  RCI is indicating 4 out of 5. The place is awful. Ripped curtains, peeling paint, mold in bathroom, worn out mattresses, key sticks in lock, no heat or A/C. The hotel staff advised us that the room is considered low rating and the company doesn't have the money to keep it up.

  The unit is lovely with a well equipped kitchen and spacious balcony with a sea view. Check in staff is very attentive. We reported an issue with the kitchen sink and the water heater. Each time, the repairman arrived promptly the next morning to fix it. Three disappointments: 1) No beach towels provided, even though the resort is essentially on the beach. 2) Only one trash bag and two rolls or toilet paper were provided for five occupants for seven nights. 3) The hot water tank is very small and only allowed for one hot shower per hour. You MUST have a car for this resort, and parking is on the street. Understand these oddities and you'll have a wonderful stay.

  We arrived on a Sunday evening via airport shuttle and the driver had issues finding the reception. On arrival, reception was closed and an envelope with our keys and a map were left outside for us to collect. The villa was a 15 minute walk up a steep hill which was quite an issue for us as one of our party does not have great mobility. On arrival, our villa, Alhambra 15, was very welcoming and played out over 4 levels with a very pretty and private patio/grass area to the rear leading to very well maintained shared garden and pool. The accommodation is protected like a prison with so many access keys and metal gates but was very nice, clean and homely. One bad point was we could not access any clothing rails in the main bedroom due to the owners personal possessions being locked away. This meant living from a suitcase for a week. We also had no idea how to access the WiFi as there was no welcome pack or anything to explain. The resort is a 30-40 minute walk downhill to the beach and without a vehicle is not the best location for those with mobility issues. This is my error for not doing enough research as it is perfect for those wanting to be elevated and away from the main town. The 1 euro (cash only) bus ride to town is not to bad and also stops at the supermarket as walking the hills with heavy shopping bags is quite exhausting. Supermarket is also closed on a Sunday so be sure to buy water at the airport before you arrive as there is no provisions left as a welcome gift in each villa ahead of your arrival and nowhere on resort to buy anything. We ate at the restaurant but had to wait until 9am on Monday to buy provisions for breakfast at the main supermarket so no morning coffee or tea to wake up to. In all the communal areas of the complex are very well maintained with beautiful walkways, fountains and plants lining the cobbled pedestrian only streets. Views are spectacular and, if it hadn’t been for the constant building works in the complex below, it would also have been very serene. But that’s progression for you.

  Mouse infested infants bed

  Stay clear if you have a young family Over all cleanliness was poor We where given a bed for my 18 month old daughter the was infested with mice it took 24hrs to replace and the old mice infested bed was not removed for over 4 days when staff where told of the issue they did not seem bothered they even offered me cleaning supplies to clear the bed this is such a worrying lack of care and could have caused harm to my daughter had we not noticed it

  Quiet peaceful resort

  We had a 2 BR RCI exchange and we did find it challenging to find the check-in office, on the ground level in the small shopping area halfway up the hill within the resort complex, but all went smoothly thereafter.It was a spacious suite at the base of the property with a lovely secured garden space - this was the bonus. Be warned the walk with luggage down from the parking above is a major workout. Suggestion should you get this unit : park by the main lower road and unload. Those with physical limitations will find this resort challenging. The unit was dated and could use a significant update but it has its old charm. Beds were old and again could be modernized as well. Free WiFi was excellent. Kitchen was well equipped with a full sized fridge. No dishwasher but a washer for your laundry which was appreciated. Resort is a good 15/20 minute walk downhill to the edge of the main part of town with 2 supermarkets a 5 minute walk away - very convenient. We did not use the pool or any other facilities as it was still cool.Recommended for a quiet and peaceful getaway; no regrets.
