  (See a spanish version below).This was by far our worst experience in El Hierro. The bathroom had such a terrible smell that it was almost impossible to spend much time in the room. Despite complaining several times, it took three days before they finally moved us to another room on a lower floor.Unfortunately, things did not improve. In the new room, we were visited by a rat, which made the experience even worse.And to finish our stay on an equally disappointing note: after three days of having breakfast with good, hot coffee, on our fourth day the manager suddenly decided that we should only be served cold coffee. If we wanted a proper, freshly made hot coffee, we were told that we had to pay extra for it.Overall, a very unpleasant and disappointing experience. We gave the management several opportunities to resolve the problems, but unfortunately the situation did not improve.I cannot recommend this accommodation. El Hierro is an incredibly beautiful and fascinating island with so much to discover and enjoy. Visit El Hierro, absolutely, but do not stay in Pozo de salud (not healthy)!(En espanol):Esta fue nuestra peor experiencia en El Hierro. El baño tenía un olor tan desagradable que era prácticamente imposible permanecer mucho tiempo en la habitación. A pesar de quejarnos varias veces, tuvieron que pasar tres días antes de que finalmente nos cambiaran a otra habitación en una planta inferior.Desafortunadamente, la situación no mejoró. En la nueva habitación recibimos la visita de una rata, lo que hizo que la experiencia fuera aún peor.Y para terminar nuestra estancia de una manera igualmente decepcionante: después de tres días desayunando con un buen café caliente, el cuarto día el gerente decidió de repente que solo nos servirían café frío. Si queríamos un buen café caliente recién hecho, nos dijeron que teníamos que pagarlo aparte.En general, fue una experiencia muy desagradable y decepcionante. Dimos a la dirección varias oportunidades para solucionar los problemas, pero lamentablemente la situación no mejoró.No puedo recomendar este alojamiento. El Hierro es una isla increíblemente bonita e interesante, con muchísimo por descubrir y disfrutar. Visiten El Hierro, sin duda , pero hay que buscar un otro sitio. El Pozo de salud no hay nada de buena salud!

  Good hotel in El Hierro - Nice stay

  Many positive points:- Very well located to visit the west and central part of El Hierro (the most interesting part according to me)- Nice large swimming pool- Large rooms very clean- Staff is friendly and helpful- 1 hour of sauna, turkish bath etc offeredOnly one weaker point: the food both for breakfast and dinner.We had taken half-pension. Unfortunatelly, a large group of hickers (more than 20 peole) was in the hotel together with us. When they arrive all together in the restaurant, the staff seems completely overwhelmed, despite they were very friendly and trying to do their best. For example: they could not bring bread, fruits, coffie or eggs fast enough for breakfast. And after the group has passed, there was nothing left.Anyway apart from this, the proposed menus a lacking a little bit of variety.However I recommand this hotel, but maybe I would take breakfast only. But note also that there are not many restaurants around : only 1 in fact.

  This hotel is relatively recently renovated. Rooms were quite spacious, and comfortable. The view is outstanding, right on the edge of the coast, with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. You can go to sleep with the ocean sounds. Housekeeping a bit slow, but was clean.Beware though as the location is quite remote, the nearest village, while close, is about 1.2 k up a volcanic cone, and it did not have much - tiny grocery closed both times we were near. So you almost have to have a car. There is also construction on the road to the Malpais, closed except weekends - reports till end of 2025.

  The hotel has a lovely position by the sea and it also has some fabulous views of the mountains as well. We had a first floor sea view and the room was very clean & comfortable. No safe but you can make tea/coffee in your room. Our evening meal was good, nothing spectacular but we enjoyed the ribs, the restaurant lacks atmosphere. Breakfast doesn't start until 8.30am, which is very late especially if you are going out walking. Breakfast had a good buffet selection but nothing hot available. We were disappointed that we were unable to book a massage/treatment in the two days that we were the there as the hotel was not particularly busy. Reception was a bit hit and miss, we had to keep reminding them about our picnics, which were forgotten on both days. The restaurant service is good. We did a nice walk from the hotel to the Arco de la Toscas (a natural stone sea arch) which is about 9km return. There is a bus stop outside the hotel but I think the bus is quite infrequent. It is a hike up to Sabinosa but there is a footpath which will avoid most of the road. The pool has some loungers and a good view of the mountains but we didn't use the pool. There is a bar/restaurant opposite the hotel where we enjoyed an early evening beer.

  Liked · Beautifully situated, and a lovely place to be able to switch off. The staff were also very good and I was very happy with the service I received thereDisliked · Sadly the evening meal, although a good price and quite tasty was still a disappointment, not very large, and for someone like me who was cycling around the Island I needed fuel. In asking what the dishes consisted of I think there may have been a misinterpretation due to the language . Although that's my issue as I am in Spain and can't speak Spanish very well
