Another great Palia holiday

Live the location of the hotel, able to access both sides of Torremolinos really easily. The hotel has a soft, calm atmosphere. Staff are lovely, check in and our was smooth. One issue with the shower drain flooding the first night but hotel had this sorted within 20 minutes. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and the balconies are lovely. Room was clean and this year they have added a kettle, however this wasn't restocked during the week. We also received water in the room on arrival which we haven't experienced in the last 2 times we have visited. Room was cleaned daily. For what we paid the hotel is value for money. Always able to eat at meal times, pool bar food was great, especially the pizza at the new pool. The new pool is a lovely addition this year. Plenty of sun beds and space. Bar well stocked and staff remembered our drinks orders. Another great holiday at Palia Las Palomas.

Great location, stinks of damp

Just got home to the UK after a weeks stay here. We had a fantastic holiday, the pools were lovely, the food was very good with plenty of choice and the hotels location was just perfect, the Carihuela beach area was gorgeous with so many bars/restaurants/shops.As much as we enjoyed our holiday, I have to make a few comments regarding the hotel:1. Our room, now granted we booked an economy room, but what we didn’t expect was to be in the basement which absolutely stunk of damp, damp all over the corridor walls and in our room (see pics). Our room itself was large with comfy beds, but we had no balcony and a view of a brick wall!2. The steps around the hotel! This didn’t bother us in the slightest as we are a pair of 40 somethings, however, there was lots of elderly guests who struggled immensely navigating themselves around the hotel grounds. I would definitely not recommend this venue for people who are less mobile.3. The entertainment! Everything is in French, they speak nothing in English, all the entertainment is run by Jumbo Club reps (no idea what that even is), and it is crap! And when I say crap, it was laughably crap. On one night there was some weird ‘fancy dress for adults’ that only a group of French tourists seemed to know about. I have never known anything quite as odd.Would I come back to this hotel? Yes I would, purely for the location and the food, however I would specifically request that we had a balcony room and were not on floor 1 in the basement!

Stayed for 9 nights in September. Lovely welcome at reception from Daniel. Room clean and large. Shower good BUT flooded our room for the first two days. Blocked! Water going into our hall and out of the main door of our room. Not a new problem judging by the swollen, cracked wood of the bathroom door frame. 2 visits to reception resulted in no action. A WhatsApp message to Jet 2 and it was sorted the next day. Cleaning of room below par. Cups and (paper) cups not changed or cleaned during our stay. Floor not swept at all. Beds made and clean towels provided. Two lovely, large pool areas. We preferred the one furthest away. No chance of sun bed bagging as gates don’t open til 10am. Plenty of sunbeds and loungers no matter what time you go. Food on tap at pools which was ok. Lots of ants and food not covered though. Local drinks fine. It never bothers me they’re not as strong as labelled. Everyone would be schwartled if they were. Cocktails awful from a machine. Coffee from machines not great either, i think it was the long life milk. Food variable on AI. A couple of good meals, the rest average AI. Stresses me out a bit that all tings went into the food, no trays to rest them on, so people’s grubby hand germs were going into the food. Entertainment team work hard and long hours. All friendly. Would return but perhaps not AI. Location was great, facilities great. Having read some poor reviews before our holiday we were very apprehensive but have to say were pleasantly surprised. The room was basic but cumfortable and clean even though needing some minor diy fixes. We didnt have a balcony but that was our fault for not realising this when we booked-wouldnt make that mistake again.Food was good, a bit repetative towards the end but that is the same everywhere.The staff we generally very good,pleasant and helpfull.Entertainment was ok espeacialy the Jumbo on site team.Pool areas were excelent and always able to get a sunbed never mind what time of day due to the leaving of towels on sunbeds rule.Position of the hotel very good for bus services and the beach is only 5 minutes away.We will hopefully be at the Palia Las Palomas again next year. Another Fabulous Stay!

Stayed at Palia Las Palomas for a second time with my Partner. Cannot fault what the hotel has to offer at all. The staff are incredibly helpful, the food is brilliant with plenty of choices and the second pool is a great addition. David on the reception desk was especially helpful in arranging a day pass family who lived nearby too. All in all, another great stay and we can’t wait to come back!
