Location

The hotel is in the heart of Cadiz Bay, located within the marina and leisure complex in Puerto Sherry. It is 3 km from the historic centre of Puerto de Santa Maria and close to the fine white sandy beaches (500 m). Guests will find restaurants, bars and clubs, as well as shopping facilities and the bus and train stations all around 3 km away. The Parque Natural Los Toruños is also some 3 km away.

Facility

59 non-smoking rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air.     Quiet budget friendly hotel in a calming location with a sprinkling of chic

    Stayed 2 nights as a solo traveller seeking a few days R&R from the road. Super quiet in March so a welcome room upgrade made this excellent value. Very helpful friendly staff, very chilled stay, lovely weather so marina location at its best. Superb beach 10mins walk away. Pleasant 45 min walk into Santa Maria town where you can jump on a ferry to Cadiz which takes 25 mins - cool way to visit an amazing town if you prefer a base outside there. A few restaurants in the marina - mostly looked good, but the marina and Santa Maria town very quiet in March as expected. Overall recommended if you don’t mind being a little outside of town.

    My wife and I spent two nights at the Hotel Puerto Sherry during a weekend in October. Parking is available, check-in was easy, and our room was clean.We booked a junior suite...I'm not sure the room really qualified as such. Our patio was larger than others, however it backed up against bathrooms in the hallway which we could hear when used. Breakfast was included in our room rate and was ok, however when we asked for fresh scrambled eggs the staff got them for us right away.The location is ok, there are a few restaurants in walking distance, but both Rota and Cadiz are decent drive.I think this hotel is good for functions or if you are passing through the Marina, but I wouldn't stay here if I was visiting the area again. The service at the hotel stood out, but the hotel is dated and the location is just ok.

    Everything you expect and 5 min walk to the beach

    Great staff, rooms are aging but very clean. Great breakfast, 5 min walk to the nearest beach and the others within 5 min by car. 10 minutes to downtown and all its bars and restaurants.     Worst hote & location ever

    We booked this hotel through a Voyage Prive offer for the beginning of October as a winter break. What a mistake. It was advertised as being in Puerto Santa Maria Cadiz. Our own stupidity we actually thought it was in Cadiz how wrong were we, it actually sits on a bay facing Cadiz which is a 30/45 minute ferry crossing. The hotel is so remote It takes about 1 hour to walk to the ferry port from the hotel. There is no bus service in the immediate area in the time we were there we never saw a single bus. From Santa Maria train station its approx a 20 min drive to the hotel. The hotel is on the marina and faces across the bay to Cadiz the view was the best thing about the hotel. The hotel is totally isolated from everything there are no bars or shops in the immediate vicinity, which means you are tied to the hotel if you wish to eat or have a drink. There was a small supermarket and a cafe open in the morning approx 1/2 mile away and if you walked around the bay approx 1.1/2 miles away a couple of restarants. There are no external amenities to the hotel and very few people about. The hotel has a lack of staff which had a massive impact on service. On the day of our arrival we unpacked and decided to have a bite to eat and a drink. The bar area was closed, so we went to the restaurant which was deserted after waiting 20 minutes for any sign of life I walked into the kitchen to find someone the place was totally deserted. We never saw more than 2 members of staff at any one time. Breakfast was the normal fare however replenishment of items was extremely slow. We had booked and paid for a halfboard package (thank god, as there was no were else to eat). There was no menu for the halfboard so the waitress who spoke virtually no English would try to describe verbally to us what there was to eat. The food was average, seldom hot enough and of takeaway quality. All the amenities in the hotel were closed this included both an outdoor and indoor pools. We were informed by the receptionist that the pools were open and even provided with towels. However when we tried to access these we found the gates locked. We received mixed messages from the reception staff, which ended up in us speaking to.the manager to clarify the situation which despite the daily temperature being 28 to 30 daily the pools remained closed for the duration as did the other amenities that were offered by the hotel. The curtains in our room had several rips in them, there were white stains on the cushions, ants in the bathroom and dressing table, if you closed the bathroom door you could not open it from the inside. On one occasion we were left with a bath towel with red stains on it. There is little privacy as you can hear everything from the rooms either side of you including bathroom activity and more amorous noises leaving nothing to the imagination.     We have visited every year for many years. Why? Because the situation is excellent, bars and restaurants a walk away, (or in our case a very short drive away) and the marina your balcony view. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.
