  great for a short break

  The hotel is great, very welcoming on arrival. We booked a suite and it had a huge wrap round balcony. Room was exactly what we needed. Television was a bit short on channels for English speakers. Breakfast was fine ,nothing fancy but perfect to start the day. No pool , no bar but lidl is only 10 min walk up the road if you need anything for the room. 15 walk got you to beach. All in all a great spot for a break away.

  Aparthotel that is very basic. Staff have to unlock kitchen for you to access kettle. Twin room plus very uncomfortable sofa bed. When using sofa bed there is no privacy.Breakfast disappointing - scrambled egg cold and overcooked even at beginning of breakfast service. Only plus side were the very helpful staff on reception

  We rented the Apartotel Playa Oliva for almost a week because of the reviews we read, especially in Booking. They mentioned brand new apartments and perfectly isolated. Well, that is not exactly the truth. The hotel is being refurbished (every day they have posted a notice about it because of the noise). The result is quite nice, but anyway, I do not know if some things have not yet been touched or will be in the future (e.g. stained carpet). The rooms are quite big, as you would expect from an small apartment, and the terrace is huge. The beds are comfortable. The sofa is absolutely uncomfortable. The shower was large enough and easy access though the shower head needs substitution. The room looked generally cleaned, though some linens and pillows smelt of humidity. We requested a change and everything was OK since then.Noise isolation was one of the key aspects why I chose this hotel. It was half and half. From the outside (our room headed to the road) the noise was absolutely annoying. From the rooms, we heard almost nothing (except from above for some time), but there were very few guests at the time, so I'm not sure.Air conditioning is extremely noisy and not strong enough. It works better in the bedroom than in the living room, but the motor noise is unbearable to sleep. Same happens with the ventilation fan at the bathroom, though this you can switch off.Now, I will talk about the "Escape Room" thing in the title. Well, the unit comes with a kitchen, quite nice if you would like to save some money cooking home at least for dinner. Some items are available for free to you. However, you would need a fee to get a key. With that key you open some cupboards to get other items (pans, dishes). If you want forks, you would need to remove a screw from a side of the drawer. Then if you want to use the cook, you need to check the plug and a button. If you want to you the fridge, do not forget to turn on the power wheel inside. In essence, you had to solve several riddles as in Escape Rooms to survive! It may sound funny now, but it wasn't.Service at the front desk was always very polite and informative. They were prompt with solving our questions and during check-in and check-out. Thank you to all for your work. Do note that servicing of the rooms is not done during your stay, except for towels if asked for.Breakfast is something I read it was short. For me it was OK. Of course you wouldn't expect a 5 start buffet breakfast, but here you have everything you may require for a more than basic breakfast: croissants, napolitana, cereals, fruit, yogurts, cold cuts, jamon, cookies, scramble eggs, sausages or bacon (depending on the day), coffee, tea, bread, tomato... Do you really complain about this? Nope.Parking is easy at this time of the year right in front of the hotel. However, do note that there are some road works nearby.In summary, good units, a little bit decayed (or not yet properly refurbished), noisy AC units, noisy from outside, worst ever sofa, good beds, friendly staff, reasonable breakfast.   Very clean, modern, well maintained place. Somewhere between hostel and hotel, our room had air conditioning, nice bathroom, a private balcony area, and a hot plate in a small kitchen area with utensils as standard. Beds were together but could be moved apart easily if travelling with friends. Loads of room for two adults. We were a very short walk from the beach (5 mins), and some beachside cafes and restaurants. A taxi into the town centre cost 5 euro for a greater variety of shops. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only minor problems were the hotel WiFi not working and breakfast provided was not inspiring, but was there nonetheless. Would go again!
