  Hotel Apartmentos MANILVA SUN holiday

  Stayed 3 nights at the beginning of May 2026, arriving after a delayed windy flight. The girl at reception was welcoming and calming. Thrilled, excited and enchanted to discover house martins nesting in various places around the complex! If you are lucky, which my partner was, you might see little heads with open beaks being fed. Before we even found and opened the door to our apartment we immediately started vague plans to return next year so that we could see the house martins and their babies !! Thank you, Manilva Sun. Allocated a lovely apartment where everything worked well. Washing machine, dishwasher, oven (did not use), 4 ceramic rings, microwave. (No kettle, used a saucepan to boil water for tea.) Mop and broom, useful in case of minor spillage. Having read previous reviews, we brought our own soap and shampoo. Took our own dishwasher tablets, detergent, kitchen towel, washing up liquid, kitchen paper,sponge, etc. The only thing I personally did not like was that the mattress was too soft for me. It was not damaged, ie sunken spots, but my own preference is for a firm supportive mattress. Can't please all the people all of the time... All praise that the blanket in the wardrobe was immaculately clean in a zipped plastic bag - I slept under it every night and was so grateful that it was clean. Towels and linen changed once a week (guests must take their used towels to be exchanged for clean). This did not affect us as our stay was shorter, but it would have been quite acceptable from our point of view.There is a bar and cafe adjacent the pool area. Friendly barmaid. There is a little shop - ice creams and drinks and some essentials. Car is necessary as some way up the hill. DIA supermarket at the bottom near the main road is open on Sundays. Everything and everywhere was clean and well kept. One afternoon a small child hurled innumerable stones and rocks into the kiddies pool at the behest of his older sister all the while watched by their parents who did nothing to restrain them. By the time the pool opened next morning the groundsman had removed all the rocks and cleaned the pool.We liked the pool area very much as there was sun and shade and trees and even a grape vine on the fence. Some places have no shade, here was perfect for us. In high season there may not be enough sunbeds but at this time of year there were sufficient for every one at any time of the day. Some guests will probably be out at the beach, sightseeing etc. Hoping to return here next year to see the house martins....

  Just back from a lovely week here, and looking forward to returning in July. Great location for a quiet break, but close enough to Gibraltar and Marbella for those wanting more to do in the day, shopping etc. Rooms have had new sofas and furniture since my last visit, which is nice. There is a pool and toddlers pool on site, if you want to spend the day onsite, or plenty of beaches nearby. If not self catering there are loads of places to eat in Duqesca Port, or Marlows at the bottom of the estate - all are walkable, although it is uphill on the way back, so taxi may be an option returning. Rooms are clean, and good value. Rooms have dishwasher, microwave and washing machines as well as oven so you aren't left wanting. On arriving I found there was no kettle in my room, which was easily sorted with the lady on reception. There are several golf courses nearby (if you play) and Blue Fitness (gym) at the bottom of the estate for those wanting more active things to do.

  Stayed for the second time at Manilva sun apartments from 15/9/25 to 22/9/25 , again we were not disappointed , excellent management, it’s extremely clean, friendly staff, quite location and good value

  We wnt to Manilva Sun from the 28th of July to the 4th of august and it is one of the best weeks holiday we have had, the staff were very helpful and attentive, the apartments were clean and well maintained, there is plenty of parking and it is in a nice secluded location, the pool is great and the kids loved it but it is also near enough to the beach so we could go down as well.The only minor criticism that I have is the lack of a lifeguard in the pool so if someone should get into difficulty it would be up to the other pool users to take them out.The bar only has sandwiches, this could be improved maybe have a few Tapas.overall agreat experience highly reccomended, I will certainly be returning.

  Exactly what we wanted

  Having stayed in Manilva last year, my wife and I decided on a return trip this year. I found the Manilva Sun apartments on a UK website, but then discovered I could book directly online at a discount. Needing twin beds, I was advised to choose a two bedroom apartment. I asked for one on a higher floor and looking out towards the mountains and sea. That is exactly what we got and we never tired of looking at the views. We were so content with our spacious apartment that we hardly bothered to explore the rest of the facilities. It was hot outside but the apartment was cool without us needing to turn on the air conditioning. The staff we met were both friendly and helpful, especially when we were first trying to find our way around. The location is quiet and we had several early morning exploratory walks along the tracks beyond the apartments. We would be more than happy to go back to Manilva Sun again, particularly since we discovered, on the road up to Manilva itself, Asador A Grella (not yet featured on TripAdvisor) as a place to have a substantial menu del dia for 13.50 euros.
