    Good value for money

    rating01 May 2026

The hotel is a little tired looking on the outside and the rooms are cosy. We did find that it can be quite noisy with fish alley right below us and general coming and goings of people / maids outside the room in the mornings. The toilet/shower area is very small and if you’re on the larger size it will be a tight squeeze. Personally I’m not a fan of the open bathroom concept that most hotels seem to be updating too. The air con seems to be set to 24 degrees and you’re not able to change it for cooler or warmer. The hairdryer was an annoyance - as someone with long hair it was next to useless and took so long to dry my hair that I’d end up giving up.All the staff we encountered were super friendly and helpful and the roof top bar is fab for a few sundowners. The weather wasn’t the best so we didn’t use the pool but I imagine it would be very popular in the summer. The location of the hotel is good with the train, bus and port very close by.All in all for the price we paid (£250 p/p inc flights, carry on luggage and 4 nights accommodation on room only basis) we thought it was a perfect short break and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as a place to stay.

    Great location in fuengriola

    rating21 Apr 2026

My second time staying in this hotel, it's straight across the road from the beach, with loads of restaurants within 5 mins walk of the hotel.OK the rooms are small but have everything you require,If you spend a lot of time in your room I couldn't recommend but if like me you just sleep and shower there it's just perfect I'd have to recommend this hotel and I will stay again, Rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel El Puerto by Pierre & Vacances, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are thrilled to hear that your experience at Hotel El Puerto by Pierre & Vacances met your expectations once again. It’s wonderful that our proximity to the beach and nearby dining options added convenience to your stay. Our team takes pride in maintaining our central location, making it easy for guests to explore Fuengirola’s vibrant surroundings. That said, we regret any discomfort our room layout may have caused. Ensuring fresh, comfortable spaces for every guest is a priority, and we’re delighted this contributed to your positive stay.Kind regards,

No air conditioning in room and balcony falling apart with a bird living in it

    rating20 Apr 2026

Air conditioning locked and set 26 degrees which we have been told it is still in winter mode and can’t be changed, who sets there home to 26 degrees even in winter? This is clearly to stop people turning it on , room is way to warm at night time and unable to get a full night Sleep The balcony is falling apart with a bird living in, the hole is so big that flys up inside it Work going on outside starts at 8 in the morning, I will forgive this as not all hotel work . Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel El Puerto by Pierre & Vacances, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.We are truly sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We regret that your in-room comfort and the condition of certain facilities did not live up to the standards you expected. Please know that air conditioning can be regulated individually and we aim to ensure a pleasant environment for every guest. Terrible experience. Huge maintenance issues amd rude staff.

    rating16 Apr 2026

A terrible experience. Concrete is falling off the decaying buildings ! The pool floor staff are the rudest I have ever encountered. Why ? Management need to be aware and stop them behaving this way . You need to 'net' the building before people get hurt from falling debris. See photos. Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel El Puerto by Pierre & Vacances, responded to this review Dear Paul,Thank you for your review; we are concerned to read of the issues you have raised. We sincerely apologize that your experience fell short of the high standards we strive to maintain. Your comments regarding our facilities and team interactions have been shared with relevant departments for immediate review. While we regret the shortcomings during your stay, we remain committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment. All maintenance processes are regularly assessed, and we have reinforced protocols to address structural concerns promptly. We hope that you will allow us the opportunity of providing you with an improved stay in future.Best regards,José Luis Saíz Director General / General Manager

Pool staff rude, pool freezing, heating still on in rooms in 24 degrees heat, beds still rock hard, pillows like bricks. AVOID

    rating11 Apr 2026

We gave this hotel another chance after the management in our last review in 2024 said that they look to improve the service they offer..well, little has changed. The one plus point is that they now finally have kettles in the room. Now, the banality of this place. 1 . The beds are still rock hard, as are the pillows.2. The pool bar is run like a prison. I asked for a coffee today as it was cold in the wind. The man explained that they don't serve coffee. I asked if I could go and get one, and he refused to let me bring one up, even though they don't serve hot drinks! Then the pool staff were telling people to put their shirts on if not sat on a sunbed. You were not allowed to move a sunbed which remained empty all day, so we had to sit on a chair and the lady waitress would not put the waterproof cushions on the bed in case they got wet! The lady waitress was definitely on a power trip and took great delight in telling people off for any minor infringement of the unwritten and unadvertised rules.3. The temperature outside is around 24 degrees, but the hotel has kept the heating on, so our room is boiling! We bought a fan from the local shop to help a little, but if you leave your window open, you get eaten by mosquitoes/bugs of some sort. The receptionist said that hotel has kept the heating on because of the weather duration our stay...!4. The toilet bowl acoustics in the accommodation is still an issue. At 0331 some inconsiderate person came back in shouting and the noise echoed everywhere. It woke many guests.5. The pool is still freezing. It's not even cold! They definitely do not heat the pool. All in all, this place has got much worse. We did give it a chance but the pool staff power trippers just put you off returning. We wish anyone going to this hotel all the very best! If you want to be treated rudely, then this is the place for you!! Hotel Manager, Owner at Hotel El Puerto by Pierre & Vacances, responded to this review Dear Sir,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us.We are pleased that you found the addition of kettles in the room to be convenient during your stay, as we aim to provide practical amenities that enhance your comfort. However, we are truly sorry to hear that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the service around the pool area, the room temperature, the bedding, and noise disturbances have been noted. We regret that the atmosphere in the outdoor facilities and the comfort of your room fell short of what you anticipated, as our team continuously strives to provide attentive and respectful service. Feedback like yours is important to us, and we will take your observations into account to better understand where guests may feel discomfort or inconvenience during their time with us.We hope that you will allow us the opportunity to welcome you back in future.Best regards,José Luis Saíz Director General / General Manager
