    Hotel with great views

    rating28 Oct 2021

From the outside the hotel looks tired and in need of updating but the room that we stayed in was very clean, bright and appeared freshly decorated. The room had the biggest balcony I have ever seen in a hotel it was in fact bigger than the room , it offered such wonderful views across the bay to Gibraltar and was a great place to relax and watch the activity in the port . Hotel has a restaurant which serves a wide choice of breakfasts at very reasonable prices . We found it difficult to actually get to the hotel from the main road as it was not well sign posted and we ended up at the restricted entry to the port and had to make an illegal U turn to get onto the right road . But overall a very good stay in this hotel.

    Just ok

    rating19 Aug 2018

On entry the hotel has a stale cigarette smell, luckily the rooms are not the same. The reception staff are friendly but speak very little English if required. We had to pay €8.80 for parking in the underground parking as there was none nearby. The room itself was good, had a great terrace which overlooks the beach and port. We were lucky enough to see a fire work display from the terrace. We were not impressed to be rudely awoken before 9 am by the cleaning staff knocking loudly on the door - we only stayed overnight so I don’t understand why they didn’t leave us alone until we checked out. Beds are very uncomfortable with the thinnest of pillows. The children were in a sofa bed and complained how uncomfortable it was - something they have never commented on before. Breakfast was a standard continental breakfast - a choice of croissant or toast, orange juice, coffee or cola cao. Orange juice was fresh. Anything else is chargeable.I think this hotel could be so much better than what it is, it has potential but comfort or lack of it lets it down.

    Nice views, clean

After a 19+ hour bus ride from France, I was happy to get a good deal on my room here, included breakfast the next morning. Decided to stay two more nights instead of going to Airbnb, and asked for same deal: bed and breakfast - the rate was higher as not booked on Internet, and once I'd paid I was informed that breakfast would be extra. That was annoying. The dining room staff are pleasant and helpful but I only had breakfast on the first morning (because of having to pay extra after that), and I had the set menu lunch one day. Not terribly nice, though the staff were nice again.A bit far from town if you don't have a car - there seems to be no public transport nearby, there is no fridge in the room to keep anything cold if you bring drinks or food back, and the TV doesn't work as promised on the sign in the room. The sign advertises a number of English channels, including BBC News 24 - but they are no where to be found. Despite several visits downstairs to reception, no one came to fix the TV (if it could even be fixed) - so that was disappointing as well.

    Enjoyable stay

    rating06 Oct 2017

Arrived Monday 4th October at 2.20 am very late, to be met by the male receptionist who was really polite and helpful and helped carry our luggage to our room, the only problem was he did'nt speak any English. We found our room spacious, clean and a large balcony, with two chairs and a table but a sun lounger would have been nice. The staff were always smiling and cheerful nothing was too much trouble especially the English speaking young ladies.we used this hotel as a base to go to Gibralta and other places by car and we found it to be a great location. The view is great, lovely sea and beach. The restaurant was a no go for us due to the lateness of the evening meal and we there was no English translation to help us choose anyway. Would we stay again 100% yes. We think " tea making facilities" would be a bonus too.

    Convenient hotel close to Harbour

    rating02 May 2017

This was a last minute booking as the group I was in, headed to Morocco, but ferries were not running due to bad weather.Hotel is very conveniently located next to the harbor.View from the room are nice and rooms and service are average ( I would say ... in line with the room price )
