    Very pleasant hotel

    rating04 Nov 2025

I have just stayed six days in full board at this hotel. I enjoyed the location as the hotel is only at a 5-minute walk to the beach. Food was excellent and varied. For instance, in the buffet, they would propose different meats (pork, veal, steak, chicken…). You do not always find such a variety of meat in three-star hotels. Good to know, they adapt the start time for breakfast. From Monday to Friday, it starts at 7:30. During the weekend and legal holidays, it starts at 8:00. Lunch begins at 13:30 and dinner at 20:30. I have suggested the hotel to start maybe 30 minutes earlier as some people prefer to eat earlier, especially in the evening. Regarding the rooms, I have to say that mine was just perfect. Clean (a special thank you to the cleaning staff) and view on the sea. Some evenings there were some noises from the bars or the restaurants in the streets but not too loud. Staff in the restaurant or at the reception are friendly and helpful. They have free WiFi. They give you the code upon arrival.

    Rather underwhelming for the price

    rating08 Nov 2023

Room was very standard, some pubic hairs on the bed and other hair in the bathroom. Rather overpriced aswell, £130 for 2 nights and including breakfast. One of the servers at breakfast kept insisting that we had not paid for breakfast which was not very comfortable. I would compare it to travellodge in the UK. Good location.

    Can't praise it enough

    rating01 Oct 2022

We visited in July 2022.You have to be aware this area is predominantly holiday spot/area for the Spanish, so the use of the English language is limited. Many local restaurants do not have Emglish translations for their menus. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome. My wife and I speak basic Spanish and our daughter is fluent. That said the lady on reception when we checked in did speak a little English. The rooms were very comfortable, not overly luxurious, room amenities were a TV, fridge and safe. Rooms had wifi service. The pool was never that busy, in fact it was pretty deserted until the late afternoon. Due to the proximity to the hotel and other nearby hotels, if you want to sizzle in the sun you will have to move your sunbed at some point. It was in the 40 degrees during our stay, as Spain was in the middle of a heatwaveThere was a manned bar a few yards from the pool and several tables and seat should you wish to sit and have a coffee. In fairness this is not really the hotel for anyone who just wants a sit by the pool all day holiday. We did not try the restaurant for lunch or dinner. Breakfast was really good, a mix of hot and cold fair (again very Spanish but totally delicious). The is a small super market a few minutes walk and a ton of great restaurants within easy walking distance. The town does get really busy at night especially the beach area, loads of shops open in the evening and we found some of the more popular restaurants we booked the day or two before visiting to be assured a table. The big question is would we go there again. The answer is we are already booked in for 2023 as for us this hotel was perfect. Yes there are larger and more luxurious hotels in Gandia but they are also a lot more expensive, without really adding that much, unless you really need a spar.

A great base for our busy stay in Gandia

    rating12 Aug 2022

Hotel Cibeles provided the perfect stay for our week in Gandia, where there is much to do & we kept busy in town, enjoyed the local beaches & visited Valencia by train. The hotel has a smart exterior & looks great lit up in the evenings. The pretty reception vestibule leads to a lovely poolside terrace & bar, or a sweeping stairway to the dining room. The rooms are a fair size & have great balconies. We ate good breakfasts there, & had our dinners out as there are plenty of fun restaurants a stroll away. Gandia beach is also walking distance & the pedestrian area comes to life in the evenings with shops & stalls. We had a car, & the hotel has a small underground carpark. The staff were a pleasure, & we would definitely stay there again!

    Well located and Clean !

    rating20 Jan 2019

HOTEL CIBELES,I forgot to write this review but I went to this Hotel in December 2018 and found it to be very pleasant, clearly a bit quiet for the time for year. I found the Hotel very clean and staff very helpful, although, generally in the area and hotel, they did not speak much English, (But why should they)Very few down sides from what I saw, maybe one of the fire doors on the year staircase sticks but does close.Food was OK, buffet style, not much available but I think that was due to not many or hardly any folk being in the hotel at that time. The breakfast, as I recall, was continental affair, no hot food available. Having said that, the food available was ample for my needs but nothing to get excited about. There was a microwave in the restaurant!I did not use the bar area but found the restaurant prices to be very reasonable, I think a bottle of House Red was about 5 euro, so you get the idea.Rooms were all very pleasant, clean, the TV only had a couple of English channels. The Hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the beach, a very large and clean beach with wide promenade. Equally, you are about 10/ 15 minute walk from the dock / marina area, which has bars, shops and sea trip outlets. As you are in Gandia Playa, the Hotel is on a bus route, the L2 I think, to the main town, about 20 minute ride for about one and half euro, this fee seems to be a ‘one ticket price fits all’, you can pay on the bus, this bus also goes past and stops at the shopping mall but takes you to the main centre / bus depot, of Gandia Town. The Town has a good few pleasant bars, restaurants and locations to visit, if you are interested in the famed Burgess family. From this bus depot, you can get a bus, also the L2 but not the same one as above, to the nearby, (20k), OLIVA, if you want to explore that is. Again about 2 euro but these buses are not very frequent. This is a nice town, nothing special but visit the old town and maybe Amigoes Bar, which has been featured on TVOutside the Hotel, there are several bars and restaurants. Turning right out of the hotel and walking about 3 to 4 minutes, is a bar on the corner called El Coladito, which is next to a small roundabout. This is a modern open bar but they had some great themed nights, including a night when most drinks cost a euro, check out their website. The bar is nothing fancy and not for everyone but some great little deals and not too far away to stagger back to the Hotel.I think this Hotel is well located for the sea front, other bars and also travelling to other areas. There seemed to be plenty of parking outside and near to the hotel but this was December and now that every where seems to be slowly taken over by the ORA parking enforcement company, you need to check. I liked this hotel and it seemed to suit my needs.I did not use any of the hotel facilities, bar, pools as I used it as a base to explore and anyway, as it was December, nothing was open or going on anyway.
