Location

Sandy beaches several kilometres long and outstanding water quality are the trademarks of the Costa de la Luz. The modern hotel is located here in a quiet location within the town of Islantilla. The weather is ideal for sun worshippers and there are some practically deserted stretches of coast to enjoy. The endless sandy beach is only 200 m away. Alongside beach, sun, and bathing pleasure, the quiet town with small markets and some shops is 500 m from the hotel. This is an ideal location far away from the hustle and bustle to spend some relaxing time on holiday. Faro airport lies some 90 km from the hotel.

Facility

The hotel has 298 suites, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. Staffed 24 hours a day, the reception desk makes check-in and check-out easy. Services such as a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service and drinks machine ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access (for a fee) allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are a number of shops, including a supermarket and souvenir shop. The grounds of the hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony is included as standard in some rooms. A safe and a minibar are also available. Extra comforts include a mini fridge. Other features include a direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge). A hairdryer and a telephone are provided in the bathrooms, which include a shower and a bathtub. Wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms are also available. The freshwater pool complex includes indoor and outdoor pools, which are in part heated, as well as a children's swimming area. Dining facilities include a café and a bar. A number of specialities await guests in the air-conditioned, non-smoking restaurant. Catering options include half board, full board and all-inclusive. A generous breakfast buffet, a lunch à la carte and a comprehensive dinner buffet offer plenty of delicious variety. Special culinary options, such as diet meals, are also available.     Good food, a lot of activities organised by the hotel helpful staff and nice heated inside swimming pool. Also nice location in walking distance from the beach.     My parents spent a few (all-included) days at Ohtels Islantilla in late November 2024 with some friends. They are senior citizens. The experience at Ohtels Islantilla was a disappointing one. The food was sub-standard for a 4-star hotel. The service was no better either (e.g. restaurant tables without tablecloth, sour attitude from some members of the staff). As for the rooms, no more than decent (how many 4-star hotels provide old-looking winter blankets instead of duvets...?). All in all, they got the feeling that they and the many other senior people in the hotel were getting second-rate treatment. Fortunately, Islantilla is a beautiful place (with lots of other nice places to enjoy the food and the weather).     Rooms were fine and comfortable missed not having tea and coffee facilities in the room. But otherwise nice and spacious. We had a room that slept 4 and had one of the biggest balcony's in the hotel overlooking the pool. Food was good we were half board breakfast was ok have everything you would expect. Evening meal was lovely good choice and always fresh. Drinks were served at the table. We had the same waiter most of the week his name was David very helpful with great customer service. As the hotel was very quiet while we were there the entertainment was minimal However Anthony one of the entertainment team made our holiday he was very friendly. Encouraging all holiday makers to join in the fun. He made time to go around talking to everyone. If it was not for him I think we would have spent most of our holiday out of the hotel. We found that not many staff members could speak English so ordering drinks was tricky to start with but as the week went on we got to know the staff and we managed between us. Overall a great holiday in a lovely hotel.
