  A lovely hotel with excellent rooms. Although I did miss a kettle for tea or coffee.The food in restaurant was extremely good both for breakfast & evening meal.The choices of food is definitely 5 star you will not be disappointed.We asked for a large round table so we could eat together & they duly obliged.After our golf rounds we sat at the pool bar for drinks (you have to pay until 5pm) in the warm sunshine a pleasant experience.North course: Our favourite for wide fairways, great mix of holes, stunning marshland views of the area & very quiet.South course: Many challenging holes to negotiate with trees to avoid & many dogleg fairways. We all found it tough going but still enjoyed the game.I used the Spa. A typical sauna, steam room & hydroponic pool.Main outdoor pool was cool so didn’t venture in.The drinks package included decent lager. Gin & whisky was okay especially after the lager!Overall we all enjoyed the resort as golf was the prime reason we went & are looking to return next year.

  Enjoyable golf trip

  I enjoyed my trip to El Rompido, the golf is good, the staff helpful with plentiful buggies. The hotel is clean, rooms spacious, lovely bathroom, excellent shower. Buffet style breakfast and evening meal food is good with lots of choice. The pool is lovely with adequate sunbeds but there is insufficient outdoor seating for guests to enjoy the warm evenings. The bars offer table service which would be fine if there were enough staff to avoid prolonged waiting for anyone to appear. There was no evening entertainment in the bar.The road train into town is an asset.

  Good and bad but easily remedied

  Pros: Arrival at the resort we were impressed, everywhere was very clean, the rooms were lovely and spacious and the bathrooms excellent - great shower and separate bath. Good balcony. The courses were extremely well kept and the staff at the golf club (Fran) and pro shop really helpful. The breakfasts were very good, especially the omelettes. Dani and Alejandro were lovely.Cons: The evening meal was not good at all on any of the days. Not much choice and bland. When the hotel was full we could not get any chairs to sit in either before or after supper, the outdoor furniture was dated and a couple of the chairs were broken. There was no entertainment in the evening, a piano but no piano player which was a shameThe semi-inclusive drinks package wasn't great value as it only started at 5pm so drinks at lunch and after golf had to be paid for defeating the object Overall it's a lovely hotel with good golf courses but we'd hesitate to come back because of the food and drinks package Hotel- cmanager, Owner at Precise Resort El Rompido, responded to this review Dear Whitley,We appreciate your feedback.We are delighted that your first impression of the resort was so positive and that you found your room spacious, clean and well appointed. We also acknowledge your comments about the drinks package and will review how its timing is communicated so future guests can plan accordingly.Nonetheless, we are pleased that the two championship golf courses and the overall setting of the resort left a good impression.   Extremely disappointing start to our holiday

  We stayed at this resort last year and had a pleasant experience, which is why we decided to return this year. Unfortunately, this visit has been a major disappointment from the moment we checked in.We were assigned Apartment 1212 and immediately noticed that it was in a very poor state of maintenance. This has nothing to do with the apartment being old. We understand that buildings age, but there is a clear difference between an older apartment and one that has not been properly maintained.The apartment had damaged furniture, misaligned drawers, detached skirting boards, visible dirt in both the kitchen and bathroom, a heavily stained sofa, and several other signs of neglect. We also found ants inside the living room.To make matters worse, the air conditioning did not work when we arrived, and the sliding glass door to the terrace had a broken lock, creating an obvious security concern.We reported everything immediately and sent a detailed email with photographs. We then spent almost five hours of the first day of our holiday waiting for maintenance and speaking with reception instead of enjoying the resort.The air conditioning was eventually made to work, and we were told the door would be repaired. However, what disappointed us most was the way the situation was handled.When the manager visited the apartment, it seemed that our email and the attached photographs had not even been properly reviewed. As we pointed out the numerous maintenance and cleanliness issues, the response was simply that the apartment was “a bit old”, with no real acknowledgement of the overall condition.The suggestion for the ants was to spray insecticide inside the apartment, despite the fact that we are travelling with our six-year-old daughter. We declined and expected a more appropriate solution.We asked to be moved to another apartment because the accommodation we received did not correspond to the standard we had booked through Booking.com. This request was refused.What makes this even more frustrating is that the staff were polite throughout. However, politeness alone is not enough when the accommodation itself falls well below expectations and the proposed solutions fail to address the underlying problems.We genuinely wanted to enjoy our holiday here, but spending the first afternoon dealing with maintenance issues instead of relaxing is not the experience anyone expects when booking a resort.Based on our experience, the condition of Apartment 1212 does not reflect the standard presented online, and we sincerely hope the resort invests in proper maintenance and quality control so that future guests do not experience the same disappointment.
