Well located and undeniable value for money

  30 Sept 2026

We stayed for 2 weeks on full board from September 15 to 29, room 306. The hotel is very well located 300m from the large north beach of Gandia, along which a large promenade with restaurants, bars, and shops will take you to the lively port area 2km away (20/25min on foot). In September, at least, it was very easy to park in the streets surrounding the establishment. The hotel is very clean, the room was sufficiently large, with a balcony, table and chairs, small refrigerator and safe (for a fee). The bedding was comfortable. As for food, the buffet-style dining was decent, even if repetitive, it was good. Note, because it is rare in Spain, that filtered water was available for free, and also 2 or 3 types of cheese were presented at every meal. For dog owners, the hotel welcomes pets for free, and offers a time slot to clean your room: exceptional!!Musical entertainment is also offered almost every evening. The historic center of Gandia, located 4km away, is worth the detour, especially for the Ducal Palace and the Passeig de les Germanes.Undeniably a very good value for money for this establishment: many advantages... but you also have to accept the disadvantages.Rooms are not soundproofedAt meal and checkout times, a 9-story building with about 150 rooms inevitably generates lines in front of the 2 small elevators, as well as for getting a table at the undersized restaurant where a very loud hubbub reigns. Not very discreet tourist groupsA pool (2 basins) with little space around it. Modern, clean, compact and good meals

  02 May 2018

Very modern, nice simple bedroom, goid size bathroom that was bright.Nice clean pool and terrace area. A bit too cold to use it though. The bathroom was a decent size, had a lovely hot bath. Was provided with lots of towels too.We had 2 twin beds and a pull down single bed which was great for my 9 year old. Good black out curtains too.Great breakfast but don’t expect an English fry-up selection! It’s a very Spanish hotel. It would have been great if there had been a kettle and cups in the room.

Beach hotel, the bes of the worst?

  03 Aug 2016

The truth is: it is very hard to find a good hotel without spending too much in Gandia. My son, my husband and I paid around 1200 Euros for 10 nights with full meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Although we had a lot of fun and my son was so happy since in july and august they have entretainment for children, I find the hotel itself horrible and I don't know if I will repeat. Note: if you have dogs, they are allowed in the hotel. They can not go to the eating area, neither in the swimming pool area, and dogs are not allow in the beach, but you can keep them in the room with food and water and take them for long walks in the pedestrian long walk of the shore. For the good part: the people working there are very nice. The entretainment for kids are good, and has two swimming pools, one of them for small children. Another, plus it is the food. It is not the best, but it is not the worst so there is always something you may like. Around the swimming pool you find chairs and tables and deck chairs. And the most important thing, it is a walking distance from the beach. For the bad part:the hotel is not taking care of. Except the reception area that looks very nice, the rooms are not the cleanest, and you can notice they have not painted in a long time. It looks very detriorated and you may find stains and parts broke down in the ceiling of the bathroom. The sheets and towels have stains, even though they smell like clean. I don't understand since they are plain white why they don't bleach them to take off the stains. That for me was very disgusting. When we enter the room, the next day we ask he cleaning lady to clean in depth the room because we felt was not clean, and actually she was very nice and did it. We complained in reception about the sheets and towels altough I don't feel they did anything at all. The extra bed broke since some of the wood laminates fell off. At lunch, although they use dishwasher, it was hard to find a clean dish, or fork or glass, all seemed to have stains, although that may be because the water in beach areas come with a lot of chlorine. I am not sure. The fact is I return to my home sick, I am not sure if it was the food or the lack of hygiene. The water of the swimming pool could be cleaner. I think they should put more chlorine taking into account all the people who use the swimming pool. The size is small for an hotel with so many people, when I went in July it was full. The size of the bar outside seems also small to me. I have mix feelings with this hotel. I think they could take much better care and maintenance. Although I had a good time and it is in a walking distance to the beach, I feel the hygiene should be better taking into account also that they allow dogs in the rooms.I had fun, but I was dissapointed. For me, the hygiene is very important and I feel the lack some. I went four years ago to this hotel and I had the same mix feelings, so the next two years I went to the hotel Biarritz which at the time was a new hotel and the rooms were clean and nice. The problem with the Biarritz is that the food was not good the two years we went and the swimming pool was very tiny. Next time, I will go to Gandia I do not know where I will go. Tough decision.

  Dogs allowed

  30 May 2015

Chose this hotel as it was one of the few that allows dogs, although they are not welcome in the communal areas (it's a case of straight to the lift and up to your room). Overall, the hotel is clean, the staff are friendly, and the rooms are a decent size and have a balcony. Although it does not have a carpark, there were plenty of spaces to park in the road (this was in May). The buffet breakfast was good but dinner was pretty poor. The swimming pool is fairly small for the capacity of the hotel. There were quite a few groups on hen/stag weekends but we weren't disturbed at any point. Overall, it is pretty good for a three-star hotel.

The Big Thing Soul Weekender in Gandia

  06 Oct 2012

We booked in this hotel as it is very close to the all night and all day events 28th - 29th Sep, the Big Thing Valencia Soul weekender. An event that takes place every year, which we enjoy attending. we got a double room with breakfast at 48 Euros per night. The Buffet Breakfast was great! Fresh fruit, natural yoghurt and wholemeal bread as well as cold meats and cereals. it also caters for those with sweet tooth who like to eat pastries and cakes in the morning! The breakfast is totally self service! but maybe because it is the last weekend in the season, they closed the hotel on the day we checked out. You pick your cutlery on the way in and you choose your table. Very nice airy breakfast area. The coffee from the machine is not fantastic and I could not drink tea (teabag in a small cup!) I understand minimising staff involvement, but serving boiled eggs is not difficult? we missed having eggs in our breakfast (no hot food). A big supermarket at the back, though the water from the tap tasted very good. We were out looking for a place to eat on the first night, after eating we found out that there are buffet meals at 10 Euros a head at the hotel! we were never told about them. They are good value with a range of vegetarian and meat selections. Very helpful staff who can speak English if you are stuck. This is a Spanish tourist resort so do not expect it everywhere. The beach in Gandia is amazing.
