A relaxing week in the Sun ☀️

    rating19 Apr 2017

We stayed here for one week. Manuel, one of the waiters in the hotel, was so naturally funny & very helpful. We stayed on the 6th floor, with a sea view room. Our balcony had a glass barrier, which helped with seeing the stunning view of the sea, even from the very comfortable bed in our room. Only floor 6 had the glass balcony, the other floor levels had 2 concrete bars, which hinders the view. We slept with the door open to the balcony, listening to the sounds of the waves breaking on the sandy beach. This destination has an amazing stretch of sandy beach. We walked a good 14 miles & still the sandy beach went on... Beautiful relaxing location! A total unwind. Bliss!! Sergio R, Director de Relaciones con Clientes at Hotel Flamero, responded to this review Thank you very much for your sincere opinion! At Flamingo Hotel we are proud to welcome guests like you. See opinions like this keeps us working on this line.A big hug from the whole team, and another stronger from Manuel :)

    Nice Place

    rating23 May 2013

The hotel is large and is in a nice location. The winter months are very dead and quiet but relaxing at the same time. The summer is a whole different animal. Tons of people and lots to do, especially with the pool being open. The staff is awesome and very helpful. Overall a very nice place with great views.

    Interesting Experience

    rating19 Mar 2011

I was a solo traveller visiting a friend in the area the Flamero was a nice hotel but due to the out of season visit i would not pick this hotel to stay again for the following reasonsI found it mainly suitable for older people and normally i wouldnt mind that but the constant banging of hotel doors and fighting for the lift did wear thin on me by the end as well as fighting for a very unorgained line in the buffet resturant.the room very nice clean with sea view was beautiful shame it rained most of my stay but in high season would have been lovely. although i had a nice note in the room that said the kitchenette was out of order! meaning the fridge didnt work nor did the cooker! whih meant i couldnt store my own food had i not got up in time for breakfast which i found pretty bad considering it is an apartment this facility should have been working. In addition to this the tv didnt work and neither did the heating unit! i had to wrap up warm.Wifi access was available but only on the 8th floor longe area which i found a bit poor if your gonna have wifi access the point of it is to use it wherever u want to within the hotel area and that was rather limiting as the lounge closed at 12pm! the resturant was good the quality and choice was ok for myself being quite a fussy eater i found thing to eat alot of salad choice but i found breakfast rather limited with choice would have been nice to see some cereals as well as cooked breakfast.all in all i had a plasant enough stay at the Flamero but i wouldnt choose it again had good facilites but would have been nice to have to have a hairdryer in the room! but the supermarket and gift shop was a nice touch.

    Good hotel in Matalascanas

    rating02 Oct 2008

I know the Flamero hotel for more than 10 years. It is quite a big complex and after the world exhibition 1992 in Seville, they sold some of their appartements. As my uncle is the owner of one, we normally stay there. As it is rented at the moment, we reserved a usual room in the Flamero. We stayed for 3 days at the end of September. The location of the hotel is very good. Walking along the beach promenade, you need 20 minutes to the centre of Matalascañas. The hotel is located at first row to the beach. The hotel offers also a swimming pool, one for adults and another one for children. At least in September, enough free space on the hotel parking was available. The hotel has different types of rooms. Standard double rooms and also special rooms with fridge/ stove. You can specify at the reservation, what you want to have. We clearly asked for a room with kitchenette. This is also what we got and were also bit disappointed because there is no soap for cleaning or foam to wash the dish. This means you have to buy everything on your own if you really want to cook. Our room type was one of the renovated ones (as they told us), and the bath was really very beautiful. A bad point is that in the renovated rooms, they do not have a safe installed anymore, but you can leave your papers in the hotel safe at the reception if you want.By the way, depending on your booking, it is possible that they charge you extra for sea view (8Euro / day). If you are interested in sea view, send them a mail to ask for it/ check if you have to pay additionally. The staff is very friendly and helpful, my mail request was answered fast and also my request for a hair dryer (not in the room) was treated fast. The breakfast has a big variety for a 3 star hotel, you find marmalade, different types of bread, sausages, eggs,.. It was therefore disappointing that the coffee and the orange juice were of very bad quality. As we were only some days in Spain, we skipped hotel breakfast and went to a bar nearby. There is an internet corner available but they charge you 1 Euro for 20 minutes. For my understanding, this price is quite high, being a guest in the hotel. Therefore I went to an Internet shop in the centre of Matalascañas. Summarizing, the room is a good value what you get for it, nevertheless there are some points which should be improved.
