Tranquil stay in a wonderful villa

    rating12 Apr 2026

Family of 5 on a short break over easter. We stayed in a 6 bedroom villa beside green 10 which was incredibly tranquil and beautiful. The service overall was terrific and we had a fantastic time VillaBeautiful modern design and extremely spaciousViews over the course - some wind but beside the pool very shelteredVery tranquil - though with a lot of building works going on on the other side of the valley (not during our stay) suspect could have some noise in the futurePool not heated which made it a little chillyGolf carts are provided which are helpful to get up to hotel and restaurantsServiceExtremely helpful before and during the stay. Before stay to organize transfers, arrange bookings and sort out preferences. During stay the service was always very friendly, courteous and helpfulRestaurants: Generally excellent and catered very well for gluten free and all had good serviceBreakfast: This is an at table presentation where various set dishes are brought and then you can choose from complimentary hot dishes or a selection of alternative dishes for an additional feeDon Giovanni: Our favourite. Lovely atmosphere sitting in the courtyard or inside. Lovely pastas, good pizza and fish dishes. Rei: This was OK but i have had many far better japanese meals elsewhereEl Jardin de Lutz: We sat inside as there was a cold breeze in evening. Quite a dark and old style decor. Food was really excellent - both the fish and the meatsBeach club: We ate a brief lunch here one day. Good fish dishes. Just a pity that it closes at 7 and not open in evenings...or that the seafood and rice/paella selections here couldnt have been in a restaurant up at the hotel. Easy shuttle serviceGolf CourseThis was absolutely beautiful to play. Winter rains made it very green and the course was well maintained. It was never too busy so we couple play a 1 or 2 ball and the hotel discount made the fees more reasonable. Very friendly and helpful service from clubhouse, caddymaster and the on course F&B teamGymReasonable selection of cardio (bikes, erg, running machines) and some weight machines. Not busy at allBeach ClubAs above ate lunch here. A point of note - There is a pool and sun loungers around this set on some imported sand. This sits up cordoned off from the true "beach" shore below which is i guess public, is not really a proper beach as is rocky and so not an obvious place to swimDefinitely recommended!

    Birthday treat

    rating10 Mar 2026

Just returned from an overnight stay here for my wife’s birthday. Absolutely fabulous! Every single member of staff we met was courteous, friendly and helpful. The place is immaculately clean and the quality of food is excellent. It is a very relaxing place to stay, you are put at ease from the moment you arrive.Staff are simply genuinely nice people ,well trained and unpretentious. The level of service is outstanding and unobtrusive, no fawning , just people wanting to ensure that your stay is as good as it can be.Amazing place and we will definitely return having loved our stay

Buyers beware - the potential benefits and contacts between management , owners and hotel guests have been lost.

    rating23 Feb 2026

We have now lived in Las Albercas within Finca Cortesin since June 2023 and want to update potential clients about the Hotel , real estate project(s) , golf course , restaurants etc. before they spend their hard earned money there. This resort had the potential to be one of the finest in Western Europe but Single Home has had over the past years to find several outside investors with the result that most decisions and investments involve too many other companies which means decisions are not quick and too many individuals and companies need to be involved. Little flexibility and limited action. All of the proposed real estate projects ( St. Regis , La Loma etc. ) are very likely to be delayed whilst finance is set up and our experience in Las Albercas showed delays , poor quality of workmanship and poor organisation and execution. Substantial cracks appeared in two of the buildings caused by construction defects due to drainage and the need to reinforce the pilings.!!The company is not well managed at the top and communications with the Owners are poor almost non existant and management does not seem to really care very much. The hotel must have been nice 15+ years ago but some investment is now needed in the rooms / suites to bring them up to true 5 star standard. The hotel personnel is generally committed , works hard but there is very little initiative and everything just continues as before with no innovation or new ideas being introduced.Food is generally good but Don Giovanni is really poor and the menu in El Jardin never changes and for guests who want to dine there every week one soon runs out of options.REI is good but one only wants to eat there maybe once a month or so.The golf course is very good but there have been issues with the greens in 2025 and all the recent rain in early 2026 created some significant problems. The main criticism is that there are no fun competitions organised once in a while such as scrambles and such like , so it is all rather boring although the staff are always present and most helpful. It is really a somewhat sterile environment suitable for single figure golf handicap players but that’s about all.All of the above is somewhat disappointing and contact between golf members is very limited.!!To summarise not particularly good value for money - it is expensive and not great value for money currently in our opinion.Hopefully there may be some reaction from senior management and more dialogue with the real estate owners within Finca very soon.

Avoid 90% of the suites if you dont like pipes banging all night long

    rating05 Jan 2026

⸻Having visited this property on many, many occasions and once believing it was my special place, I have now reached the sad conclusion that there are major, fundamental problems here. When you are spending this level of money, you naturally expect near-perfection — but this was far from it.To begin with, the staff repeatedly told guests they were overworked and understaffed, while guests themselves complained of waiting up to four hours at the adult pool before anyone offered them even water. And astonishingly, you must pay for water by the pool.I was also the guest who was viciously bitten by the hotel cat. I was taken to hospital for a tetanus shot and spent the rest of my stay on antibiotics. I was in pain, nauseous, and shaken — and yet the staff completely ignored the incident. It felt like a strange, cult-like environment where nobody was allowed to acknowledge what had happened. It ruined my holiday. What made it worse was that the cat continued wandering freely around its favourite spots — the restaurants. I was terrified every time it appeared, and at no stage did the hotel attempt to remove the aggressive cat from the property. According to the visiting doctor, the hotel was choosing between addressing a rodent problem and dealing with an aggressive cat. Quite unbelievable for a so-called luxury hotel. On top of that, the hotel has a serious issue with its air-conditioning. If you are sensitive to loud, banging pipes throughout the night, you should insist on checking your room beforehand. This has now happened to me twice, and both times I received the same robotic, cult-like explanation from staff: “it’s too hot outside for the aircon to cope.” I’m sorry, but if you are charging £1,750 per night, you fix the problem — you don’t make excuses.During my August stay, housekeeping even replaced my sheets with dirty ones covered in blood. Four housekeeping managers appeared instantly to change them, yet once again not a single apology from hotel management. It is as if the entire team is trained not to respond, not to acknowledge, not to take responsibility.Yes — the hotel is beautiful, peaceful, and if you are lucky enough to get a room without banging pipes, it can be restful. But after my last experience, I will never return, and I would never recommend it. There are countless other luxury hotels around the world where management are responsive, professional, and respectful — qualities painfully lacking here.I never normally write reviews, but after leaving in October limping and spending my evening in hospital, the very least I expected was a gesture — a drink, a dinner for my children — anything to acknowledge the ordeal. Instead: absolutely nothing. And they couldn’t even provide an incident report for insurance. This is a hotel that clearly chooses who it respects. Management is unresponsive, dismissive, and shockingly absent. And when half the staff spend their time telling guests how unhappy they are, that should be a warning sign to everyone.Such a shame as if this hotel feels that it is not going to be affected by guests feeling like we did and many others, then they are deluded. There are not so many people willing to part with their hard earned money at the moment. The saddest part is that they could have offered my boys dinner when i was at the hospital or at the very least offered me a glass of wine after the incident, when i was clearly shaken. Simple things make all the difference. We have since contacted the hotel for their insurance details and a detailed report and they replied in Spanish saying that this would be UK law and not Spanish! What an awful awful way to deal with things!
