  Extremely disappointing service and unacceptable management response

  chose Alua Suites Fuerteventura specifically because it was advertised as a pet-friendly hotel. I informed the property in advance that I would be travelling with my 7 kg dog and received written confirmation that he was accepted. However, upon arrival, I was told that my dog was not allowed in any public areas and could only stay inside the room, with an additional charge of €50 per day. These restrictions had not been clearly communicated to me beforehand.The situation became even more unacceptable when I arrived at 12:00, three hours before check-in. Since my dog was not allowed in the hotel’s common areas and my room was not yet available, I was effectively left with nowhere to go and no access to the hotel facilities.I asked Airan at Reception for assistance and subsequently escalated the matter to Gemma, the manager. After approximately one hour of waiting, Gemma told me that I should have provided additional information about my dog, despite the fact that I had already declared his presence and received written confirmation of acceptance. When I showed her the documentation, her response was discourteous and entirely unhelpful. She told me that my only options were to sit on a chair outside the property or leave the hotel and go for a walk until 15:00.This is how a manager chose to handle a legitimate guest complaint.What disappointed me most was not simply the lack of clarity regarding the pet policy, but the complete absence of empathy, ownership and willingness to find a reasonable solution. I would have expected the staff to acknowledge the contradictory information and help resolve the situation, rather than making the guest bear the consequences of a communication failure.The personal impact was particularly significant: I had planned to propose to my partner during this trip, and this experience ruined the atmosphere of what should have been a very special occasion.A hotel cannot advertise itself as pet-friendly, confirm acceptance of a pet and then leave its guests in this situation without a practical alternative. Even more disappointing is the way the issue was handled by the people responsible for resolving it.I would strongly recommend that management review both its communication regarding pet policies and the conduct of the staff involved, particularly Airan and Gemma. Unfortunately, the service and treatment I received fell far below the standard of hospitality I expected from a hotel belonging to the Hyatt Inclusive Collection.

  Decent all inclusive, large rooms, nice hotel

  We had a lovely time at the Alua suites, me and my partner were coming on our first holiday with a 4 month old so we wanted somewhere, where we could be looked after to an extent (the rooms cleaned) but also be baby friendly but have the ability to go out if we want.Location is a little out from the main town which we knew when booking. Approx 20/25 Min walk however there is a small little square 10 mins away with some lovely restaurants and a market on a Thursday and Sunday! There is a boardwalk to walk from the beach or you can walk main road. Google maps is easy enough to follow. Room was a junior suite was a good size with a kettle, we took our towel collapsible wash bowl for bottles and managed, a travel cot was available on request and I emailed In Advance for it to be set up and it was. Room was cleaned spotlessly everyday. The place is massive a little like a maze with many pools, they were a good temperature for the heat (30degrees) and our baby along with others was fine getting in several of the pools.Food was fine lots of choice, we chose to eat most evening meals out by preference however there would be something for everyone to eat everyday with themed nights. The breakfast was good. You have to pay €20 deposit per towel if you want pool towels and don't get it back until you return the towels. We weren't told on arrival that we needed to keep the receipt so my partner ended up having a discussion with a lady who was quite rude however we managed to sort it. Only watched entertainment one night as we went out however it was singing ladies and was quite good they had people up and dancing. Lots of choice on the all inclusive drinks however the premade cocktails other than mojito were all really not very nice im not sure how anyone enjoys them. Bar staff were all really nice though and there was options for some decent spirits if you ask. There was always pool availability for sunbeds and we even saw signs put out on some beds for some sunbed hoggers who left towels but didn't use the beds all day. My only downside was that the areas weren't too clean nobody seemed to mop around the pool areas or clean the pool side tables everyday they were dirty when we would arrive at 10am but otherwise the pools were good and they had lots of entertainment.Overall we had a reallly good holiday and it was an ideal hotel for our first holiday with a baby where we just wanted to chill, eat and not do too much!

  We stayed in the MFC area and once again had a wonderful time.The whole hotel is kept very clean and the array of plants and flowers are beautiful.All staff worked very hard and were very welcoming.Check was super quick, with the added bonus that our room was ready at 12.30pm ??The food, breakfast through to dinner was great and the MFC evening restaurant is a really nice addition as you get served at your table.The only negative was that the sauna has to be pre booked which is a pain as it makes you having to plan your day (which holiday isnt about) rather than just turn up. Also unsure if it's clothing optional anymore? as it used to be.Overal another great holiday and hope to be returning.

  Average stay that could be so much better

  Location of the hotel is very good, a 15 minute walk to the centre for lots of bars, restaurants and shops.Make sure that you get a 1st floor suite not a ground floor like we did, we were awaken on / off at all times of the night by the occupants above scraping things on the floor, showering at 1am in the morning, which you could hear as clear as if they were in your suite.Food was very average at best and on most days we did struggle to find anything which we liked, we only had 1 meal all week that was hot as everything was only just warm.The entertainment at night is mainly singers that are so loud that even the bar staff could not hear you to order drinks.It was too repetitive.

  Visited Corralejo many times first time at ALUA hotel suite. Booked asA package deal hotel receptionist very welcoming and helpful with directions to accommodation very good .Very clean and spacious but a lot of omosquitoes in rooms so was bitten about 8 times during first night sleeping we spent about 25 Euros on sprays and medications for bites . Reported to reception and they sent a plug in vapour device we then noticed 3 others in plugs around so obviously an on going problem .We like to sit out in the evening but two bushes right out side seem to accommodate the mosquitoes so we didn’t sit out .Outside there was no drying facility on the wall others had . The place was kept very clean but generally had area s needing updating and decorating the pillar outside our apartment had a large crack in it see picture.Food was ok lunch for some reason didnt offer cold sliced meat except spicy type meat yet at breakfast there was a variety of sliced meats . A lot of stew type meals were on offer In the main eating area you could get tea to drink at lunch time and had to ask for cold milk to put in tea. Bar staff very pleasant and happy to serve cleaning staff lovely .We had a nice holiday would of loved to sit out at evening ..Had a good holiday as we do in Corralejo but wouldn’t stay here again Guest Service, Guest Services / Front Office at Alua Suites Fuerteventura, responded to this review Dear David, Thank you for your kind feedback.
