Nothing like the photos- grubby and overpriced

    rating16 Oct 2025

The apartment is central but on a busy road so there is some noise. The terrace in our apartment was nice but that was where it ended. We did not stay, forfeiting the cost as the apartment was run down and grubby. We go away frequently and the photos for this property are the most misleading we've come across. It was basic and depressing, did not feel clean. The pillows were terrible, there was a filthy rug on the living room floor, the other flooring was cracked in multiple places and needed replacing. I can't believe reviews on google and other providers wrre so good given that the apartments are just nothing like the photos purport them to be. We are posting photos which reflect some of this. The drain just outside the property leading to the terrace was particularly disgusting.

    Perfect location

    rating08 Jan 2020

My husband and I stayed here for one week for Christmas. The guys who looked after us were very efficient and friendly. The apartment itself is extremely spacious but a bit soulless. It could do with some pictures on the walls and some table lights and perhaps a little more furniture.. As we were staying for a week this would have made it more homely. The kitchen area was very good but no wine glasses and there was no plug in the kitchen sink. When we asked for one he said that they had one but it didn't work. We could only get Spanish tv as the satellite wasn't working. I think it was Tim who tried to get it working but this didn't happen, however, as the weather was brilliant this did not matter but had the weather been poor we might have been a bit disappointed. The bathroom and shower were excellent as was the roof terrace. All in all and excellent place to say with loads of room.

Does the Job! Looking Tired, Room 6 Curse

    rating11 Aug 2019

Seems to be that room 6 is the room you dont want at the Santa Cruz Apartments.Let's start with the positives. Courtesy call prior to arriving asking when we will arrive and when we did a nice guy greeted us and showed us to our apartment. Spacious living area, separated bedroom and bathroom. 2 adults and 2 kids in our room. They made up the sofa bed ready for us.Location is fantastic! Just far enough from the hustle and bustle but walking distance to it. The train station is literally over the road. Not too much noise at night, you have to expect some staying in the city centre, its loud Malaga afterall! Now the negative bits. Room is looking tired, not much like the pictures anymore from a few years back. Needs a refresh. The skirting boards are off the wall from where the bathroom next door is clearly coming through the wall (see pics). Kitchen area is worn but ample for use. Sofa is well passed it, needs replacing asap, getting bare. The flooring is wood laminate which is starting to show age and the trail of ants going from one side of the room to the other is a nice touch, lol.Bathroom seems elegant although toilet roll holder is just about to fall off the wall. Shower is good though, rain style shower head, very nice!Bedroom again was ok, missing bulbs in the lights but we did manage to sleep well on the bed.Overall for the price I paid for the two nights £140, i think it was money well spent.Would I return??? With all the competition locally it's hard to say, I wouldn't say no, just as long as I didn't have the cursed room 6!So read this and dont be put off, it's a lovely place to stay. One other thing, if your staying here with children then there is 20 steps up from the front door upti the lift area, so you must leave your pram/buggy at the front door and carry your nightmares up the first flight of stairs.

    Disappointed

    rating23 Jun 2019

They definitely are spacious. Bathroom was ok. Bedroom wasn’t bad really. But the sofa bed in the living room had seen better days. Should have been thrown out years ago. It def not the comfortable thing shown in the pic. We were in room 6. Definitely had a good photographer when the photos were taken , coz def not the nice bright luxurious apartment that’s shown on the pictures. The spare bed made up in the living room was like a decorating table. Very noisy area as well. But that can’t be helped as its on a main avenue running through the city.

Spacious apartment in a perfect location

    rating15 May 2019

I stayed in Santa Cruz apartment for one night. I text Konrad when my flight landed and he was there to let me in even though I arrived 2 hours before check in time. The apartment was huge, spacious and well equipped. The bed and was huge and very comfortable. The building itself is very old but very well kept with a beautiful mosiac in the hallway. There is a supermarket just around the corner and a bakery next door. It is a 5 minute walk to the shopping area Calle del Larios and another 2-3 minute walk to the Old city. The train station is a 5 minute walk in the other direction. Konrad was very helpful in sending me a link on how to get to my next destination. He also provided storage for my luggage the next day after check out. I will certainly return to Malaga and would without hesitation stay in Santa Cruz apartments.
