Lovely Hotel run by a Great Team

    rating22 Oct 2025

My wife, myself and my daughter had a really wonderful holiday here. The hotel is quite new, bright and clean. But the best thing about it is the superb team who run it. The receptionists, the chefs and the housekeeping staff all made us feel very welcome and were so hard-working and conscientious and all were such nice people! The food here is superb. We were planning to often eat out, expecting the hotel food to be standard and boring, but it was so good that we eat all the time in house. With delicious lunchtime paellas and freshly cooked local fish, meat and exotic dishes along with imaginative vegetable dishes and salads, and a great breakfast buffet, nobody could fail to be impressed. The location is great, right opposite the beach and a two minute walk to the heart of the vibrant, beautiful town. Thank you for a truly memorable week's holiday!!

    Castellon experience

    rating04 Mar 2025

We stayed at the Castillo de Peniscola for a long weekend at the beginning of March. The hotel is the cleanest and best kept hotels we have ever stayed in, all the staff from reception, dining room, bar and cleaning staff were all very friendly and efficient. We took advantage of the half board option and wasn't disappointed. The choice of food was fantastic and very good quality, the vegetables were a little luke warm but these can be warmed up in the microwave whilst you're waiting for your meat/fish to be cooked. It was a little hectic at breakfast with everyone trying to access the same area for hot drinks, toast and microwave but other than that you can enjoy a leisurely breakfast. The room was very clean with a comfortable bed and great shower and a balcony with a view of the castle and ocean. We arrived in Peniscola from Castellon airport by taking the bus to Torreblanca then train to Benicarlo, a taxi from Benicarlo to Peniscola was 18 euros although the bus does also stop outside. We also visited the Castle for 5 euros and took a lovely stroll around the old town. We took a bus ride to Visaro where we sampled some fantastic seafood. The reception staff kindly booked a taxi from the hotel to the airport which cost 65 euros, much cheaper than online. Whilst we were unfortunate to experience the resort at low season during a cold and wet spell, I think this would be a lovely place to enjoy the sun in the summer time!

One of the best hotels experience in Spain.

    rating23 Oct 2023

The cleanest and best interior finishing quality hotel I have seen in Spain! Personnel active and notices details, rooms clean and fresh, cleaning quality excellent, walls and doors noise isolation level great. Breakfast and dinner quality good, (only suggestion would be adding basic veggies like cucumber and tomato to breakfast selection). Location excellwnt and easy to access. Parking secure and isolated. Best stay of Spanish approx 20 hotels I have seen. Also beats some 5 star specimens.

    A good and memorable stay

    rating24 Sept 2023

We really enjoyed our visit. Excellent location just near the beach and a short walk to the old town. We enjoyed the buffet style food in the hotel's restaurant. The room was small but had everything we needed. We were there during the "Moors and Christians" festival - a highlight especially with the fireworks and costumed groups in the parade. The resort and hotel is popular with the Spanish and French is often easier to communicate with as a second language rather than English - although don't be put off if you only speak English. Long day trips to Valencia and Morella were also highlights but an especially long day visiting Valencia. The trains work reliably. Taxi from Benicarlo station to the hotel was 18 euros. A good and memorable trip.

A stylish hotel with spartan design, stunning sea views, and a fantastic location right next to the seafrontLOCATION: Located in the heart of North beach and with easy access to the castle and all key points of interestDINE + DRINK: Lovely rooftop bar that is not to be missed as well as a chilled-out cafe /lounge near the lobby - both with stunning views of the castle and oceanROOM: We stayed in Room 301, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Million-dollar views of the sea and castle from the cute balcony attached to the room; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; AIR-CON: Perfectly functioning cooler that helped in setting the perfect room temperature; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting me to sleep; BATHROOM: Stand-in shower; TOILETRIES: Good cosmeticsFACILITIES: The biggest letdown was the very pool ‘Gym’ which was nothing more than a tiny room with a couple of worn-out machines! The outdoor pool was decentSERVICE: Friendly staff that took care of all our needs with a smile and made us feel pampered and well taken care of. Special Shout out to ANGELA at the front office for enhancing our stayHOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free LOW-SPEED Wi-Fi (around 10 Mbps) that works well all over the property. Huge Plasma TV screen dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment - PRIMARILY IN SPANISH ONLY!
