  - DETAILED REVIEW BELOW - Overall : ⭐️⭐️——————Staff : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Rooms : ⭐️⭐️⭐️Cleaning : ⭐️Others : ⭐️——————Exactly 2 years ago we came to Hotel Zen and rated it 5 ⭐️ so I want to start by saying it physically hurts me to even rate it this low but I feel like this is an opportunity for them to get better.——————PRICE BREAKDOWN :Room w breakfast - 4 nights - 280€ - 2 adults.Parking - 12€ per night.Add an extra person to our room - 220€ Breakfast - 15€ per person per day.Food - 16€-20€ per person per meal.Drinks - Water 3€ - Pepsi 3,50€ - Beer starts at 4€Ice creams start at 3,80€ mostly ranging from 5€ - 7€——————ROOM :We paid in total 500€ for a room with a double bed and a fold away bed for a total of 3 adults for 4 nights. The room was spacious and comfortable, bathroom has a lovely shower and our room had a big and spacious wardrobe with a mini fridge (also includes a freezer), a safe and plenty of space for luggage and hanging clothes. Beds were okay and I think they could do better on pillows and towels in general. ——————HOTEL : The hotel has added a jacuzzi and a sauna to the amenities list which is really nice.The jacuzzi would fit about 4/5 people snuggly and the sauna about 2/3 people comfortably. The pool was lovely and warm and sun beds are available at no extra cost. We know they have beach towels upon request however we did not use that service. Now for the less nice things about the hotel would be things like burst water pipes that would soak up our eating área as well às make our space to hang clothes to dry completely useless as they’d end up soaked.The space around the pool/ jacuzzi could do a major floor reform since Theres broken concrete that makes walking around the pool slightly dangerous. All throughout the hotel you see cigarette ends and ashes that guests leave laying around and in the week we were here those were ignored and not cleaned. The hotel does not have or enforce any rules on guest behaviour which allows other guests to party at the pool (with alcohol bottles and smoke) and loud and disruptive behaviour at all hours of the day and night. ——————CLEANING:This was such a weird experience with the cleaning crew. Every single night we woke up multiple times throughout the night with the cleaning staff moving and stomping above us and around us. Whilst I appreciate rooms need cleaning 24/7 there should be some consideration for other guests specially at 3am.In multiple occasions they would set up their cleaning stations with towels and paper towels and trolleys right outside our doors even if we had the “do not disturb” sign up.We were approached by the head of the cleaning crew asking if we needed cleaning (after she saw the sign) to which we said no but she continued to clean around us and handing us towels and asking if she could come and clean our rooms. On the day my mum left the “please come in” sign so they would clean the room, the staff came (we know because they left the light on) but did not clean. You can hear her trolleys going up and down the ramps at ALL HOURS, specially during the night. I have never had an experience with cleaning like this in any other hotel and it was definitely not like this 2 years ago. ——————BREAKFAST :We really are disappointed with Hotel Zen because of breakfast this time around. We paid 15€ per person per day to eat breakfast and here are the choices:- Bacon / Beans / Sausages- Pancakes (stale 🫣) and sauces.- Cereal and milk.- Mini donuts / pain au chocolate- Watery orange juice from a machineWith 15€ in any coffee shop you’d eat so much more and much better than that even in a touristy area like malagueta beach or Malaga city centre.There was no scrambled eggs, no fresh fruit (other than a bowl of apples) and no real reflection of Spanish cuisine in the breakfast.——————EXTRAS :Parking is definitely overpriced at 12€ per night as they know you have no parking anywhere near the hotel (or it’s extremely hard to get).Shuttle to the beach has limited hours at the end of April with almost 30°C because its ’low season”.Shuttle bus to airport has set hours that not always will be suitable for your flight making you wait longer in the airport (which is an absolute nightmare) or get an uber for 20€+.The lack of activities or other engaging things isn’t of a 4⭐️ hotel. Theres so many things to do around Torremolinos that the hotel could facilitate but it’s almost like a bed and breakfast. For example : - Thursday Bus leaving for the Torremolinos market every hour until 12. ——————In the end we had a great week in family but I would now consider well before coming back to Hotel Zen which breaks my heart as our first experience was so amazing in June of 2024.——————Another major downside for us is that now they will request a 200€ deposit upon check in PER ROOM which is unheard of since it’s not a luxury hotel or tourist fee

  We had bugs in our room

  After showering and settling in. We noticed bugs in our room. Thankfully I had a small container of bug spray. It appears they might have been there for a while, which makes me question the cleanliness.Otherwise I would have rated much higher.

  There are a lot of positives about the hotel but also a lot of negatives. We found the rooms were very nice, the hotel was very quiet and the pool area was lovely, with plenty of seating areas - though we were off season and the Irish Pub was closed so not sure how quiet it will be when it is open.There aren't any other bars or restaurants nearby so we had little choice but to eat and drink there (there is one restaurant nearby but it was closed until Summer). The food and drinks are quite expensive - and the food was pretty dreadful. It is simple Italian so what can go wrong? The pizza was one of the worst I've ever had, very disappointed. I'm sure it wouldn't take much effort to improve it massively.The other negative is that the shuttle bus does not start until 5 a.m. (this information was not obvious on Booking.com so, while we booked the hotel to make it easy to get to the airport, we had to get a taxi which cost 20 Euros.That said, it is only 10 mins to the airport so I would probably use the hotel again - unless I could find one with other bars & restaurants nearby

  I stayed at this hotel for just one night, but the experience was very positive. The airport shuttle service made all the difference: arriving late in the evening, knowing that a transfer was already arranged completely took away the stress of finding a taxi or figuring out how to get to the hotel.The room was clean, comfortable, and quiet — perfect for resting after the journey. Communication with the staff via the app was also excellent: they were always quick to respond and very helpful with my requests.Overall, a practical and reliable choice. Highly recommended!   Great Value for Money!

  Having missed a flight we wanted a hotel close to the airport and cheap. I was pleasantly surprised with the value for money we got! Staff so friendly and nice, weighing machine to weigh your luggage for free and even sweets at the counter, free shuttle bus to the airport. Rooms were spotless and equipped with fridge, towels and shampoo and shower gel. Food was so nice too. It really is a Zen hotel like the names suggests, chill vibes, well done guys!!!
