    Fantastic

I Just spent a few days at this fabulous resort. From start to finish the staff were absolutely fantastic, happy, friendly and could not do enough to make our mini break unforgettable. The rooms are very well appointed, beautiful quality bed linen, robes and toiletries, it met our every need. The hotel itself and the facilities are second to none! We had B&B throughout our stay and dinner there one evening, I could recommend their buffet highly. Fantastic variety of fresh produce, of a very high quality. I will be looking forward to returning in the future. Thank you all so much for making our stay a truly unforgettable experience!

    Good, but not quite excellent.

    rating16 Apr 2026

On the whole this is a lovely place, the staff are wonderfully friendly, the place is spotlessly clean, the views are lovely. The food is good and the facilities are excellent, just a few niggles that could be better and would make the place exceptional. The first one is the toilet in the room. You need to know the person you are sharing with very very well and have no problems or concerns using the toilet in front of them or anyone else who maybe in the room! A frosted glass door on a tiny toilet cubicle. Which has no lock and a gap around the edge is all that separated you from the rest of the apartment. The whole shower, Washroom and toilet is open plan and exposed to the rest of the room. It's not nice for anyone. The indoor pool is very expensive and not included in ghe price. €25 for 2 hours. When we went it was April, the outside pool. Which was lovely, was very very cold, 11⁰!! It was too cold to use. And the indoor pool was too expensive so essentially until it heats up outside there is no pool. Parking is also expensive, there is an underground car park which is €5 euro per night, it's a bit of a walk to the apartment we were in, but if you want to park near the appt it's €25 per night. I understand that they don't want excess cars on the site, but not sure why I was paying to use the underground car park?Dinner is great, lots of lovely food, but there are no drinks provided at dinner. Only water, no juice or coffee, which is free at breakfast but not available at dinner??Sorry I sound like a moan, the place is lovely, and I would go back, but a few simple tweaks would make it that little bit better. Hotel Manager, Owner at Zel Costa Brava, responded to this review Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to comment on your visit to Zel Costa Brava. We get the shower’s open design isn’t for everyone, and the indoor pool pricing covers year-round heated access while April’s outdoor pool stays chilly. Parking fees support maintaining the site, and dinner focuses on water to highlight our seafood, though we’re considering new drink options. For your next visit, you may want to consider our Casa Zel Two-Bedroom category, which offers two bathrooms, providing a bit more privacy and comfort.Looking forward to your next visit. All the best,Emilia M., Zel Costa Brava Team

food and cleaning of the room not satisfactory

    rating24 Aug 2025

This hotel is too expensive for what it is. Even at a lower price point, some things are not acceptable. The cleaning of the room was non-existent, and even on first day there were still a lot of dust from the past. A look under the bed is sufficient to understand. The food was awful and only a fraction of the staff is friendly. The beach is too small. The only advantage is the GR92 nearby where you can go for long walks. Hotel Manager, Owner at Zel Costa Brava, responded to this review Dear guest, Thanks for your feedback. We're glad you appreciated our prime location along the scenic hiking trails. We apologize that our cleanliness and dining didn't meet your expectations - we offer daily housekeeping and fresh Mediterranean cuisine. Our intimate beach setting and comprehensive resort amenities are designed to provide a valuable Mediterranean experience. We take note of your comments, which help us to improve every day.We hope that you will return in the future for a more enjoyable stay. Kind regards,Emilia M., Voice of Customer Coordinator

Staff(that begrudgingly helped us) were very rude!

    rating05 Aug 2025

Beautiful hotel, but would not return. Whilst the hotel itself seemed luxurious, from what I saw(I only entered to reception area), the few members of staff that I encountered were not welcoming at all! Quite rude in fact. My son and I were advised to go the the reception of the hotel(by the staff at the beach bar) as we needed to get a taxi back to the main town, having arrived by boat. On entering the reception area, three members of staff completely ignored us, so I asked the next one for some help. She(in particular) was very abrupt and clearly not happy with my asking her to help us with ordering an uber.. as someone who has visited many hotels across the world, first impressions are the most important ones and due to the one I got from Zel, I would not return. For a five star hotel, the staff need to be five star also. Hotel Manager, Owner at Zel Costa Brava, responded to this review Hello, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We're delighted that you found our hotel beautiful and luxurious - our Mediterranean architecture and natural materials are indeed designed to create a stunning first impression.Regarding your experience with our team, I am truly sorry that we fell short of our usual service standards. Our staff is trained to provide warm, attentive assistance to all guests, whether staying with us or visiting. We hope you will return for an improved experience in the future. Best wishes,Martina P., Voice of Customer Coordinator

Wonderful relaxing and active family holiday

    rating21 Jul 2025

We have just returned from a fantastic family break in Zel Costa Brava. We participated in many of the activities on offer from yoga to paddle surfing, our kids loved the sports. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. There are a lot of steps (which was not an issue for us) but also a funicular that would transport you up and down from the main building to the beach and tennis courts. The food was delicious, healthy with lots of choice. We loved the relaxed feel of the beach restaurant. Paella with a view! Hotel Manager, Owner at Zel Costa Brava, responded to this review Hi there,Thanks for the awesome review. It's fantastic to hear that you embraced our active lifestyle offerings - from serene yoga sessions to exciting paddle surfing adventures! Our dedicated team takes pride in creating these memorable moments, and your kind words about their helpfulness warm our hearts.Regarding the steps, yes, our Mediterranean home is nestled on natural terraces, but as you mentioned, our convenient funicular ensures smooth transitions between the main building, beach, and tennis courts.Your appreciation of our culinary offerings brings a smile to our faces - there's truly nothing like savoring a authentic paella while gazing at the Mediterranean Sea from our beach restaurant! It would be awesome to see you again very soon! 🌴All the best,Caroline P., Voice of Customer Coordinator
