  A fabulous resort. The pools are fantastic. The rooms very comfortable. A wide range of food options for all guests. Although the restaurant was very busy there was always some where to sit. The entertainment was varied but good. It would have been nice for the children’s entertainment to be in English as well as Spanish.   Worst holiday and experience for a parent

  Likely the worst holiday and experience we’ve had. On the first night we were awoken in the middle of the night by a six ft Spanish man who couldn’t speak English stood in our room near our baby having broken in, or so we thought. I went immediately to reception to who stated it was maintenance, why wasn’t my do not disturb on after we’d gone to bed and seemed to not be worried that a man with no safeguarding checks at all was near my sleeping baby and had access to let himself in any room with a baby. There is no safeguarding at this hotel for children or women and there is a real risk something will inevitably happen. We couldn’t use the balcony due to the air con issue with the door and the door of our room being intermittently broken and due to balcony glass being so loose my 22 month old could put it out to. Create a gap at their height 2 floors up! Reported all to jet2 opened a formal complaint and still awaiting an outcome. Hotel claimed they’d changed policy to not go in rooms but 3 days after our incident we witnessed another family having a male enter their room without their consent either!   This was our first visit and we were so impressed with everything.Checking in was seamless and as we arrived at 10 pm the staff told us to put our bags in a locked room and go and get something to eat and drink, this was very much appreciated.The room was fine and had everything we needed including slippers, bathrobes and bottles of water and juice. I would add the access to the building had ramps as did the restaurants/bars, swimming pools and even the roof top bar in building 3 for people in wheelchairs. The location was super with a great beach less than a couple of minutes away. The staff were excellent and a special word to Sophia from the roof top bar who helped us with our limited Spanish (thank you). The food was varied and as I like sea food I was in heaven. The drinks available were also very good. We did go out and the reception staff and the Jet2 rep were very helpful. All in all a great holiday and we will be returning.   A real hidden gem.

  What a fantastic surprise the Best Hotel Casta Ballena was.It was booked last minute through a travel operator as a package. Having never been to this area of Spain before it was a real surprise to discover totally unspoilt authentic Spain with beautiful beaches and some traditional architecture in the village.The beaches ran for miles of soft golden sands and I saw no litter on the beaches at all.The hotel certainly lived upto its 4 star rating with clean rooms, numerous pools and plenty of subbeds. The whole place was spotlessly clean and staff friendly, although predominantly Spanish speaking we managed and the locals really appreciated my efforts of pigeon Spanish.We stayed all inclusive which I would strongly recommend as the food at this place is outstanding, certainly the best holiday hotel food I’ve ever experienced with a massive choice and so tasty.
