    rating28 May 2026

We were dropped off on the main street , the hotel was a short walk up a little hill , Booking in no problem and as we just missed the all inclusive the gentleman on reception took us to the bar for a drink🥂We got room 302 overlooking the street with side seaview, lovely clean room with a great shower and hairdryer, only downside of the room was no kettle or fridge ☹️.The room was cleaned every day +clean towels by a very friendly lady The food was very good for a 3*plenty of choice fresh prawns ,muscles and good choice of fish lamb shank and different meats and stews the staff were all friendly and efficient beer served in small plastic glasses but ok it did notget a chance to get warn , 2drinks per person rule all the bar staff were great The pool does not open till 10 no rush for sunbeds plenty of them But what made the holiday special was the animation team ,best we have seen in a long time ,they all worked so hardThe hotel is 20min stroll to the Marina along the promenade would definitely return to this hotel

Won't be returning it's really gone downhill

    rating23 May 2026

Where to start, Very very basic & below average. No tea, coffee, kettle In rooms, no fridge but you can hire one depending on availability, old style safe that you can rent it £2.50 a day, sporadic WiFi in reception, you can't get it in rest of hotel, they need to pay for this to be upgraded as it's 2026, beds are rock hard we spent 2 nights in a different hotel due to lack of sleep from bad backs and hips, food is great if you like bone in it or poor cuts of meat like pork cheek, worst thing about this hotel is the food and queues for drinks are ridiculous, need more staff and serving stations, cups are too small (you'll see), most staff are grumpy, not friendly except Daniel who was happy. No proper toiletries In bathroom, not even a plastic shower cap and note NO HAIRDRYER. You can give 10 euro deposit and hire little one if they have availability. Pool is shut until 10am then people rush to loungers, most are taken daily. We went to the beach and paid 16 euros for two loungers as it's so close and more atmospheric. Last time we stayed it wasn't like this. Spoke to some locals and they said it's never been refurbished and it's been taken over since we last stayed. You can tell that by the smell of mould in our room, the food is awful, talk about cutting corners & trying to save money. Bathroom had no ventilation. Sleeping all I could smell behind bed was mould. Didn't use air conditioning as it's filthy and ancient. Beds have brown itchy blankets on. Nationalities vary, mainy Dutch, french & German. There should be hand sanitisers in restaurant, but there isn't, you don't need to cough into your hand and touch utensils, we saw numerous  guests do this. I feel they should encourage cleanliness. I wouldn't return as the food was awful. Almost every meat is really cheap cuts like pork knuckle, turkey even with bone, never stayed anywhere before with such bad selection of meat. My partner eats anything, he struggled & that's saying something. I used the lift up from breakfast as I have a bad knee and it didn't move then when it did it stopped, yes we were stuck in the lift. We heard hola.. and I said we are stuck in the lift. When he opened doors I needed a hand to get out as it was up to my thigh from a level. We were in the actual shaft. Best meal is breakfast, we spent a small fortune eating out. I can't live on bread! Location up a slight hill, shop opposite is expensive so try others if on a budget. Cigarette machine in bar opposite. Taxi to Marina is 5-6 euros, bus 110 3.85 euros for two. Fill water bottles up at bar and take to beach or out with you. This hotel is in serious need of attention in all areas. Need a swap box for guests so they can recycle unwanted items. If you like walking go to bottom of road and head left for much cheaper shops, you cab walk.into torremolinos. You can go beach way also, it's just you miss lots of shops. For better clothing the marina has some nice shops. The hotel seems under staffed and lacking moral. Entertainment in evenings is cheap again but that's least of worries. Recommend taking a mosquito zapper. Sadly won't be returning as I'm not sleeping on hard board and picking at bones. This could be a really nice hotel, but as returning guests it has changed for the worst. Ana Groizard, Marketing at Hotel Palia la Roca, responded to this review Good morning,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience following your stay with us.We are genuinely sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify certain points. Our hotel offers facilities and services fully in line with the category and descriptions published on the various booking platforms and tour operator information. Some amenities such as mini-fridges, safes or hairdryers are available upon request or rental, which is common practice in many holiday hotels.Regarding the restaurant, we regret that the food selection was not to your personal taste. Nevertheless, our buffet offers a wide variety of international dishes, meats, fish, salads and different options daily, designed to satisfy the preferences and nationalities of our guests. In fact, many guests highly appreciate both our breakfast and the variety available.Concerning maintenance and cleanliness, all rooms and common areas are checked and cleaned daily by our teams. In the event of any issue related to air conditioning, humidity or comfort, our reception staff remain available to intervene quickly and provide a solution whenever incidents are reported during the stay. With regard to the isolated lift incident, we would like to reassure you that all our equipment complies with the mandatory technical inspections and maintenance controls established by current regulations. We regret the inconvenience caused, although we are pleased that our staff assisted you immediately. We understand that every guest may have different personal preferences, although we believe some of the comments made do not fully reflect the daily effort and dedication of all hotel departments to provide an enjoyable holiday experience for the vast majority of our guests. We also appreciate your feedback, as it helps us continue improving our services.Kind regards

