    Lovely hotel and highly recommend

    rating25 Sept 2026

Nice hotel, very pleasant staff with easy check in and out. Easy taxi ride from the airport (about 17-20 euros) or you can get the train direct from the airport to Torremolinos station which is a 2 minute walk to the hotel and costs about 2 euros. We opted for a taxi due to the hot weather as figured during our trip the C1 trainline is very busy and gets very full going between Malaga and Fuengirola, not ideal with luggage although only a short journey and they run every 7 mins or so. Our room was spacious compared to many hotels, very comfortable beds and the rooms were cleaned daily. The balcony was very small but we used it often to try and cool down in the midday heat so it wasn't uncomfortable and the air conditioning helped which does pull onto the balcony if leaving the patio door slightly open. We are not pool users but we went a couple of times to the pool & bar area. Very friendly staff, clean and lots of choices for drinks and food if wanted. We booked breakfast only and were not disappointed, there were plenty of choices from cooked breakfasts, continental, fruit, cold meats/cheeses and many other options. We only ate once for an evening dinner without booking and paid an extra 44 euros (£33) for us both which was very nice and lots of choice. There are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants nearby on the walk down to the beach which takes about 10-15 minutes downhill plus and the option to get the lift back up. Plenty of small supermarkets nearby also to get waters/snacks etc and there is a good working fridge in the room to keep beers and waters cold. Reviews I read about the noise before going, it was no noisier than any hotel anywhere, we slept well and it was not an issue for us and suggest people who want zero noise, you can find full lists of certified properties directly on the Quiet Hotel Rooms Search Directory. All in all, a very good hotel, the cleaning staff are lovely and I suggest leaving them a good tip as they work very hard all day. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Costa Malaga (Adults recommended), responded to this review Dear Nik,Thank you for sharing such a valuable review. We are thrilled that you found our hotel lovely and would recommend it so warmly. Our team takes great pride in offering a smooth check-in and check-out, so it is rewarding to know you felt well looked after from the moment you arrived. We are glad you found your room spacious and the beds comfortable. Our housekeeping team works hard every day to keep everything fresh, and your kind suggestion to leave them a tip will surely make them smile. It is also good to hear that the balcony and air conditioning helped you cool down during the midday heat.We are pleased you enjoyed the pool and bar area, as well as the wide selection at breakfast. Knowing that your evening dinner was a pleasant surprise adds to our satisfaction. The nearby shops, bars, and the short stroll to the beach make our location a real asset, and we are happy you made the most of it. We also appreciate your balanced take on the noise levels, since we want every guest to rest well, and we are delighted that your sleep was undisturbed. We hope to have the opportunity of welcoming you back in the future.Best wishes,DEPUTY MANAGER

    Mixed bag

    rating21 Sept 2026

Quite a mixed bag with this hotel. Good position for bars & restaurants and short walk from train station.Reception area and receptionist very welcoming. Arrived early & able to check in. Breakfast was great. Bedroom was a decent size, does need updating, balcony very small, quite pointless! Bathroom very small, not practical. Great shower.Roof bar was lovely.Biggest let down was pool area, pool was small and limited space for sunbeds, which were crammed in, music very loud! Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Costa Malaga (Adults recommended), responded to this review Dear Tracy,Thank you for writing a review. We are delighted that you enjoyed our breakfast offering and found the reception team warm and welcoming. It is also great to know that the early check-in allowed you to settle in without delay, and that the bedroom felt spacious and the shower provided a satisfying start to your day. However, we are sincerely sorry that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. The compact design of certain room features reflects the Mediterranean style of the building, and we understand this can feel limiting. We also regret that the poolside atmosphere, with its lively music and tightly arranged loungers, fell short of the relaxing setting you were hoping for. Your feedback on these points has been noted with care. Finally, we are pleased that the rooftop bar left a lovely impression and that our location made it easy for you to explore the nearby bars, restaurants, and the train station just a short stroll away.We hope to welcome you back soon.Best wishes,DEPUTY MANAGER

    My Experience

    rating18 Sept 2026

I have stayed here numerous times over the years however the new owners have really let standards fall. They claim the rooms are soundproofed (I experienced noise for 5 nights and was unable to sleep). The SMELL of cannabis was overpowering from the balconies below hence I was unable to have the balcony door open. The breakfast is good however the evening meals are very much the same and fail on choice. There are not enough sun-beds on site leaving many people disappointed (and this has got much worse) On a positive note the staff are very friendly/helpful.I am sorry to say I don’t recommend this hotel. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel Costa Malaga (Adults recommended), responded to this review Dear David,Your feedback matters to us.It is always a pleasure to welcome a returning guest, and we are heartened that you found our team friendly and helpful throughout your time with us.However, we are truly sorry to hear that some aspects of your recent stay did not meet your expectations. We understand the importance of a restful experience, and our reception team is always ready to help with any concerns that may arise on the spot. We also regret that the sun terrace felt busier than you had hoped. The outdoor pool area, complete with loungers and Bali beds, is open daily from 10:00 to 20:00, and our staff are happy to assist in finding a suitable moment to enjoy it. Your comments about the evening dining variety have been noted as well, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective with us.Nonetheless, we are pleased that you enjoyed the varied breakfast selection. We hope that you will return in the future for a more enjoyable stay.Kindest regards,DEPUTY MANAGER

    Near perfect hotel

    rating02 Sept 2026

A really lovely hotel, beautifully decorated so very relaxing. There is a wonderful homely feel to this hotel and the staff are so warm and friendly. Everything you need for the perfect stay > perfect pool with bali beds at a reasonable cost or plenty of sunbeds in sun or shade and a quieter area available. Music was really good, food and drinks all day also a pool table and massge services near the vibey pool area. Towels available for a deposit. The food was good some really nice selections and chef specials cooked fresh for morning and dinner. The girl to greet in dining area is a gem so lovely. Nice roof top bar. Really close to shops bars and restaurants and the local bus service just down the road. Crocodile park 18 mins flat walk away. Beach long walk 19 or 5 mins down steps. Promenade next to beach with lots of water activities and bars etc. Lift available for return instead of steps for 50 cent. Rooms are lovely > tea/coffee, air con, luggage rest, desk mirror, lamps lighting good, info for hotel really good on card and qr. Soap body/ hair wash provided. Really nice decor and spacious bathroom. Balcony small but was pefect to sit and relax no morr needed and personally i love a road view more than a pool view so was happy. The only things i wish management knew were, sometimes when we closed our room door it didn't lock ( this needs investigation for safety) and the key card didnt work sometimes. The shower sometimes leaked out from the bottom onto the floor which continued onto the beautiful wooden floor outside the bathroom (they are getting damaged) i did tell reception but nothing was done ( i was told a maid would bring an extra towel ) it was ok just wanted to let them know. A hook would be so helpful for the bathroom to hang towels or clothes, no need for shelves etc a hook or 2 would be perfect. Overall a beautiful hotel with everything you need and such a relaxing vibe. For maximum retainmemt of guests may i suggest a dedicated person to oversee maintenance, cleaning, flagged elements that pop up because that is all that is needed for an amazing crew of staff and an absolutely beautiful hotel.
