  I had a great stay at the Hyatt in Cartagena. From the moment I arrived, the service stood out—especially Dina at reception, who was incredibly welcoming and helpful. She made check-in smooth and set the tone for the entire experience.The location is a huge plus. There’s a convenient grocery store right behind the hotel, a major mall right next door, and the beach is directly across the street—everything you need is within walking distance.The hotel pool was also a highlight—clean, relaxing, and perfect for unwinding after a day out. It had the most amazing views of the beach as well and there were 2 pools one was an infinity pool

  The perfect view of the Boca Grande from its special perch

  When I was in Cartagena many years ago, this area of the Boca Grande was not visited as Tourists all went to the old town. This hotel is in a prime position on a beautiful stretch of Beach, and the luxury inside is second to none. The views are spectacular, and the pools seem to be hanging off the edges, so you can feel the ocean just outside. The rooms have everything, the staff is so helpful and there’s a pretty nice spa as well! If you’re on an executive floor, you can enjoy a buffet of treats at breakfast and at happy hour, and I would certainly recommend this! Having said that, the dining rooms are also special places for anytime! In Cartagena, you can enjoy both worlds, the old one with its history and castles, and this more newly developed side with its luxurious conveniences.   I had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Regency Cartagena. The hotel is impeccable—very clean, modern, and luxurious—with excellent security. My room was fantastic, almost like a small apartment, featuring a foyer/entryway, a walk-through bathroom leading to the closet area, and a desk with a comfortable sitting chair.The location is very convenient: it’s right next to a shopping mall and just steps from many businesses and other hotels along the Bocagrande strand. The walled city is only about a $5 Uber ride away.The hotel does have a somewhat unusual layout. The lobby is on the 11th floor, and there’s a separate set of elevators to reach the rooms, so you need to use two elevator banks whenever you go to or from your room. Also, while the property is excellent, it doesn’t particularly reflect Cartagena’s local character—if you’re looking for a truly authentic, local feel, this hotel feels more like an international chain that could be anywhere in the world.I had food and drinks at the pool, which were good, though I did not try the hotel’s restaurants. Overall, it’s a luxurious, convenient, and comfortable option in Bocagrande.   Wonderful final few days of our Columbian vacation.

  We stayed at the Hyatt Cartagena for the last leg of our trip to Columbia. The hotel stay was beyond our expectations as the hotel staff were all very patient and responsive even to some of our unusual requests.