    Queue at bar

    rating20 May 2026

Returning customer and love this hotel staff are so friendly but feel this holiday is not quite as good as previous years. The queue at the bar is too long and one bar person serving waiting 15 to 20 minutes to be served. I heard there is new management but these cut backs will affect returning customers.Apart from this I still love the staff and location of the hotel. Ana Groizard, Marketing at Hotel Palia la Roca, responded to this review Good morning,Thank you very much for continuing to trust our hotel and for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to know that you continue to enjoy the friendliness of our staff and the hotel’s location, as returning guests like you are very important to us.Regarding the waiting times at the bar, during busier periods there may occasionally be a little more delay than usual, although our team always works hard to provide the best possible service to all guests. Your comments help us continue improving our guests’ experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back again very soon.Kind regards

    Lovely break

    rating09 May 2026

Hotel is up a slight hill although not an issue for taxis/cars but coaches would have to drop on road. Clean hotel, warm welcome on arrival. Friendly bar staff and animation team. Full of energy and polite. 2 drinks per person, plenty of choice and never had to wait long. Hot drinks machine and cold water available too at the bar which was very much appreciated. Downside about the hotel is if you're put on the ground floor rooms especially if by lifts/next to bar and staircase down to restaurant as not all guests are respectful of this. First night's sleep was horrendous because of this and had to request to move rooms. I was told the room I was given at check in was an upgrade due to refurbished bathroom and that I'd not like the alternative single room as it was at the back of the hotel and needs work... I said I'll take my chances and asked to see it. Yes it was VERY dated and not appealing at all especially as it had bars on the widow and netting.... but it was clean, shower worked great and quiet which is what I needed. I can't go away and not sleep. The hotel really do need to work on those rooms though and upgrade. Luckily I was moved but I'm glad I was only staying for a short stay and was mainly to shower and sleep. I didn't put my clothes in the wardrobe as it had a musty old smell but I left hanging on the chair. The food was always hot and always had a choice. Fresh "show cooking" daily for fish meat etc and always salads, desserts and fruit. They did have themed nights too when we were there which included Mexican, Thai and Arabian. Always something to eat. Entertainment team were lovely, very happy and energetic. Bar staff friendly and welcoming, especially Laura and Jorge. Ana Groizard, Marketing at Hotel Palia la Roca, responded to this review Good morning,Thank you so much for sharing such a detailed and personal review about your stay with us. We are truly delighted to know that you enjoyed the warm welcome, the atmosphere of the hotel, the friendliness of our bar staff and entertainment team, as well as the variety of food and drinks available throughout your holiday.Your kind words about Laura, Jorge, and the entertainment team will certainly make them very happy. We are also pleased to hear that you enjoyed the themed dinners, show cooking, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel. We are sorry that the first room did not fully meet your expectations due to the noise. As our hotel is lively and some rooms are located closer to common areas, noise sensitivity can vary depending on each guest. Nevertheless, we are happy that our reception team was able to assist you and find a quieter room better suited to your needs.Regarding some of the older rooms, we continue to carry out progressive renovations in order to further improve the comfort and experience of our guests.Thank you once again for your valuable feedback, and we hope to welcome you back very soon for another lovely stay with us.Best regards
