    Amazing view but poor service

    rating18 Jun 2017

Hotel location is really nice, by the beach and our room on the top floor has an amazing view of the oldtown. We came by car and there was easy to find the free parking nearby (considered that the area didnt seemed crowded). The reception staff at the check-in wasnt really talkative but way different at the check-out, they even gave us the entrance to the spa and fresh towels to shower after the day on the beach. The equipment of the appartment is basic with plastic plates rolled in plastic paper, which was terrible and completely unnecessary and environmental unfriendly. The keycard system was so noisy that we had to put out the card during the night (and not be able to charge our devices). Even though we booked for three persons there were dishes and balcony equipment just for two and we had to make the third bed out of sofa by ourselvesThe hotel is advertised with the pool but unfortunately its location is down the street somewhere.Food in the restaurant was ok for the dinner and terrible for breakfast (cold eggs, at least two or three days old bread) and with the staff barely speak any English. Very reasonable price, but the service should be way better for a 4star hotel.

    Nice Rooms

    rating16 May 2017

When we arrived we were very impressed with the rooms. They were more like apartments, with separate bedroom which had en-suite bathroom, kitchenette, lounge/dining area and separate toilet with wash hand basin. We were not impressed with the fact we were probably the only English speaking guests, and were not catered for at all. Buffet meals were aimed solely at the Spanish, and very boring and bland.Entertainment was in the main dancing to Spanish music. I would not recommend this hotel to any English holiday makers. There was no pool, if you wanted to swim you had to go to another hotel about 200 metres away. The hotel is virtually on the beach, but when we visited there no sunbeds or umbrellas for hire.

    Cheap and cheerful

    rating09 Apr 2013

Out of season, this aparthotel was full of Spanish holiday-makers on package tours. We were able to park immediately outside the hotel. We had a room with a balcony on the top floor. There was an empty plunge pool on the balcony - rather dangerous, but the view over the sea and to the old town and castle was magnificent. The suite of rooms was cheaply furnished. The bedroom was small but the bathroom was big and there was a lounge area and kitchenette. Breakfast and dinner were buffets, canteen-like but with lots to eat. Incredibly cheap and very handy for the wonderful Peniscola beach.

    Very good value

    rating24 Sept 2009

We arrived in a thunderstorm and had a problem because we couldn’t park near the hotel but the weather and parking were our biggest problems. The staff were friendly, the hotel is very well organised and we were extremely pleased with our small apartment. We had full-board and were well satisfied with the choice of food and service. Altogether we spent 8 days on the spanish coast in 7 different hotels and this was one of our favourites, it was also the quietest hotel at night. As we only slept there one night it is hard to evaluate some of the points below but the hotel was extremely good value.
