bar staff are very friendly, and will bring drinks to your table or your sun bed.Pool area- kept clean. The swimming pool is not very big. We visited in October and there were plenty of empty sunbeds. There's also a small pool for young children, although this hotel appears to be primarily aimed to cater for adults.Rooms- quite spacious, and cleaned daily. Towels changed also daily if you leave your towels on the floor. The cleaners work very hard.Entertainment- aimed at adults. There were singers most days, and one magic show. In my opinion, the singers were average and quite boring, but the majuc show was really fun! The magician was very entertaining and the room was full of guests, watching his act! I would suggest to reduce singing acts and bring in more magic, dance and acrobats!Overall, we loved our stay at Sumus hotel. I would recommend this hotel.

Underwhelming and should not be classed as all inclusive

All inclusive is not all inclusive, you can only have drinks that do not have a star by them, so a lot of soft drinks were not included as part of all inclusive option.Most Staff were not warm or welcoming, very different to other hotels we have stayed in.Rooms are small and walls are paper thin that you can hear a full conversation of those in room next door. There was black mould in bathroom and around the edges of sink was dirty on arrival to room Our feet were dirty within a few minutes of being in our room. Other parts of hotel were clean, such as bar/ entrance/ pool area.The pool is no where near as big as pictured but it was too cold to use. Main message after travelling to a lot of all inclusive hotels this should not be considered as such. Over all Very underwhelming.

Good all round experience good food would suggest going out to eat Friday to Sunday as restaurant is over crowded and food standard slips but overall a great comfortable hotel clean and friendly

Booked this hotel last year so well in advance for a weeks get away with my son who is 26 years old and mildly Autistic based on the trip advisor reviews . Having travelled to Palma de Mallorca, Cala Bona , Cala Millor and Alcudia several times this year and last we thought we would try the Costa Brava , this is where we personally went wrong ! Yes the hotel is spotlessly clean , yes there is a varied menu at breakfast and in the evening but other than that nothing stood out at this hotel for us . The hotel is near the train station and beach and a few shops and bars but other than that there is zero to do in the surrounding area unless you keep paying €10 + for train tickets out of Pineda de Mar . We did and travelled to Calella and Blanes . We also got the train to Santa Susanna and Margret de Mar for something to do . The pool is much smaller than the picture depicts and the sun loungers are hit and miss if you get one that isn’t bowing in the middle or that reclines upwards for comfort . As previously mentioned there is a scrum at 9am to get a sunbed ( which we didn’t do in the end as we couldn’t be bothered ) but we saw sunbeds left unattended all day reserved with a towel ! We spent the time we had at the beach as a result . The evening entertainment is very poor with singers all week basically singing the same set of songs and a magic show which is great if you are 5 or under ! All in all for us personally we would absolutely not return to this hotel nor to Costa Brava itself there are much nicer areas of Spain .. a very disappointing holiday for us I’m afraid . Sorry just being honest.
