  Decent but has some glaring disappointments.

  Good location, lobby and food area is clean. My room was recently "updated" meaning new carpet and furniture. It still had old and stained ceiling fan, switch covers, the AC/Heat unit smelled bad and very noisy. The pool closed as usual. The bed is fair but the pillows are terrible. Everything is fairly clean but the updates fell flat. We will be looking for another hotel for future visits.

  Hotel has seen much better days. It was pretty filthy and rundown. Shower backed up with gunk when used, both toilets broke, furniture in room stained and gross, vents stuffed with gunk, mattress had a smiley face drawn on it and lipstick smears. One saving grace is we did not see any bugs. Remodel is ongoing and it severely needs it. Despite the condition of the hotel, the staff was actually awesome. They were all very helpful and friendly. They made our two night stay more bearable. This was a required team hotel so we didn’t have a choice in accommodations.

  So appreciated being treated like Hilton VIP’s by AGM Andrea in this wonderful Homewood (and we should know, we have over 600 Hilton nights). It’s laid out in a very user-friendly manner with easy access to the main lobby where you will be treated to the best breakfast in all the land. Parking surrounds the property and it’s well-lit and safe. Surrounded by trees, it’s a peaceful oasis from the hectic pace of Raleigh. Staff could not be friendlier, making sure all your needs — and wants — are met. Good show, AGM Andrea!

  Too many problems for the price.

  First the positives. The hotel is in a quiet, secluded area just off the main highway. I saw no issues with housekeeping. Check-in/check-out was smooth.Now the not so good stuff. The AC struggled, and it wasn't even that hot outside. The room temperature lowered by one degree over the sixteen hours we were in the room. What is it going to be like later this summer when temps are 95-100 deg. out?The ceiling fan in the king bedroom would not initially start. I spun the blades and got it to start (indicates bad capacitor).The light in the shower in the king bedroom kept cycling on and off.The elevator in the lobby area is broke. We had to go to the other end of the floor to use another elevator. While not a big deal for me, my wife has mobility issues and it took her a while to get to the other side.For the price we paid for a one night stay, I am disappointed and will never come back here.

  Below Expectations: Convenient Location but Room Deficiencies Overshadow the Experience

  My recent 5-night stay had mixed results. On the positive side, the secluded location offered a quiet atmosphere while still being within walking distance to a mall with numerous dining and shopping options. The digital experience was seamless - using the Hilton app for check-in and as a digital room key was convenient and efficient. The elevators functioned perfectly throughout my stay.Unfortunately, several issues with my room detracted from the overall experience:- My room was never cleaned during the entire 5-night stay- The bathroom sink light remained non-functional the entire time- Only one electrical outlet in the bedroom worked properly.While I encountered cigarette odors in the hallway and cigarette butts in the stairwell, I understand this reflects on guest behavior rather than hotel management. The breakfast was adequate though unremarkable, and the public spaces were well-maintained.Having read negative reviews about cleanliness before my arrival, I came with lowered expectations. However, I didn't experience any cleanliness issues. But, the room maintenance issues still fell below what seemed reasonable.
