Location

This hotel lies on the seafront in the Costa Ballena resort in the town of Rota. It is just 20 m from the beach, 700 m from restaurants and shops and 9 km from the town centre of Chipiona, with its bars, nightspots and links to the public transport network. Nearby, guests will find such towns as Rota, Sanlúcar, Chipiona, Jerez and Puerto de Santa María.

Facility

The resort welcomes guests in a 4-storey building with a lift and 235 non-smoking rooms. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are ready to assist you with check-in and check-out. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The resort has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The complex has wheelchair-accessible facilities. There are a number of shops as well. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. In most units, guests can enjoy a view of the sea from a balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a tea/coffee station included among the standard features. Various dining options are available, including a restaurant (with high chairs), a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast, half board, full board and all-inclusive. At breakfast, lunch and dinner, guests serve themselves at the delicious buffet or order a set menu for lunch and dinner. Special meals, including diet meals, are also available. The resort also offers special catering options. The complex offers a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

    Acceptable but wouldn’t go out way to visit.

    Hotel was clean, food was good for the money and met expectations. However, there is great room for improvement. Employees are not friendly and welcoming accept restaurant staff. Kids club toys were dirty and employees not engaging. We were celebrating a birthday and there was no acknowledgment - not expecting freebies but a simple note would have been appreciated.     Dissapointing family holiday with no entertainment

    We were extremely disappointed with this hotel. The atmosphere is incredibly quiet and feels more like a retirement home than a family resort. We travelled with children aged 8 and 12 after reading that the hotel offered kids’ activities, but there was absolutely nothing for children. No entertainment, no shows, no activities during the day or evening. I have honestly never stayed at a hotel with no entertainment at all.The food was bland and lacked variety. While the hotel surroundings are lovely and it is close to the beach, there is nothing else nearby no restaurants, bars or shops within walking distance.The room was spacious and clean with lovely views from the balcony.Unfortunately, due to lack of entertainment and good atmosphere we would not return as a family.     Cockroach problem

    Went for a family break ...not very impressed....VERY big COCKROACH problem in the rooms...my brother was in a 1st floor room wich was infested with roaches ..we went to report it at reception and they were very reluctant to change his room also the smell of drains was intoxicating ...also in my room on our last day cockroaches started to appear in 4th floor room we also complained and showed them evidence but reception was rude abrupt and not bothered at all.....never again will i stay Pablo Calvente, General Manager at Elba Costa Ballena Beach & Thalasso Resort, responded to this review Dear Michelle,Thank you for sharing your feedback.     Silent is necessary respect in this hotel. Parents no control his kids, but some RECOMENDATIONS to familys can be mandatory in the check moment. please, show and activitis to kids need to be at 7pm not a midnight. yours halls and doors rooms make a lot noise. Bar and stage is in the same space, parentes drinks beer and watch a football game and kids without control. You need have the experien like a client for realice that the noise is a problem, you can hear every door when closse and spanish family screen.plaese ask to being quiet or you need to improve soundproofing in the rooms. Its a beautiful hotel and spa, but noise at night its so bad.
