  Just back from 8 nights at ilunion Mirimar hotel was nice and clean, staff attentive and with a massive pool and plenty sunloungers no problems with overcrowding. Unfortunately on our second day the poolside bar (Aquabar) was suddenly closed meaning to get a drink you had to use the indoor restaurant, which only had a small terrace which was often full. The Aquabar had a really nice sitting area with shade and open space. Don’t be put off staying here due to the location there is a very regular bus service (no1) which runs into Fuengirola centre in 10-15 minutes €1.20 per person. Also the massive shopping centre and a large Lidl stare 5 mins walk away. We will definitely return to this hotel

  We booked a pool view room and I emailed the hotel a week before departure to request a sunny balcony if possible. We received exactly what we requested, block 3 floor 5, we had sun all day until sunset, many thanks ??.Rooms are ok, TV swivels so you can watch from the balcony and easy to input your firestick. Kitchen basic, no oven, microwave bowls, freezer space, coffee machine or mugs (only cups for hot drinks) Tea towel, dishcloth and very small washing up liquid is provided.Shower is a bit strange, instead of a turn dial it’s a lever you pull towards you, needless to say as you move you knock it and turn the shower off.Pool very nice, water warm and endless amounts of sunbeds available at anytime.Pool opens at 10.30 and closes 18.30. Pool bar expensive but you have a massive shopping centre opposite with a Carrefore and you can purchase drinks nibbles and a cooler bag over there and nobody bats an eyelid to consuming your own by the pool.Table tennis is €5 for an hour or like we did take your own bats and ball. Reception staff are really friendly and particular mention to Pablo (Barca fan) and Christophe (PSG fan). Location is quite a distance from the centre, marina and fish alley (an hour walk) although we like walking so it suited us.We always walked along the river and then crossed the suspension bridge to the promenade.One night we experienced a wild boar with 6 babies following it, apparently it’s not uncommon, just don’t go near it.All in we had a great holiday and would definitely return to Fuengirola although we may try another establishment but it was a good 3 stars from me. ????????

  Good clean apartments, we were in block 3 room 3510 which was ideal ,only one apartment beside you & nobody above, breakfast very basicdon't know about the rest as we were b&b , lovely pool , & great supermarket next door, will return but to a hotel closer to the front .

  Just back from a few nights stay here with my husband and young baby. Overall we had a great experience for our first family holiday. I wanted to make note that the apartment had a tea towel, fairy liquid, dish cloth and scrubber. Other reviews had said these were not available. Also, I had contacted the hotel before we travelled and they provided a high chair and travel cot for us which was much appreciated. The pool was fantastic for both us and our baby. The baby pool is so shallow that he could sit in it and splash which was great. And the adult pool was a great size. It wasn’t busy when we were there so we had no issues with getting sunbeds etc. Beach towels are not available for rent so bring your own. The rooms are cleaned only every 4 days but the staff had no issues changing towels etc for us. Also large bins were available at the end of the corridor if needed in between room cleans.Our bathroom had both a shower and a bath with overhead shower. We were aware that the apartments were about 15-20 min walk from the main area of Fuengeriola before we booked. However, something we didn’t realise was that it’s at least 20 min walk before you hit anything of note, cafe, restaurants etc. Obviously the shopping centre is only about 5 min walk but we just found it a bit of a boring walk to the main area. Most places we wanted to go to were at least 25-30 mins walk. We had no issues with anything. Apartments are basic but have everything you need and are clean. We found the staff at reception and pool bar very friendly and we would definitely recommend the apartments to families.

  Be aware of location. Be aware of extras you have to pay for. Block 3 pool view gets sun and views.

  Wish I could give 3.5 stars as not that bad but have to be honest in my feedback its not worth more.We stayed for 10 nights in a 1 bed pool view room. We emailed beforehand to ask for a sunny balcony and that's what we got. Fabulous.We really enjoyed our stay but need to leave honest feedback.Negatives:Reception staff very friendly and gave us our room key but did not tell us we were in another block so we went up and down in the lifts in the main building til we asked someone where we should go. Tbh not a lot of information on display either. You need to check info on the QR card in room. 5 days in and we finally saw animation team and heard evening entertainment for 1st time! Also on last day found 1st floor seating area with book exchange! Need more signage for people who dont live on QR codes. No microwavable bowls etc in the kitchenette so we had to use cups for beans etc. Only 1 saucepan so you had to wait for one thing before you could cook another. Need to provide mugs as small cups and saucers. Or teapot would help.No oven so restricted on cooking to whatever you could fry or boil. Kitchen area quite restricted ie sink next to kettle next to toaster so very tight on workspace.Balcony has a step then patio door threshold. Black tape on step but does not help anyone see the trip hazard. I broke toenail on day 1.Beds - like rock. Not comfortable at all. Mattress topper would help. Beds also like hospital beds that raise up and have a brake. I woke up one morning a foot away from where I started as brake not on?? Hairdryer awful. Like a hoover on reverse. My fine hair takes 5 minutes at home. Here it never dried. Bring your own. I ended up putting my hair up as easier than dealing with hairdryer.You have to pay extra for most things ie ping pong, gym and crazy golf. Never known that anywhere. Luckily we always take our own bats. Never had to pay 5 euros to hire ping pong bats for an hour before!Cleaning not great. Bath never cleaned entire 10 nights so had tide marks entire time here. I know its self catering but I dont expect to have to buy products to clean bath and shower! We have been SC before and maids always cleaned bathrooms and floors.Positives:Room 3507 in block 3. Sun all day. 2 patio doors, one from lounge other from bedroom. Partial Seaview and castle turret too.Double clothes horse so csn easily dry lots of clothes. Laundry room bottom of block 3 if you want to wash stuff before you go home.Aircon great.Bath and separate shower suited both of us. Soaps on offer for both.No issue getting sunbeds. We preferred beds near kids pool as no umbrellas plus sun til about 6pm.Staff fabulous. Lady who does massages very friendly.Location of hotel away from main hub but we preferred it. Very Spanish. Mainly Spanish and Irish visitors in Sept. Lovely walk along river to the beach then walk as far as you like to find what you want. We walked about 17000 steps on average throughout the day/night.Shopping centre at back of hotel. Yes you can use trolleys but not sure if you can bring into hotel so still have to carry through hotel to your room. Swimming pool very shallow so only babies used kids pool. Wouldn't return tbh as more negatives for us than positives. However we had a wonderful holiday and will return to Fuengirola.
