Bakour is not what it was…

  15 Aug 2026

I have visited this hotel last year and described it as a hidden gem. Compared to then the food quality and service in the restaurant was horrendous this time. Some of the issues we encountered were: (1) Food was most of the times cold, dry and tasteless (2) options were weird like plain rice with no sides to combine it with (3) Little to no vegetables at times (3) Food not being replaced anymore 30 minutes before closing time (4) Dead flies in the food (5) Cucumbers and fruits that seemed to have been laying there for days completely dried out (6) “clean” dishes that still had mayonaise and other food remains on them (7) ice cream of very low quality and no signs that indicate which flavors there are (8) drinks at dinner aren’t ordered at the table anymore but you have to wait in line at the bar and order there which is really annoying when you already have a dish full of food with you. All of this really has affected our experience during this trip. I love the hotel the spacious rooms, the scenes, the beautiful outside area with flowers and palm trees, but it seems since Club Jumbo took over everything that could be done to save money has been implemented, which has really affected the quality of service. A small detail like instantly stopping the music when breakfast or dinner time is over (signaling people have to leave) and quickly removing all food around the same time just isn’t a client oriented approach. We also had to get our forks, knives and napkins ourselves each time we went to the restaurant as there were too few staff members to clean all the tables in time. The available staff was kind though and tried their best. With regard to the room we really enjoyed the spaciousness but missed amenities like a coffee machine or some glasses and a bottle of water. The kitchen cupboard and table were completely empty when we arrived. Also letting us pay for ventilators that were clearly essential as the room temperature was above 30 degrees with no air conditioning felt a bit mean :( If the hotel addresses the issues mentioned before I would gladly come back as I previously described this hotel as a hidden gem and love the location and setting, but some things really have to be fixed. Write one thing, charges another

  21 Mar 2026

I booked a room online and emailed the hotel to ask whether the decision about dinner had to be made at the time of booking or if it could be arranged later at check-in. I was informed that it could be decided at check-in.However, when I arrived at the hotel, it turned out that dinner cost three times more than the online price. The staff member did not see anything unusual about this situation.I do not recommend this hotel, as the staff misleads guests by saying one thing and doing another. Reservas Fuerteventura La Pared, Owner at Bakour Fuerteventura La Pared, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations. We take note of your feedback as it helps us to improve. However, you were informed by email that it was possible to pay for half board upon arrival or, if you preferred not to have dinner every day, you could pay directly at the restaurant. In no case were you misled regarding the price.Kind regards,Team Bakour Fuerteventura La Pared.

  Avoid! Rubbish location and food

  02 Mar 2026

I was deeply unimpressed by the canteen-style evening meal I had here. It was honestly the worst one I had on my trip to the island. What insipid drivel (tasteless meat, inedible vegetables and tinned fruit) and a waste of my hard-earned cash. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE FOOD HERE.I found one of the bar staff (a young man with dark hair) to be very surly and not suited for customer service. He never smiled or asked which drink I would like, just grunted 'Beer' like I was a nuisance. What a welcome. While the reception staff were very helpful, this was the fly in the ointment which spoilt everything. The location of this hotel is also very isolated with next to nothing to do – just a café opposite, apparently a restaurant down the road which I didn't see open, and little entertainment. Stay on the south of the peninsula where there is far more to do!It would also be better to provide guests with washing up liquid and a tea towel. Please! This is basic. I know you will say there's a corner shop to buy them, but it comes across as mean not to include these essentials. To be honest I found your hotel to be a big let-down. Maybe just turn it into a monkey sanctuary and leave the cats to roam as they please. Reservas Fuerteventura La Pared, Owner at Bakour Fuerteventura La Pared, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your experience. Awful town, very disappointing hotel

  01 Mar 2026

The turquoise pool and shiny foyer floor soon proved to be superficial. After the pixie dust settles, a dark place surfaces into view. Having to swipe a card to walk through locked gates throughout the grounds is like being in prison. Moreover, the kitchens lack some very basic necessities like washing up liquid and dishcloths, and there are also whole cupboards missing from the wall. Would it also really be asking that much to put some nice pictures up on the walls? That being said, the diabolical food is the vilest offender here – I literally couldn’t stomach some of the “Mexican” rubbish. It was bland, foul tasting or both at once, certainly not worth hanging round for after dark. Can I also add that there is nothing – apart from watching the sunset and waves – to do in this town with its potholed roads and end-of-earth vibes? A miserable experience which I shan’t be repeating. Oh and some of the staff are so rude (eg the one with tattoos and earring at the bar). Some staff are admittedly pleasant, but it only takes one… Reservas Fuerteventura La Pared, Owner at Bakour Fuerteventura La Pared, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for sharing your experience at our hotel.
