    Lovely facilities superb accommodation

    We had a great stay recently at this hotel. Accommodation was impressive we went for deluxe apartment which was perfect for a family with two teenage girls. Really large flat with well equipped kitchen and huge lounge area. Beds super comfy and shower amazing. Really lovely and quiet with blackout blinds throughout. Swimming pool ( heated) and loungers were lovely and the outdoor jacuzzi was a bonus. Indoor spa also lovely - we enjoyed the ice bath ! Food choice at dinner was a little restricted but ok it was a small restaurant with small buffet area. Lovely fruit selection at breakfast and coffee good too. Hotel very quiet - probably too quiet for us but it was relaxing and we were out of season so it’s to be expected. Had a lovely day trip to Portugal - the hotel is only 20 min drive from the border. Sea was warm and clear in Portugal but less so in Islantilla, still lovely though. We were super lucky with the weather. Big thank you to the reception staff who called me last week to say they’d found my daughter’s cuddly elephant which had been inadvertently swept up with the bedding one day and sent to the laundry. We really didn’t think we’d see it again and my daughter was very sad as it was a childhood toy. I was delighted when they rang me last week to tell me. They promptly posted it back to our home in England and it arrived this morning. That’s service for you - truly going above and beyond . Thank you

    The hotel is nice, the apartment is spacious and comfortable, however there was no hot water, we stayed for 1 night and we couldn't shower because the water was cold, we spoke with reception on the day we arrived and again next day morning, by the time that the plumber came around to fix it, it was time to checkout, really disappointed and not what I was expecting for a hotel of this kind.Absolutely ridiculous.

    Could be a 4* hotel but's it's not. Location was good and the apt was spacious. Female staff were friendly and helpful.Breakfast was poor. The hot buffet was cold. The choice was very poor. I asked form an omelette and they said they couldn't make it. For 4* you would expect better. The bacon was like leather! At lunch time we ordered club sandwiches and they came out with dead lettuce and the offcuts of the chicken. Very poor. Some of the male staff were very rude and had very poor english. We tried to book spa treatments before we arrived but the website would not allow it. When we arrived they were all booked out. We will not be returning.

    We went after seeing a Black Friday offer of 117 euros in a deluxe room including breakfast and dinner. We already us ether Spa as we live locally and chose a night in the hotel as a break from cooking and to use the Spa. I loved the sauna and ice pool and my wife the infrared pod etc. The room was nice with a very comfortable bed and a nice Tera e to sit out on and enjoy the winter sunshine. The food was the problem though. We where told dinner was included however when we got there we where not in the dining room which is just to the side of the reception which we looked at while making the reservation and looking forward to sitting in there and being served a meal. Instead it was a self service buffet. The tiniest little dried por chops and some half chicken wings with rice or some cod (basque style) which my wife tried. It was very acidic and tasted like fried tomatoes (tomate frito) straight out of tin. There was some pre cooked spaghetti delightfully drying away under the heat lamps and again that red tomato sauce, some frozen chips and cheap croquettes brought miserably to life with fried only to sit there going dry. At no point in making the booking did any mention this type of food. We eat in the local village a menu of the day including wine or beer for 11 euros which is infinitely bette than the shockingly poor food they served. Breakfast was actually ok with fruit and the usual fried eggs and bacon, bread and baby croissants. Needless to say we went to pavarotties a local Italian restaurant for dinner as did another party of four who took one look at the buffet and didn’t even try it.Staff whee great in the hotel and friendly enough but the food !!Nos hemos sentado un poco engañado !!     Very pleasant stay. Great for families with kids, with a great animation team especially Paqui and Carolina (my kid loves them).The apartment was great and the food was good.The only less good review is regarding the limit of one hour per day in the spa (including the indoor pool).
