Mostly an amazing hotel minor tweaks needed and poor check out experience hence the 4/5 rating

    rating08 Oct 2026

Had a lovely week break here on a quiet girls trip. The hotel is beautiful and exceptional staff throughout. The bar and restaurant and pool teams work so hard to make sure everything goes smoothly. One buffet restaurant with a themed dinner every night so always something to eat. Snack bar serving fries burgers toasties from 3-6Ice cream hut is divine with fresh cones and wafer bowls with ice creams / slushies / milkshakes all in your Al. Our coffee hit was met by the star cafe perfectly made hot and iced coffees.Spa beautiful a little expensive .The pool area is stunning and immaculate.Recommendations 1. please can have you non smoking spaces by the pool / star cafe and outdoor terraces to keep the space comfortable for all. The smell is intoxicating at times for non smokers.overall. I would recommend this hotel ( minus the choking cigarettes)2. Please arrange to book the courtesy room rather than stand wait for it to be free 3. You are not allowed food after midday so if a late afternoon / evening flight stock up at breakfast . Not had this at an Iberostar before as you’ve always been welcome to eat and drink til you leave 4. On check out staff barely can be polite give eye contact or wish you well - disappointing Overall a great hotel but be mindful of above

    Wonderful hotel!

    rating02 Oct 2026

The hotel was amazing and we had a great 4 nights. From the moment we arrived the lobby was stunning and check in was quick. We were given all inclusive bands which also have a fob for your room, so no carrying a card all week. The room had sea and pool view and a great balcony, which we watched the entertainment from some nights. The room was clean and large and faultless. The food was lovely, fresh and lots of choice in the main restaurant. There was also a coffee bar an ice cream stand and plenty of bars around the complex including a pool bar. The pool was large enough for a few lengths and had a nice relaxing vibe. Getting loungers was no issue and not having to go down early to get one.The hotel overlooks a stunning beach at the back and you can walk out the back gate and it is there. The gate is also fob protected so anyone cannot just walk in the hotel grounds. The sea waves were ace and there is a huge promenade filled with restaurants and bars and shops and you can walk right down to the stunning lighthouse. The staff were all very friendly and so helpful with anything we needed. One day they brought ice creams and lollies to everyone around the pool, which was a nice touch. This hotel was brilliant and the location is ace, it's easy to get a bus to Nerja which is 20 mins away and was also amazing.

    Great hotel and wonderful staff.

    rating22 Sept 2026

We had a 1 bedroom apartment which is in a building separate from the hotel and therefore very peaceful. The apartment was spacious, very clean, a large modern bathroom with good quality toiletries. The kitchen is basic but a decent fridge for keeping drinks and light food options. There are water stations on every floor so you can refill your water bottle. Our terrace faced west and had sun all afternoon until sunset. The air con worked well and the bed was extremely comfortable. We took the half board option and the food choices were wonderful, lots of variety and platters replenished on a regular basis. My only suggestion would be an adults only area for people who wanted to have a quiet dinner without babies crying or toddlers running around, crying and unruly children aren't everyones cup of tea.The pool area is huge, lots of sunbeds but the usual problem of people putting towels on sunbeds but then disappearing for a long time and not using them. The pool is large and although lots of people swimming there was always space to swim. Perhaps a smoking area for smokers would be good, not everyone wants to breathe in tobacco or vape fumes. The staff are all lovely, very polite, friendly and welcolming and the housemaids do a wonderful job, the whole hotel is gleaming. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay and will definitely be back.

Definitely meets the 4* Iberostar standards

    rating18 Sept 2026

Went to this hotel from September 13/-18 with some family members. We have visited several Iberostar hotels before (rated 4* and 5*) so my opinion of this hotel is based on those experiences too. I haven't visited this hotel during high season/holidays so my experience is not about that.If compared to the other Iberostar visits, this hotel definitely meets the standards that I'm used to, to be a representative 4* Iberostar hotel. It doesn't have all the luxury touches of a 5* Iberostar, but that's definitely no big deal. Overall impression: beautiful hotel, very clean, beautiful entourage and architecture.Doesn't look outdated. Variety in guests; some families with young children, friends, couples, older couples, families with mature children. Different nationalities: I heard Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, but might be even more.Staff: very friendly and working hard. In the restaurant they approach you in Spanish most of the times but if you talk English they will reply in English. Also a few Dutch staff members which made communication easier for us. Room: They provide a bracelet with a chip which is your room key. Very neat and spacious with a balcony. Bed is comfortable, not too soft and not too hard Other family members had a room with the wardrobe in the hall, but mine was on the right side of my bedThe drawers in the most left door of my wardrobe could not be opened because the bedside table was too close. Making it difficult to use properly. I had a double room for single use, so I just used the other doors/sides of the wardrobe, but if you're with two people this might be a problem, although there's plenty of space in the drawers of the bedside tables. They provide a safe lock and a small (empty) fridge to use for free.No coffee/tea facilities or bath robe/slippers but that's what I considered the luxury aspect.Bathroom: has been refurbished and has a both a hand- and rain shower. They provide shampoo, conditioner, bodylotion, hand- and body wash and a hair dryerFood: we had all inclusive and had lots of options. Definitely what I expect from Iberostar standard. Many options, a lot of variety on different days. Some options would be the same every day but there's always a lot to choose from. Also many options for drinks, snacks, ice cream.Entertainment: during our stay they provided loads of activities during the day and entertainment during the night. The hotel was very busy, but during our stay we never had too wait too long for anything. I'd recommend being in time for evening entertainment to be secured of a place to sit.Pool: there is one main pool and a pool/water fun for children. We only visited the main pool and there were sunbeds available all day, but I read that's different during holidays. The hotel provides non-moveable parasols next to a pair of beds. It's easy because you don't have to move heavy parasols but it you want to lay in the shadow (or sun) you might move to a different sunbed.Smoking was allowed on different places outside: they already provide ash trays on the terrace, near the pool bar, at the snack bar. You can ask for an ash tray for your room balcony. Location: It's a 45 min drive from Malaga airport to the hotel. Torrox Costa is a quiet place without stores or a nightlife but literally next to the beach. If you like a lively place this might not be the right place for you, or you should get a car/plan trips to places near Torrox like Nerja etc. My family members like to walk around the boulevard at night and visit some stores, but Torrox Costa ain't the place to do so. They recommend the hotel but not the location. I like staying in the hotel and don't need to go around so I would consider to return in the future.
