  A fantastic stay at the ONA Princess Plaza in Marbella

  We stayed at tge ONA Princess Playa with friends so that the ladies could take part in the Marbella 4 Day walking festival with more than 4000 Dutch walkers in the 15th year of this increasingly popular annual walking festival.The staff at ONA Princess Playa were both friendly and.competent in a professional way and we found this Hotel perfectly suited to our needs and central for Marbella, the Old Town, beach and promenade and 20 mins walk to the festival itself. Alberto Garcia who checked us in and the reception team were always very helpful and always present.The hotel had a very pleasant breakfast area which opens at 8am every day and Ana the lady who was always present was great too.A really special treat was the unusual but very special pest control method to deal with the seagulls on the outside breakfast terrace where on two days we met a really friendly man who flies a Harries Hawk twice each week.This was an in redible experience to see Oasis the hawk at work with his handler.A really enjoyable stay and felt lime a home from home...thank you Hotel Manager, Owner at Princesa Playa Aparthotel, responded to this review Hi there!Your kind words are music to our ears ??   Not really 4 stars....BF is extraordinary, anything you expect is there! Rooms are spacious, bathroom as well. Rugs on the hallways are ancient old with holes! Show hotel is old, but efforts to preserve are there.Cleaning ladies/system is very bad. They just don't do it, come late and don't change sheets! Unacceptable!Complaints don't really help. Reception is polite,takes note but nothing changes.Too bad...hotel is otherwise a nice place! Regarding the cleaning, our apartments include daily housekeeping except for the kitchen, and sheets are refreshed regularly, so it's disappointing that this didn't match your experience.   Disappointing Stay, Has Potential but Lacks the 4 Star Quality

  Just returned from a one-week stay at Hotel Princesa Playa in Marbella. Having stayed here many years ago, it was disappointing to see how much the property has aged without being properly maintained its really gone down hill. Its definitely not operating at a true 4-star standard. There are broken tiles at lift area at ground floor level and also internal floor tiles with heavy dirty stains and mis matched tiles at the lift areas on floors. ?The rooms are very dated, though quality seems inconsistent (my Mams room was notably better than ours with decor). We paid extra for a sea view room, and while the view was nice, the balcony got no sun during the day despite requesting a sunny room in advance. The thin walls mean you hear everything from the neighboring rooms and definitely cant relax in the rooms at all and noise from the nearby gym area at beachfront carries throughout the day and evening with them playing their own music on speakers!! ?Additional inconveniences included extremely slow elevators and a haphazard breakfast spread where the options changed constantly rather than staying consistent each day. On a positive note, the breakfast staff were friendly and attentive, and while the pool area is small with uncomfortable loungers, we never had trouble finding one but you wouldn't want to spend long up there and chill out. ?Ultimately, this hotel might work okay if you just need a base for a city break style trip, but if you are looking to relax and chill out, I would avoid at all costs. It has great potential due to its location, but right now it falls short and struggles to offer the 4 star standard. The building's upkeep and room conditions are areas where we aim to maintain consistent standards, and we regret that the tile work and décor did not reflect this during your visit. Regarding the noise, our house rules do enforce quiet hours from 23:00 to 09:00, and we recognise that sound from neighboring areas can affect comfort at other times.Breakfast at our bar terrace overlooking the Mediterranean is designed to offer variety, though we note your preference for a more consistent layout. As for the balcony, our sea view apartments face different orientations, and while we try to accommodate preferences, specific sun exposure cannot always be guaranteed. Our central Marbella setting offers the perfect base for exploring the old town and Puerto Banús.We're optimistic that you'll return for a better stay.Take care,Ona Princesa Playa

  Lovely relaxing stay

  Great four day stay here with my husband and our friends.We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and the staff are so friendly and welcoming, from the minute we stepped into the reception we know we were going to have a great stay. The whole place is kept very clean and we had a great cleaner. Breakfast is very nice, with plenty of choice.We felt the surrounding area was very quiet and so we had a good rest. We left early this morning for our flight home and as we weren't able to have breakfast, they made us up a goody bag to take to the airport, with water, fruit, biscuits and a sandwich.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here, as its so close to the beach, shops and restaurants, with beautiful old Marbella town just behind us.
