Excellent base for a spanish holiday.

    rating12 Oct 2017

We stayed at the apartments the first week in October, arriving before noon, 3 hours before the stated check-in time. The staff could not have been more helpful, they had our apartment ready for us within the hour. The apartment was brilliant, it had everything one needs for a self catering holiday, the rooms were spotlessly clean, bright and cheerful. The other guests staying at the apartments were mainly couples- we didn`t see many kids- they were made up of Spanish, Dutch and Germans. Either way not a lot of English spoken, which lets face it, is a change. As mentioned in earlier reviews the staff have little or no English, but don`t be put off by this, they are wonderfully patient. The location of the apartments is in a residential part of Malaga, so not a lot of tourists about. The bus service back into the city is spot on, running from early morning to late at night, and so cheap, 1.30 Euro, it virtually stops a few yards from the front door.We would heartily recommend the Dona Carmen, and would like to thank all the staff for their help an kindness. When returning to beautiful Malaga we would stay nowhere else.

    A Real 'Spanish' Holiday

    rating10 Jun 2017

Situated in a residential area, so everything so Spanish. Our room was very clean and comfortable, Wi-Fi, Air Con, Jacuzzi Bath, Shower and all essentials, and a rooftop pool. A couple of minor problems which were hastily sorted out by the very nice staff. Fifteen minutes from a beautiful sandy beach at El Palo, with loads of wonderful beach side restaurants, No boring British Pubs or 'Caffs', What more could you ask for. Very little English spoken, so pack your phrase book. Would certainly return.

    A Fantastic Surprise

    rating20 May 2017

My boyfriend and I went on our first holiday away together here, we arrived at around 00:30 (late check in) and when we called the receptionist came straight away and helped us find our room, gave us the key and everything even though she didn't speak any English and we spoke no Spanish, she was really lovely. We'd never stayed in a holiday apartment before so we were really surprised! It was great! The kitchen was fully fitted with all the utensils, there was a TV, a large terrace, a comfy sofa, and a really comfy bed. The bathroom was nice too (they provide towels but no toiletries so you need to bring those yourself). The pool was pleasant, no Sun at the end of the day though so if you want to use it without getting cold better use it at midday. The nearest supermarket was an easy and pretty walk away, the view out the terrace was stunning, and the beach was about 15 minutes away on foot! The whole atmosphere was great for us because we prefer the local setting, as opposed to the mini Britains you get in a lot of tourist spots in Spain.Overall, I'd say a great location with lovely service - but have at least few Spanish phrases under your belt before you go here!

    Not worth money

    rating13 Oct 2016

I was charged €48 for parking-(without my agreement) this price was not mentioned anywhere during booking..there is plenty free parking around. Great view from balcony on the hills but there is school across the road and in the morning it can be very noisy because kids are playing outside, in the evening is better as it not so noisy.Bathroom need some hooks for towels. No hand soap-would be nice to have at least soap to wash hands. Washing liquid could be provided also...there was small washing kit.Walls are very thin-we could hear neighbors talking next door. Wi-fi did not work at all, few people came to reception with the same issue- but it was not fixed, they gave us wi-fi that belong to reception-which means you have to go downstairs every time-even there connection was very poor.Room was not cleaned during our 6 days stay.

    Dont stay here!

    rating22 Aug 2016

We stayed here last week and it was awful from start to finish. The tiny reception was manned by a lady with very little English and no manner. She gave me the keys but no instructions as to where to go etc. We stayed in apartment 3f. The corridors in the building are dark and dreary, where you have to keep pressing the lights to keep them on. Outside our apartment was a mat, which was dirty and a good indication of what lay ahead. Our apartment was more like a hostel room, than a 145€ a night room. The décor was old-fashioned and the cheapest Ikea furniture available (nothing wrong with Ikea btw).On the bed, we were only left a sheet to cover us, which wasn't enough. I slept really badly. The noise from the other apartments kept us awake and woke us again early in the morning. There were long dark hairs in our bath when we arrived. The pool itself was nice but the deck and the area surrounding it needs some money spent on it.We had just come from a beautiful house in Almunecar, which had its own private pool, amazing views etc and we had paid 170€ per night. I could not compare them!Avoid at all costs!! Saludos cordiales.
