  Horrible communication frustration on a fantastic golf course

  I chose Parador El Saler specifically, because I was clearly assured that my spa booking included access to the outdoor pool. I even made a point of confirming this twice, one day inadvance upon a booking AT THE RECEPTION and then the same day again . However, after paying for the spa, I was suddenly denied access to the pool on the grounds that I was not a hotel guest. This is simply not acceptable. If access is limited to hotel guests, that must be clearly and consistently communicated before taking a reservation and payment.What disappointed me most was not just the refusal, but the complete lack of coherent communication. A Parador property should have clear internal procedures and ensure that all staff provide accurate information. I left feeling misled and very disappointed. I asked for my money back which was given but needless to say that my day of holiday was completly ruined. This experience fell well below the standard I expected. I sincerely hope management takes this seriously and improves its communication and booking procedures to prevent future guests from experiencing the same frustration. You were informed that you would have to pay for access to the spa facilities. You agreed and booked a treatment. Access to the outdoor pool was not mentioned.When you returned the next day and asked again, you were told the same thing before entering the spa. At that point, you made a comment to our receptionist, who had assisted you the previous day, about the color of her skin, which was highly unfortunate and unacceptable.We then explained that you could not have the ten-minute access to the outdoor pool that you had requested, as it was reserved exclusively for hotel guests, and we apologized if we had not made this clear.You insisted, and after that, you said you were leaving, so we proceeded to refund your money. You insisted that you were going to post many negative reviews and that we would lose more by doing so than by letting you in for ten minutes.I am very sorry that your experience was not a positive one, but we could not grant you those ten minutes, as we tried to explain to you.Sincerely,

  Very unpleasant stay …

  Very unpleasant stay . Our room was clean but needed to be painted. Food and service in the dining room was very bad .We waited over an hour for service to order out meal. Only 2 staff on to do the dining room. Breakfast was also bad … lots of tables not cleared off . Again short staffed. Would not recommend this hotel. Nothing good to say about it only some of the staff were very nice but all under pressure. Won’t be back!   This was our 11th time staying in this wonderful Parador. We have always loved the hotel, the staff and superb location which is in a protected area.There is a path to, what must be, the quietest beach in Spain - unspoiled and natural, plus plenty of lovely walks through forests and lakes.Even though this hotel is in a quiet area there is still plenty to do. There is an excellent Spa, an outdoor swimming pool and a championship golf course. Plus a restaurant and a cafeteria. If that is not enough there is a little town just down the road for great value Spanish hospitality.Our final comment must be to praise the staff, who make this Parador so welcoming, with a special mention to the Parador Director who is the most visible hotel manager - always on hand to make sure that the hotel is perfect!!   Disappointing experience

  We had booked the special romantic February offer which in the email about it said we would get a special dinner menu , we actually got the ordinary menu with a valentines sweet despite saying we were on the offer , we later stayed with the same offer at the parador in Javea and there we received a lovely special 4 course menu with paired wines as part of the romantic February offer .we were told ( incorrectly as it turns out ) that the offer details were set centrally after I e mailed to complain . We would like to let you know that Parador de Javea has a different menu and they also offered you paired wines because of your length of stay.
